vMA Dual Wield - Immediate Nerf

"Maelstrom’s Dual Wield set is currently enabling too much damage with the DoT refactor. It will be adjusted to tone down the total Weapon and Spell Damage, but will get some improvements to its usability in a fluid rotation. This change will be in a future PTS patch."

??? These were nerfed years ago to the point no one used them for years. Now people finally getting ready to use again, and immediate nerf impending. What?!?!?

    I'm also pretty sure that they'll do nothing to improve the biggest issue of vMA SW - the clunkiness of the underlying skill itself. The promise of making things more fluid I'm taking with a grain of salt.

    Well, at least they have fixed the long-standing issue with Thunderous Volley, when buff wouldn't apply when bars are swapped before first damage ticks. Hurray, I guess. I wonder if the similar Master bow issue persists? What's with cancelling the Poison Injection?

    make it be like 750 weapon and spell damage but ALL single target dots casted within 5 seconds or so. would make rotations easier and more fluid.

    The virulent shot from blackrose prison will not apply the dot if quickly barswapped on live.

    Guess it's a recurring theme.

    maybe it will be like a stacking thing, 300 damage each cast of flurry stacking up to 6 5 times (i guess, depending on how powerful it is)

    edit: and not consume on use, last for a rotation then need to be stacked back up

    This is still being nerfed ?

    Why ? Who's idea was this to keep nerfing the only playstyle I have on my Stam Sorc ?

    This will be it's 3rd nerf please stop or reconsider it if there is any diversity to thoerycraft for playstyles.

    Literally every stamina build is and will be using them next patch and for every patch after it until they nerf all single target dots they buffed this patch or the vma dw itself.

    They are literally in meta right now, on live, before the amount of dots they buff doubles and every other improves by 30% coming next patch.

    im also wondering if the change might affect aoe dots using the buff on one of the targets hit, if they do remove that hopefully fit it into their balance change

    like cleave, noxious breath, etc...

    Well, right now its the only option for best DPS. Why?!! All classes on PTS play the exact same. Because they overbuffed dots.
    Any change to not make me play Flurry on EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER is great.
    I hate flurry soo much..

    I'm looking at this from a PvP perspective, this burst meta has been in place for 3 years now. 3 years ago dots builds were able to compete. Now it's just making burst more strong and encouraging the same usual playstyles we seen for 3 years.

    vMA DW or maybe Flurry deserves a nerf. I can't specifically decide which one though.

    The Flurry 21% buff previous patch has made it stronger than every single class spammable. Also, there is the return of the DoT meta of old days with the new DoTs.

    Every single stamina class has now forced to use vMA DW and flurry to hit max numbers. The highest parses in PTS is all from the same setup.

    Stamina Sorcs - 108.4k. It is the class benefiting the most from the new meta.
    Stamina Necros - 106.8k. Forced to drop class spammable, Venom Skull.
    Stamina Dk - 105.9k. Another class benefiting a lot due to two class DoTs.
    Stamina NB - 103.1k. Forced to drop class spammable, Surprise Attack and Leeching Strikes to make barspace for more DoTs.
    Stamina Warden - 102.1k. Forced to drop class spammable, Cliff Racer and Sub Assault to make barspace for more DoTs.
    Stamina Templar - 97.6k. Forced to drop class spammable, Jabs, in spite of the fact, it does the same thing just for vMA DW.

    You know something is wrong, when the strongest DPS class is the one with least the class skills and when classes without class spammables are on top while classes with tons of class skills are forced to drop them.

    The classes which are mostly Direct Damage oriented, suffer from this meta, like Stamina NB and Stamina Warden. The funny fact, they went from top two classes two patches ago to bottom two classes, ignoring Stamplar.

    I thought (according to Liko) sNecro was still a weeeeeeeeeeeeee nit higher than sSorc.

    Of course a pure damage output setup will be "destroyed" in PvP by a PvP setup... Not everything is about pvp you know? If it was for me they should just delete cyrodiil and battle grounds to improve performance.

    Thank God they are nerfing that... all classes with same skills and rotation?? Like really?? No Identity at all for your class?? I was about to drop all my staminas for One patch...
    Also, not using any monster set at all is killing One of the unique things de have on ESO
    Only the crying Babys who cant learn a proper rotation were pleased with that meta!

    I know the feeling. I'm torn apart myself, I'm sad to see one vMA weapon nerfed and another only made good for one week of PTS to see live as a trash again, no doubt. But at the same time, I despise Flurry as a skill, with passion. No end of things that are wrong about it, and as things stand now, we could be looking at uniform, faceless meta across whole stamina, with hardly any space for class skills. I frankly don't want it to happen. New DoT meta is already looking sticky and viscous enough without Flurry thrown into the pile.

    try NOT parsing on a fully buffed/debuffed trials dummy and get back to us. These dummies made dummies out of a LOT of people.

    ZOS seems to have this idea in their head that they want every class played with different sets and weapons, and they will play harmoniously off each other with their class group buffs. But that just won't ever happen. If they make it so vMA DW, vMA bow and vMA destro staves are nerfed so not every class plays, there will be something else that will replace those as meta. There will always be a BiS gear setup or weapon for PvE that will become meta. And even if it worked for a week, they would screw it up by nerfing or buffing something due to PvP and then it's all out of whack again.

    ZOS won't ever get the harmonious group PvE while having balanced PvP. Never...gonna...happen.

    I was going to have to run VMA a few more times to get daggers. Hopefully they will get nerfed to Oblivion, so I don't have to.

    These dummy parses are actually the best way to compare different builds and classes, because all have the same buffs, so it levels the playingfield. Pre Elsweyr Nightblades were outparsing all other classes, because they were the only class that had good access to minor berserk.
    You just should not expect to get the same numbers in actual raid situations, but it is still the best way to compare.

Thus being socially awkward towards pvp'ers, and using your attention to detail about how to balance a game. ( Take that how you want. )

    Thats NEVER going to happen becuase of the servers - engine - performance - charecter models - lore - class - rng and other things that made elder scrolls great in the past. And no this game won't and will never be balanced enough for the players.

    You and the other grasshoppers need to calm down. PvP is for the players advanced enough that look at pve as a joke of sit here for (x) seconds don't stand here gameplay mechanics. It's actually quite interesting to see how to get things nerfed by the nerflings. A trend and pattern I can use in the future toward other games when I see it falling apart.

    I'm disappointed in this community now it used to be about unique builds. Healthy debates about playstyles vs meta's. But looks like ESO can't live without a meta.
    Why ESO will always have a meta and discourage unique builds and diversity in both PvP and Pve.

    Goodluck y'all we will see in 5.1.3 were VMA DW is at for PvE and for PvP.

    That is just the arrogance we are used from from a lot of PvP players. I dont get any kind of fun out of PvP in MMORPGs, but of course they will not delete PvP and I would not push for it to be deleted, because I know a lot of people really have fun in PvP. But what I also observe a lot is that PvP players are often arrogant and insultive and it seems like you are one of them.

    This is because alcast is pumping out 90/104k dps tests lmao.

    Zos : We'll nerf sustain and heals to reduce some dps

    Alcast: Laughs in 100k+
    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

    I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.


    RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...
