I had no idea Paarthurnax had a broken horn. If he does actually show up in Dragonhold thats going to be the biggest reach around to all the Skyrim fanbois ive seen yet.

God, all of this. That, and completely lore breaking since he never left that mountain...

If I hear "oh, but dragon break!" one more time as an excuse for the lore/writing I'm going to strangle the one behind it :|

Source? I have never heard or seen dialogue or lore stating that he never left the Mountain. Honestly it won't be that lorebreaking. ZOS are good with lore, sure they've made a few mistakes along the way but for the most part they've been amazing with handling old to new lore.

    NO.

I STILL SAY THAT DRAGONS HAVE NO PLACE IN ELSWEYR.

Yes, I KNOW that it's been explained how it fits into the lore. I don't care, this is wrong; IT'S ALL WRONG.

Enough with the Skyrim cash-in, please.

I already played (and paid for) Skyrim. If I want to go back I'll go and play that.

When you talk to Paarthurnax in Skyrim and ask "Dragonsreach was built to hold a dragon?", he responds
"Yes. This was ages ago, you understand. There were more of us then. Before the bruniike - the Akaviri - came and killed all my zeymah. I used to visit him from time to time. Nearly crazed by loneliness and captivity. Tiiraz sivaas. He did not even remember his own name. I do not know how he came to be caught. But the bronjun... the Jarl... was very proud of his pet. Paak! The hofkahsejun has been known as Dragonsreach ever since."

That means he visited Numinex every now and then in the early First Era. However, In the Atlas of Dragons (dated 2E 373) they state "Paarthurnax is now known to lair on the Throat of the World under the protection of the Greybeards of High Hrothgar. Master Araidh continues the established policy of avoiding direct confrontation with the Greybeards while waiting for an opportunity to exact justice upon him.".

This leads me to believe he stayed on the mountain after the Akaviri came to Tamriel and begun slaughtering dragons, driving their numbers way down.

See how stupid this comment looks now?

Paarthurnax showing up on ESO makes zero sense to the timeline.

Jurgen Windcaller founded the Way of The Voice around the 1st era 424. It was around this time that Paarthurnax joined the Way Of the Voice. He didn’t become the Grand Master until after the death of Jugen Windcaller. During this time he is 100% committed to The Way of The Voice and overcoming his in born nature. Why would he care about what happens in ESO?

All Paarthurnaax cares about is The Way of The Voice and Alduin. He knows he has to help the Dragonborn of Prophecy against Alduin and is biding his time.

Furthermore, Paarthurnaax is being protected by The Greybeards on that mountain, The Blades have been hunting him for decades just waiting for him to leave that mountain, no way he risks that. The Blades are very much still active in ESO, they are just doing what they always do which is sticking to the shadows, remaining unseen, watching for dragons and a Dragonborn. As the famous saying goes:

“You keep secrets like The Blades”

If they put Parthy in the game anywhere other than the top of the Monohovan, it just for more sakes from Skyrim people

The blades were founded by Tiber Septim. And the Dragonguard is not active during that time.

I was thinking Paarthanax would be the one to show up as well. Between him and the comments Sai made about Lyris, maybe Skryim/Shouts may be the next big expansion??

Skyrim is pretty much confirmed to be the expansion in 2021.

I just hope those damn dragons in the zone capital would land already.

They just keep flying and hovering all over the place.

He's a dragon. Do you think he's cowering behind humans, up on his mountain? Bollocks.

Helping *humans against his own domineering kind wouldn't be at all out of character, if he thought the risk to them was grave enough. In the thousands of years he kept vigil, waiting for Alduin's return, I doubt he had zero side adventures or other self-assigned tasks to take care of.

I disagree, and I give my reasoning here:

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/496449/by-the-eight-i-knew-i-recognised-the-name-eso-tesa-redguard

Paarthurnax says he knew where Alduin would return in Skyrim, speaking to the Dovahkiin, but not the when.

For this reason, I doubt he will get involved with the Dovah of Elsweyr.

But there's a lot of actual reference to Nafaalilargus already in the game. The game he first appeared in, Redguard, was also set in the 2nd Era, just under 300 years after ESO.

I truly believe it will be Nafaalilargus who we will meet, not Paarthurnax.

I don't think Paarthurnax will make an appearance.

However, there will be a dragon from a previous Elder Scrolls game, and honestly... You can see this dragon right now in the live ESO game flying above base game cities. Anyone who knows the Elder Scrolls game series as a whole should easily be able to tell who the special friendly Dovah actually is... It's way too obvious.

Oh you're a GIRL Dragon, I mean of course you're a girl Dragon, you just reek of feminine beauty, and do i detect a hint of minty freshness?

Dragons are genderless. All Divine and Daedric beings are actually genderless and can take the form of whatever they please or their Godly creator please. In this case, dragons are shaped to look similar to their creator Akatosh.

Indeed, and already touched upon in the discussion I opened in the lore forum.

Once I saw the red Dovah and then the name of the event rewards... Yeah it was clear.

You know Skyrim literally proves that Dovah were never extinct right?

It's all detailed in an in-game book.

I don't understand all the comments about milking Skyrim fans. There were 2 Skyrim holds in the base game at launch. Dragons just showed up a few months ago. So in the 5 years in between how have they milked skyrim fans? They throw Skyrim fans a couple of bones and people loose their minds as if that's all ZoS does. I'm honestly surprised they waited this long.

The decision to put dragons in the game probably had more to do with Game of Throne's propularity than anything else. You would have gotten dragons even if Skyrim never existed.
