Wow. OP even acknowledges it was used to troll and to be offensive but thinks that is ok. lol

Inshgtful is used to troll so I guess we get rid of that too?

Then awsome would be used to troll next so let us just remove all the options.

At least LoL is a little more honest than using insightful to troll.

If insightful is used by some to troll it’s clearly to a significantly lesser degree. Regardless you are clearly just grasping at straws.

But your comments are very much irrelevant to what you quoted as I was merely pointing out that OP thinks the trolling was fine.

I am the OP and I did not say it was fine. I intimated the level of trolling compared to the proper use of LoL (its intended use) was not unexpected or excessive.

How is it you think you know what I think outside of what I write? A bit presumptuous are we? Feel free to read between the lines but not to place words in my mouth or ascribe intent without basis.

I did not have to presume anything as you clearly implied (intimated) it was acceptable when you acknowledged it was used to pile on a level of ridicule.

Nah... I’m one of those soft and sensitive types...

If it was used in good humour it would be cool... but passive aggressive ‘lols’ not so fun for an unsuspecting forum goer....

This, honestly I feel the same way.

How about two new reactions: 'LOL! I found that genuinely funny and/or entertaining.' And 'LOL! I think you're an idiot/ignorant who needs to L2P/git gud.'

At least that way I'd know if people were taking the *** out of me or not...

No, there a lot of people that despite their age do not act like adults. And this is why the LOL has gone in the 1st place.

Um because unlike most of the trollie-wollies on here I actually use the insightful, agree and awesome buttons like they’re intended? Ie. insightful for good arguments/lore, agrees for stuff I actually agree about and awesome for memes.

I never made such an argument. What is strange is how so many people can not read well anymore.

I acknowledged it was used wrong but implied the good use outweighed that. I never said it was ok to ridicile anyone. Please reread it and try to understand what was actually written instead of putting words in my mouth to make an ad hominem strawman argument

Which has no reflection of your idea for LOL. You acknowledge LOL was used to pile on and you indicate in the OP that using it as such was and is ok because we are all adults.

Clearly Zos disagrees and knows that many adults act rather childish and that the behavior you find an acceptable use of LOL, to troll and pile on, is not etiquette they wish to empower. Your comment about how you use insightful does not seem to be the wider view of the forums and seems more grasping at straws much like this thread is lacking support from the forum base.

ESO is a safe space, you guys. Words hurt. Emoji's hurt more. LoL Is the most aggressive emoji and is the same as your post getting physically assaulted.
