Would you like To See more Skills per Discipline?

Hey Folks,

I was wondering if some of you feel the same, my first mmorpg was Guild Wars 1, a theory crafters paradise. GW 1 had a truckload of skills per Skillline and managed it to be Quite good Balanced. (Well they separated from pve so..)

So how would you guys feel about the Addition of new Skills? Imo this could help preserving class identities and bring more diversity.

Cheers

Whilst I am not against new skills, I think ZOS needs to limit new ones to just what's needed until they reach the baseline they're currently working towards.

Right now so many skills are getting overhauls to bring things into an area they want adding more would just complicate matters.

I'm not averse to more skills being added. However, I have no particular need for them ,notwithstanding my being a chronic altaholic with no interest in set builds so I enjoy the variety that a full range of skills brings.

The present number and range of skills in the game provides sufficient variety in my view, and as @Turelus has said, the timing is all wrong in the context of the combat/balancing/CP changes being introduced for the situation to be complicated by more skills being added at the moment.

While i can See your Point, i want zu specifiy at this Point, that i was very generally speaking. The last years have proven that zos, is more interested in adding new skill lines than adding new. skills to class and existing skill Lines.

So i wanna know of you guys what do think about this generally Not if this is the right Time to implement new Skills.

And @ZOS if you Need some Inspiration just take a Look at the skillset of Guild Wars 1, Tons of Creative skill ideas and balancing approaches.

    I loved Guild Wars 1. <3<3

    So many skills and theorcrafting.

The heart of it all was that the game's content could be tackled by creating very specific roles to certain locations or goals. You could make a specific build to farm trolls in a cave, or make a build designed to do a chest run in a specific dungeon. And you could save and trade build templates with players. There was an entire wiki dedicated to showcasing builds and where/how they were used and then the community could test and rate them.

I have been waiting years for another game like it.

I noticed that the current PTS changes in ways make interrupting and purging more important. I really like that. Expands the roles a hotbar could focus on. And then new skills can be combinations of roles. Just like in guild wars. eg. An interrupt that purges conditions from allies around the enemy that got interrupted.

More morphs is awesome! It's a way of quarantining synergies and helps to keep things under control. I'd love to get more morphs!

Not unless they overhaul the skills bar and expand it. I get to many missed bar swaps when it appears to be ready which kills rotation flow and DPS.

No, but I'd like to see more Skill lines, Guild/Weapon/Class skill lines.

And a dedicated Magtank/Frost Destro skill line.

    More skills

    More Morphs

And please add 1-2 more skill slots too.

I'm thinking 6 skills, 1 passive, 1 ultimate per skill bar.

Feel free to add a third bar while you are at it. I would love to have a 2H, DW, Bow Warden.

I would say with the more intricate gear system in ESO, as well as all the morph choices on skills, that this game offers a greater opportunity that Guild War 2 for theory crafting. Placing things on specific bars not just for the active effects but for the passives as well. Compared to Guild Wars 2 less in depth gear with skills being hard tied to weapons, it feels like the far more simple system.

I want an ultimate for the crafting skill lines.
Black smithing should be something like “craft 500 metal pets to fight by your side and destroy everything in their path”
And clothing should be “Knit all enemies together ensnaring them together and placing a bleed for 5000000 damage over 2 seconds”

I'm not against new skills per se, but I would rather see a new weapon skill line or two, that can create new playstyles, rather than broaden the current skill lines.

No, I would like to see Spellcrafting (I can dream) with a number of variables which means everyone isn't running around with the same builds.

Only if we get more ability slots on the action bar. More skills doesn't help any, if there's no space to use them.

well, more unbalanced skills would probably lead to more cheesy builds which would probably lead to more variety, which would probably result in other metas than go stam, sorc or home

Lot of the nerfed changed or out right deleted skills could easily be brought back as new skills for some classes. This is exactly the problem with eso there is no new content new zones and gear but nothing actually new your class just stagnates spaming lava whip, frag, jabs etc 6 years later still doing that world lines don't offer much either. Easily throw in 5 skills per skill line rather than changing the same 5 every 3 months just add the new ideas as a new skill.
