Maintenance for the week of May 18:
• NA megaservers for maintenance – May 18, 4:00AM EDT (8:00 UTC) - 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC)

Would you like for combat devs to do an ESO Live during the first week of each PTS?

Currently, the majority of the feedback/explanations/reasoning for combat/item changes, balances, or reworks is provided in Developer Comments in the Patch Notes. However, these comments are sparse and often vague, and they are not always included for major changes. This often leaves the community wondering, "Why did they change this? Why did they change it this way? What is their goal?". These questions are then asked by the community on the PTS forums but they usually go unanswered by the devs unless there is a large enough outcry by the community as a whole.

I personally believe that it would be beneficial for both the community and the devs if the combat team were to host an ESO Live during the first week of each PTS cycle. Since the new PTS Update is usually released on Monday, the devs could gather questions over that first week and then on Friday host an ESO Live where they address those questions from the community. This could be a time where community questions are answered and the devs can explain their goals for the changes. This would allow the community to have their questions answered, and since the community would also be more aware of the devs' goals it would help the players to know what specifically they should be focusing on while they play on the PTS.

Would love to see that. Doubt it will ever happen though. The communication from Zos to the community is so poor already, causing us to write hundreds of similar posts all asking the same question, Why?

We see very few responses, except for the occasional rah-rah posts about vision, balance and skill audits, all of which fail to meet expectations once the patch comes out.

We also see very minimal changes when Zos finally decides to listen to us, most of the time resulting in some overbuff to a skill gut, like the Incap debacle last patch.

The only somewhat truthful post was the awkwardly written post by @ZOS_BrianWheeler in an effort to stop the bleeding after the leaked patch notes fiasco. The post where he gives us all the middle finger, telling us to stop playing the way we want and play the Zos way or don't play at all!

I’d love for wheeler and Gilliam to do some duels on the pts each week of testing, while live-streaming. Them getting absolutely blasted by the cancer themselves are putting in the game would make for some pretty good content.
