How long until cloak gets taken away?

I'm thinking about the class identity going down the drain fast, from a sorcerers perspective. Shields nerfed to the ground, pets nerfed so much we are stuck with a useless skill line, more so since a pet requires double slotting.
I mean, cloak will eventually be tampered with and not in a "good way".
If you started sorcerer because shields and pets you are one dissapointed sorcerer today, having passives tied to pets makes it worse.

So I'm just curious, when will the homogenization have gone to far?

Nightblades identity = cloak

Sorcerers = pets and shields

One has gone down the drain and soon the other will follow in true Zenimax spirit 🙂

    Sorcs identity is more about streak, curse and delayed finisher combo. As for now there is no other class that can do this. Well maybe wardens subterranean is similar to curse but they don't have finisher, there is also no other skill like bolt escape and morphs. Sorcs also have mines, dark deal/exchange, with Rally/Momentum change surge also gains more functionality. And don't forget about most unique ultimate in the game - negate - the group slayer.

    But from NB perspective, well there is just cloak left, maybe shade if it wouldn't be bugged since Murkmire. They have gave away Path, Phantasmal Escape, Fear, Teleport Strike, powerful single target Class DoT (Cripple/Debilitate was one of most powerful DoTs in the game, now everyone have 2 dots like this), siphoning attacks (new resto staff Siphon Spirit), they nerfed again Grim Focus, they added cast time on Death Stroke and morphs. Yeah... Awesome especially from magblade perspective, being nerfed and striped of any uniqueness when you are already the weakest. Brilliant ZOS.
    I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

    Pet builds come and go throughout the games cycles, but it'll be back someday. Their are plenty of other options for good sorc builds, the magicka version of the class is versital.

    I doubt they will ditch cloak ever, and have already limited it's duration from what it once was.

    I agree with a lot of what you said but, you also have to take your character to veteran content like trials and DLC dungeons. Here sorcerer falls short, no one uses streak, mines or curse(maybe curse, but one morph is useless since we have no pets) PvE for damage. And since pets are gutted, it's better slotting 2 different skills for damage than having a double slotted pet.
    Also that means sorcerer have useless passives tied to pets. Useless pets for PvE. Shields nerfed to oblivion since shieldstacking isn't a thing PvE.

    And I didn't pick sorcerer to slot skills anyone can slot, the homogenization is real this time and it's horrible.

    Soon we will pick classes only based on passives and not touch our own skill lines because we only use exterior skills. What is the point, might aswell create a blank character and release all skills and passives so people can make their own builds.

    At least then when something is OP everyone has access to it and the fear of no longer find your achievement hunter character fun to play is gone because you can always ride with the wave.

    I do understand that but Twilight Matriarch was a bit overloaded though, I think that current approach where Tromentor will deal more damage than Matriarch is better, since you need to to choose now between higher damage and healing.
    Remember that pets especially in PvP are amazing skills, it's free pressure requiring to do absolutely nothing allowing you to use LoS anywhere. Pets are far from being useless.

    Endgame PvE content in general don't allow for much of a diversity.
    I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

    Um I have a sorc without pets that I take to vet dungeons & trials, and he does ok. So if I can do it, anyone can!
    (But then not after leaderboard, just having fun with guild)
