After much reading and analyzing, the way I see myself playing a sorc is to have two separate builds. One build will be focused strictly on aoe and one on single target.
All classes aoe got nerfed. Winged pet I think will go into the trash bin. Soooooo probably a few skills will join it but overall it'll be a similar rotation

And by the way, which morph of Curse? The one that gives a decent single-target quasi-DoT, or the one that buffs one of the two significant class AoEs?
Everyone knows that MagSorc has been brutally nerfed in this last update. It was no longer that strong over the last year or so anyway. Agreed that at one time it was OP and needed tweaking, and this was definitely done. But most abilities have now had dps, healing and cc reduced even further, and drastically so. And you may as well forget about PetSorcs, who have had both dps and healing viciously slashed, thus rendering PetSorcs pretty much useless.
It's almost as if a part of the population have a vendetta against Sorcs, and ZOS devs have been taken in by the persuasion. I cannot think of any other explanation why a class should be so comprehensively destroyed.
So, does MagSorc have anything to bring to the table anymore? If you were compiling a PVE group, would you include a MagSorc? What will happen if many players abandon their Sorcs due to their current unplayability? What will that do to the balance of the game?
If ZOS wants sorcerers to be even more bland and boring then fine. If the PTS patch is what we get I’m probably going to main a magden for pve dps. Wardens have a theme that is so pretty and noticeable. Or maybe magdk or magplar. Sorcerers are just way too boring now. Only thing that will keep me loyal to magsorc is pet skins, which will probably never be added. I wouldn’t even care about lower dps.

If anything, they should have just diminished the difference pets make for a sorc in pvp. For example remove the max health passive, lower the burst heal from pet, make pets untargetable, so petsorcs cant cut line of sight and attack you behind their pets. Also Streak buff was really unnecessary, it is already very strong skill. It is going to overperform now. And also about the Force Pulse, it is defacto a sorcerer ability.

Yeah, kind of this. Just watched a youtube vid of a 101k parse with a stam sorc. Want to know how many sorc skills the guy was using? 1. Could have probably easily replaced that one too. What is the point of having class skills if everything else outshines them. So frustrating. I want to play a class for class abilities not so i use LITERALLY the same abilities from weapon / guild. Feels like drinking a warm, flat Coke. Sure... it may be a Coke, but it tastes like brown water with WAY too much sugar.
They are currently the 2nd strongest mag class behind magplars. For how little effort it required to be decent in pve and pvp, it was over performing, esp that twilight pet.
Glad to see it's been nerfed and hopefully I'll see less mag sorcs running around with 1 or 2 pets taking up my frames
Wouldnt mind seeing this class being the lowest mag dps and being completely irrelevant
soooo the video you posted the guy is complaing a sorc crushing him with meteor because thats a sorc ability? I am confused.
The PVP Sorcs are strong and pets needed a nerf. for PVE,, the pets are pretty much sorc's identity and they have been nerfed so hard that they are not worth using in PVE vs other skills. So, the sorcs will supplement with skills that are readily available to other classes. As far as PVE goes (at least) why play sorc?
