What do you like? I've been fooling around with Eve online and Warframe, but am still looking for a good replacement.

@ OP: No idea. After reading the patch notes, I dropped my trials guilds, cleared my friends list, resigned from guild officer positions and haven't done anything but clean-up inventory and collect the daily log-in reward. Most of my ESO time this week has been spent venting on the forums, and I think once I find a replacement mmorpg, I'll be done with that, too. Cheers!

Not a single person I consider a friend, is pleased about these changes. A lot of them are considering leaving the game.

Honestly, most of them were probably leaving the game soon anyway and this is just an excuse to do so and point a finger.

There is absolutely nothing in this patch worth quitting over if you truly like ESO. People come and go all the time in MMORPG's. Those that stay, stay because of the universe the game is set in and it's base gameplay.

    Some combination of these:
    Wait and see.
    Grind for transmutes and tempers/rosin/wax.
Test the actual changes in actual combat on PTS...not just read tooltips in isolation or moan because dummy parses maybe lower...
Wait for Hodor to clear the new trial/dungeons on vet hardmode on PTS and watch their vids then corner the market on the latest BiS before Alcast posts it after release.
Just copy Alcast on release day.
Theorycraft a unique PvP build to suit playstyle performance and group.

ie pretty much the same as we always do.

    Same here.

My opinion is that dps needed to be nerf. Numbers were too high like crazy. So it is fair... But i can understand how frustrating it is to see your number fall...

But the healing ? Wtf ? Now there is some mechanics i dont even have a clue how the ZOS team want us to pass through (vCR+3 execute phase / vHoF execute phase come in my mind).

I agree also with the orb nerf (im a main healer since One Tamriel so i think i know of what i am talking about), it was needed but only one at a time ? Worst nerf ever. BUT they sayed that orb in a futur pts release (maybe Next week ? Idk) will be activable multiple time.

So this, IN MY OPINION is a far better nerf and i welcome that... But right Now, with the current pts, i dont know how you could think of an other healer than templar (of course if you want to score, and im speaking about vet trial hm, not normal fungal grotto).

Templar become better healer than they already are and take an other stap ahead from the other class... And i can said that cause i played all classes as a healer

Right Now all we can do is wait for the monday patch note and hope for something to replace the current pts healing springs... (RIP my beautiful Master Resto Staff </3)

All of my guild members have been playing since beta, only one is around occasionally now. It sucks because I have a year membership and the only time I log in is to get the daily reward and sometimes not even that. As for the patch, yeah not liking it. My guild members thought there was way too much nerfing as it was. They just constantly nerf instead of buffing other classes. This has been an ongoing thing for a long time. People get frustrated and leave the game.

I logged on the PTS on my DK Tank, grabbed my duo buddy who was on his healer and said "I need to test my tank quickly. We're going to port to a normal trial. I want the boss to wail on me and I need you to keep me alive.' This was just a sustain test and absorb "missle" (lol) overlook to see if I wanted it anymore.

I think most of the changes are good, but the damage shield nerfs are way too extreme. Here are some of the GOOD changes:

    1) Buffs to solo healing
    2) Nerfs to zerg healing.
    3) Lots of new single target DOTs.
    4) Undaunted line in Crown Store.
    5) Standardization of abilities' damage, healing etc.

Looks good, fits my play style.

Dont use Damage shields much , mostly only on my Socs. Always seemed to be a spamable "Cheat" imo anyways.

Ppl are sick of nerfs & losing class identy. They are also afraid thet playing & trying to improve will become pointless since progresdion is taken away by nerfs.

Personaly, I think that some nerfs (just a tiny portion of them) justified, but most of them are not. WW Pack Leader is a good example. Some ww nerfs are justfied, but what ZOS has done to Pack Leader is unaceptable.

Not a single word on performance in the patch notes. They won't get a single € from me or my guildies while Cyrodiil's performance isn't fixed.

Then about the changes, nothing will change :

    - the heavy armor meta will remain the same as some sets remain overpowered (7th Legion, Ravager, even Fury),

    - it's still too easy to stack armor and stay ultra tanky with strong offensive options,

    - the shield ultimate is still too cheap and allows too much survivability, especially combined with vampire mist form.

    - they reduced bolt escape cost augment to 33% instead of 50%. I wonder who is the GENIUS that had this idea. I mean seriously, good sorcs can already TP nearly endlessly with the 50% debuff thanks to class/stuff/pots mechanics. It should have been upped to 100%.

    etc etc.

As we say in french, "beaucoup de bruit pour rien".

Of the three people I regularly play with on here, two went nuclear over these patch notes, unsubbed and deleted the game.

I've known them for years. They're not coming back.

My wife's mourning the death of our ESO group and is pissed that these hatchet and chainsaw patches have finally put the final nail in not only our friends' tolerance for garbage, but has pissed me off right along with them for the same exact reasons.

We got together last night, made dinner and complained for hours amongst ourselves about the trend of mmo development to be a race for the bottom and how we're all quite tired of the common realities of modern mmo's, even though we all really wish we could play one together that wasn't a shifty pile of gimmicks and utterly abominable design practices.

We're probably going to give FF14 another try, though none of us are particularly excited about it.

People that I know who have been on the fence about ESO, actually canceled their subs. But these are people who have played since beta, like myself, and I think that it just gets to the point where you get tired of reinventing the wheel all the time. Prob just too much at once. I have also changed my playing habits, and prob will cancel my sub, but still check in. I

I hear you. My sub was running out in 3 days, so I figured this was a good time to do something else for the summer and into the fall.

For myself, it was the additional 30% Warden nerf that tipped the scales, and the healing changes. They just keep kicking the Warden in the stones for no reason whatsoever and it doesn't make sense. First round was Murkmire when they nerfed the bear by 30% and entirely removed the damage from one of the other abilities. Now they are nuking something else. WHY??

I'm getting the feeling that Wrobel wasn't the problem after all.

WoW Classic is opening it's servers very soon. FFXIV is solid. Warframe. EQ2 if you like hopping on progression servers. ..and Pantheon (AKA EQ3) within 2 years.

As far as myself, I jump into PVP every now and then, and casually I doubt I'll see too much of a difference. The tank meta is more of a problem than anything there as far as my personal play experience is concerned, and the patch isn't doing much to address that.

For my own PVE experience, overworld will be a bit more annoying, dungeons will be harder to PUG, and I straight up am going to struggle with trials if I ever decide to do those again after these horrendous changes. My primary concern is how healing is going to simply suck for non-Templars, and require a lot more investment in healing than other abilities. My off-healer Nightblade tank (which was very difficult to build and play, but works wonders in trials) is simply dead, for example. A lot of people not on the forums I know are also really frustrated with these changes if they go through, and I know a hell of a lot of fellow console players are going to be pissed off too if the changes happen, as they don't keep up on the forums like I do.

As far as my RP guild goes, most people are annoyed at least with the patch, for their personal gameplay, but for all RP aspects I think most people are just trying to ignore the changes. I can guarantee however that the large influx of players we are having because of Elsweyr combined with the guild finder is going to all but disappear if people end up leaving the game like it looks like they will.

I'm sure a large portion of the playerbase will remain, for either being too casual to care, or too invested in the game to quit now, or some other reason, but there are a lot that will be kept from enjoying the game like they want and a good amount of new players that quit because they can't get into endgame, not for lack of understanding the confusing combat system, but for lack of good tools to help them be effective in harder content.

tl;dr As far as I can see, DPS may be potentially higher, but it's still gated to more casual players, and support is getting gutted in favor of individually OP builds. On top of that, some abilities and classes are getting nerfed such that they actually lessen balance. My and my friends' reaction to the patch? Apathy and sadness.

My good dungeon-running buddy broke the news to me, suggested we go to Runescape lol

I’m in denial, I have no idea how any mag healers will adjust AND still be a welcome addition to all PvE content... even more meta-Templars tbh.

Also: nerfing Wardens again, thanks, we were TOTALLY in need of that of all things /s

I would feel better if at least they did bug fixing patches before big gameplay changes. It gets hard to clear vDLC HM when it’s bugging out and wiping your group cuz it’s broken AF. I can’t imagine trying to do it with the new changes.

I've been watching this whole tanky PvP phenomenon grow too, and I used to sneer at the tanks and think "what a bunch of weak scrubs", but I've started to figure out WHY it's happening, or at least I think I might have. DMG in Cyrodil is freaking insane. DMG in the entire game is out of control. Zos just keeps pumping out sets capable of stacking more and more dmg, both buildable and in proc form, and it's too much. Playing tanky sucks. It's stupidly, mind numbingly boring and you're slow and can (unless you're stam) do almost no significant dmg. But it becomes necessary when one player can take down 20 in the span of 5 seconds with a shield bash. It becomes necessary when one player can one shot a veteran player with a decent build. It becomes necessary when someone can proc up to 10k dmg on their character sheet. The heavy armor meta isn't the cause of our problems in PvP...it's the effect of another problem, and it's one that keeps getting worse and worse as Zos keeps finding new ways to lure people into the game with flashier and more dmg intensive sets and classes with each new expansion.

Ease up on the dmg growth (and revert some of it) and the tank meta will subside naturally. Very few people actually want to play like that (let's face it...it's a pretty trash playstyle), but many are forced to if they don't want to be smashed by a cheese chasing try-hard every 30 seconds. I think reducing the amount of dmg a single player can do will also work wonders for breaking people back up into smaller groups in Cyrodil, rather than herding them into safer mega-packs.

Everyone I know quit awhile ago. Everyone has jobs and families so don't want to relearn their chars mechanics every time a new patch comes out. I'm still playing because I tend to focus on mainly one character. It's easier for me to readjust playing my class. It's getting old though , if there comes a decent alternative I'm ready to put this out to pasture for awhile.
