Lag is terrible. Multiple issues.

Party menus don't load all the way. Leader icons don't show until 10 minutes later. Changing party leaders does not register and no one in the group can invite until the leader actually changed minutes later.
Zoning takes 5 - 10 minutes.
Logging in is a gamble.
Chat lag is 1 minute behind.
Inventory lag.
Combat lag. Attacks are delayed.

No its not my internet...other MMOs work fine.

Kinda wonder if this mega server idea is poorly implemented. They should have just had multiple servers and allowed a cross realm implementation like what wow and even guild wars 2 is doing now.

It's Sunday April 13th. The guild chats, loading screens, banks, whispers, group are all >1 minute or more to go from the player pushing enter to showing up in chat. This is unacceptable.

They know that it isn't your internet. It's the first Sunday after official launch. Consider today a stress test. Literally NO MMO works smoothly the first week after launch. Considering the timing, the game is running wonderfully as a whole. If you want full stability, I'd wait 30-60 days until logging in again. Let's give them the time they need. In the mean time, I'll go spend some time with my family, eat some dinner, and get ready for Game of Thrones by watching... Game of Thrones.

It is because of the one server technology they are using. Multiple MMO'S tried before them and failed to use the megaserver technology.
Yes, it saves a fortune in costs, but this is one of the side effects of so many people accessing one server, it puts it under stress and as thus access times and data retrieval are delayed.

This is why in built up areas such as Skywatch, you run 4 steps and system hangs to catch up with data buiffer, you run again and it is random as to when it happens, i get it a lot too.

Wait till they move the EU server to Europe rather than NA and lets see if access times improve, it may work just fine after they do that.

I'm having these issues on the NA server... chat is really laggy and loading screens take all day or I just get DC'd

actually i have played a few others at launch and they all of course had glitches and bugs, but most were at least playable. now im trying to think of some, like Aion and WAR, they were playable at launch, FFXIV, SWTOR, actually, I can't think of any that were not at least playable, can you?

It's the weekend. You will have to expect this for a month or two till the population QUITS to the point the server load isn't affecting the game.

They will not be buying more capacity.. ever. They know the pop will drop and this will not be an issue at peak anymore.

I was playing fine for 4 hours. All of this lag started getting really bad about 20 minutes ago. I was zoning in 30 seconds now I sit on a loading screen for 5-10 minutes before I close the program and relog in.

I'm currently lagging 5 minutes in guild chat. I type something in the guild chat window and roughly 5 minutes later it shows up.

so, you think zos won't care to keep as many customers as possible, and instead of hurrying up to fix this, they actually want and are waiting for people to leave, and that's the fix? In my experience, populations drop overtime, for different reasons, and one of them is tech issues that don't get resolved. All I know is that if they want to keep me, they will pony up and be giving some crap away to us for paying for an unplayable game.

I first have to say that Fatty_Liver's post is a must do. It does not resolve my lag issues (which aren't gameplay based) but does improve some game play latency by a bit, just like it says.

However, The Guilds/Guild Store/Guild Chat/Whisper business; this is still a problem, Monday morning, for me. Whispers and guild chat are ~2 minutes delayed. Loading screens to other zones are longer than before (10+ minutes, instead of previously being 30 seconds or so). However, in-zone loads (like into the bank house) are still almost instant. Guild store posting is also EXTREMELY laggy. Sometimes taking several minutes for "please wait for your previous posting to finish" bit to actually finish.

Someone suggested that we need to expect this for a month or two? Get out of here with that shiet. Not only did the devs boast of their overflow servers and promise a lag free experience (Matt Firor ZeniMax Lead Dev) BUT even ZOS staff acknowledged the lag problem and guild functionality problems.
