I'm sorry, WHAT? No one is talking about this?

If it's going to remain unbreakable, then it needs to only apply to a few targets, ideally just the caster. I'm all for skills that punish you for attacking somebody, but not everybody. Maybe have casting Eclipse mark everybody near the caster, and attacking them reflects damage back at you, or maybe just make attacking the caster reflect damage back at you.

Snare, root, then stun. So can you CC break each component soft/hard CC?

What happens if I am root/snare/cc immune, can the skill be cast on me?

Seems like everyone in this thread missed the "DIRECT DAMAGE" part,

Single Target DoTs (make sure to test on PTS those with a Direct Damage portion, if those count too, then it should be fixed)
as well as AoE's both ground and PbAoE will still go through.

Just use your brain when Eclipsed and don't use any Direct Damage attack. You can just otherwise ignore the skill.

    You're welcome.

So anyone who isn't a zerglings relying on 23 other people are screwed and that's ok?
90% of most people offensive skills are direct damage, unless your a zergling spamming impuse or whirlwind.
    Seems balanced....

Yeah, there was a time when that thing was unbreakable, it was *** broken, i dont understand what zos thought when they put that patch together.

Well just another proof that devs of zos doent play the game, they are just "killing it"

Sometimes I think their approach is to nerf random things to force the meta to keep changing, and stop the endgame from becoming stale.

Pointless changes but they are admittedly still fun to have to re-work things to compensate for.

The people saying "just use DoTs" don't seem to realize that the majority of DoT abilities deal Direct Damage on the initial hit, which will trigger the Eclipse effect. The only viable counter to the reworked Eclipse is purging, which is still not reliably available to most build specs.

This skill needs some sort of viable counterplay. If it goes live like this pvp is going to be miserable.

Are your skills locked permanently to your bar? Is your build set in stone forever?
If the answer is no, then L2P and adapt.

    "Dawn’s Wrath
Eclipse: Reworked this ability and its morphs so you will now envelop your target in a sphere of darkness for 4 seconds, which harms them anytime they use a Direct Damage attack.
Their first attack causes the sphere to hinder them, reducing their Movement Speed by 30% for 4 seconds.
Their second attack causes the sphere to entangle them, immobilizing them for 3 seconds.
Their third attack causes the sphere to smother them, stunning them for 3 seconds.
These effect can only occur once every second.
Note that the sphere can no longer be CC broken early, but can still be cleansed.

Unstable Core (morph): Each time the sphere activates on the attacker, they will take damage. This damage increases based on the stage the sphere is currently in."

Are you out of your minds? Where and what is the counterplay to this? You either have a purge, or you become a punching bag. You can't CC-break, it doesn't give you CC-immunity, and can be recast on the target immediately afterwards before no immunity is given? What the actual **** are you thinking?

I know this patch is divisive and people are already up in arms about other changes and nerfs (I am too about some) But if this goes live it is guaranteed to be the most OP thing in the game mark my words. Templars are going to slot this in PvP and become utterly unstoppable. NO ONE is going to be able to win fights while getting smothered by this asininely overpowered ability.

"Just don't attack" is not the answer, because even if you could, absurdly, heal through 4 seconds of all-out damage from an opponent you can't put pressure on, they'll just put it on you AGAIN at the end.
You can't even pay Stam to get out of it every 4-6 seconds. You're ****ing STUCK in it.
Lucky enough to have purge? Grats, you just paid 5-7K Magicka (or 2K health in the Necro's case) to TRY to purge it, hoping it gets THAT effect. And after all that, assuming it does get the Eclipse.........
*Boop* oh look, it's on you again. :|

Why don't you just make it a 4 second unbreakable stun with no immunity so we can just lay down and DIE when it's put on us. -__-

People are not understanding how good of a counter this is going to be... it will pretty much alleviate all pressure if you just throw this up on someone who is putting to much pressure on yourself or a team-mate in the middle of their attacks. This is going to be a huge counter to all melee.

The immobilization and range is overkill.

It's pretty much 28 meter fossilize....

It will get nerfed. It is on the same level of ridiculousness as Incap was before it got the quick nerf

They don't learn lessons and they contradict past actions.
