Crafting disparity

I really don't "get" why some crafts are so easy to level while others are ridiculously difficult.

I haven't put a thing into provisions but yet its all the way up at lvl 21. I find recipes, collect items and then make 10 of that item and my bar advances quite a bit each time (granted the items made have to be close to your lvl)

But then with things like Enchanting.......I enchant, deconstruct, create like crazy and each time the bar barely moves (even for found items). I'm currently lvl 12 in it while again my provisioning is 21? (yes I know about the extracting other peoples glyphs but am not in a trading guild atm)

Also my blacksmithing is sitting around 9 and crafting same lvl items barely causes my bar to move while wasting my materials.

So are there any tips that will help (besides getting a crafting buddy)?

I think the reason for this is that it isn't really necessary to create gear for your level. My blacksmithing is level 14, I'm level 17, I haven't gone to extremes to level it, just deconned what I've found, and can still make gear for my level and up to 24 I think.

Stop creating. Start breaking stuff. When you find a friend that you can work with and start breaking their stuff, you will wonder why you didn't find a friend sooner.

Crafting isn't leveled by creating, but by deconstructing. Your combines will yield very little crafting XP, but deconstructing yields quite a bit. The powerlevel approach is to craft items and then trade them with another crafter who has crafted items, and then deconstruct the other person's items for a lot of crafting XP.

Provisioning is different because it isn't really that critical. Temporary buffs are nice, but it's very different from a piece of standing gear or an enchant. The same holds true, to a lesser extent, for alchemy. Consumables are treated differently, because they are simply less useful than gear, and therefore it's easier to level them, generally (especially the temporary buffs from good and drink).

The devs said somewhere (don't have the link handy) that provisioning was designed to be the most casual and easiest to level profession. Alchemy and enchanting were intended to be middle-of-the-road in terms of time commitment. Lastly, cloth and blacksmith are intended to be the "hardcore" (dev's words) crafts.

I'm pretty sure enchanting is leveling slower than intended. I know there are some on here saying that they have enchanting super high, but I would guess just having enchanting on-level would put you at least 2 standard deviations above the mean.

I agree that enchanting seems a bit off that, and slower markedly than alchemy.

It makes intuitive sense to me that the professions that can craft weapons and armor are harder/slower to level, given the primary importance of gear in an MMO.
