Offense-oriented heavy armor sets took some nerfs with 5.1 (Veiled Heritance especially - it's completely useless now). There are also a lot of other changes to a large number of skills, so keep that in mind. Destructive Reach, Entropy, Soul Trap, the newly improved Skeletal Mage, and partially un-nerfed Blastbones should all combine to help Necromancer offense quite a bit. But yes, CC access is certainly a problem. I think we're kind of forced into being Stage 4 Vampires, and limited to using Drain with it's 12m range.Wonderful. So now if I want to stun someone on MagicaNecro I have to be right on top of them. It will feel great when fighting StamDK heavy armour meta. RIP Necros

Also magsorc and magblade are now forced to get closer to their targets to cc them. I guess the only ranged class should be bowblades with their FREE CC from a stealthed snipe wich got buffed btw. I really dont like where this is going.

The name of the game is simple. You spam stamina drain poisons, and stuns, until the target runs out of stamina, then you stun them and kill them. Fossilize is just the most notable way of doing it as its so its so stamina-draining efficient and plays directly into the DKs whip.
Permafrost, Ice Mages, WW Fear, Sorc Curse. Play any duel and the first thing half the duelists in the game do is opener, stun, finisher. Beat that and they'l spam you with CC until you cant break free.

Destructive Reach(sic) (morph): This morph retains the unique functionality for each elemental staff type you choose, but no longer deals damage over time. Flame Clench knocks the target back and stuns them for the duration; Frost Clench Immobilizes the target. Shock converts the attack into an AoE explosion, and deals our AoE damage standard.
Destructive Reach (morph): This morph increases the range to 28 meters and reduces the cost to 2430 at Rank IV.

Or you can just counter CC and watch your stam by using tri stat food, tri stat potion or heavy attacks from stam "weapons".
I saw many duels. Maaany. Also duels between magicka chars that where CCing each other on cooldown. Never saw someone Ran out of stam cause they watched their stamina sustain.
Hmmm, I didn't pay close attention, but I don't remember seeing numbers anywhere close to that on my Warden (no Master's Staff). I literally just said clench doesn’t have a dot now.
It’s even shown on pts that shock clench does not stun. So you’re incorrect on how r gained a cc
