1) ZOS implement intentionally grindy progress mechanics.
2) Players complain about grind.
3) ZOS "saves the day" by adding a bypass for the grind to the Crown Store.
4) Go to 1.
It's been this way since the release of the Glass Motif (motif chapters, not books, based on double RNG). The community failed to present a significant or organised front against the change. ZOS's experiment proved a financial success. Queue more of the above.
Nothing will be updated with regards to these progression systems now. To do so would cost ZOS money in development time and assets, and in Crown Store sales. See horse riding for reference.
So not only are ZOS intentionally implementing player-unfriendly systems to drive eventual Crown Store sales... people are actually thanking them for it.

Yes the progression is instantaneous (barring you have completed already and have the mullah to spend), but it doesn’t prevent you from obtaining the same skill albeit at slower pace. Still not pay to win.
Its actually disgusting and im surprised anyone would be happy about this.
Ya its a needed change, but because zos is so god damn greedy its on the crown store. Personally i dont like getting walked on. If they put these things in the game now, for gold or an achievement or something, I would praise it. But in the crown store? No.
And what makes it so much more disgusting is the fact that console still does not have lorebooks and skyshards built into the map of the base game. Meaning that its a thousand times harder for us to grind those things than it is for PC players.. So of course more console players will be enticed to buy these things without having access to the same tools as PC players do.
And psijic also, but thats nowhere near as big of a deal. But mages guild and skyshards are. Its mind blowing how they just dont care and put these things out anyway. * In the end it will make my life easier. I dont mind paying for them, but I wont thank them for walking on their players. Maybe when console has lorebooks and skyshards, but its still grimey to put it on the crown store. It would just be less grimey.
ESO is now P2W. Lol
