Crawlers/Worms in Clothing Nodes

I'm coming across a lot of the thread nodes where the thread was picked up but the crawlers/worms were left behind.

Can these be made to where if someone loots the thread and not the crawlers/worms that the plant will still disappear? It's a bit frustrating to find a node and for there only to be junk left.

Or another solution could be to remove the bugs from the thread and make new "dirt" piles where you have to dig up the fishing bait.

i haven't see such leftover worms so far, but i would really like your second solution.

    Thanks!

I've come across quite a few of these (around 30ish) where only the bait is left. But I've also done a ton of collecting to try and level my crafting.

As someone who is guilty of leaving behind "empty" nodes I am fully in agreement with this suggestion. That or the disappearing after the "main" ingredient of the node is removed.

I am not intrested in fishing. I will never be interested in fishing.
I won't pick the crawlers up only to throw them away again since they are worth zero and even that single slot in my bag is far to important for them.

Bait in the nodes only causes extra work (me having to sort them out of the inventory and throw them away) or annoyances for everyone (finding "empty" nodes).

I always loot them just because of how much I dislike seeing them, I wouldn't want to do that to someone else!

I know it's a small issue but hopefully this matter will get looked into.

agreed hate being that guy that leaves the slimy stuff behind. Pack space is already limited enough. Bait seems pretty easily obtained and clothing already shares mats for 2 armor types no need to toss a 3rd mostly unwanted item in the mix.

I have to say that i am also one of those guys.
I'm not interested in fishing and i'm not interesting in deleting the bait every single time, so i only gather the plants and leave the works and crawlers behind.
Kind of a bad move, but i'm a very lazy man.
I would like to see the bait removed from the nodes or the node getting removed after the plant has been looted.

Can we just agree that these worms and crawlers really need to go? Like, permanently? If I would ever want bait to, heaven forfend, fish; I would dig it out of the ground like a real fisherman, not pick it out of flax.

Glad to see this topic got so many bites this fast!

I do like the fishing in this game and it's fun to find your own bait, but keep it out of my Clothing nodes!

I just wish Fishing was actually useful.
All fish are good for is to vendor it off. There are rare fish around, but i'm not willing to waste my time for 5 achievement points or however much you get.

Even more troubling is the "plump worm" variety that for some unholy purpose have been labeled as "ingredient for food." XD

As someone that spends countless hours foraging for crafting, I know exactly how this ends up happening. Bags fill up, crafting materials stack when hitting "loot all", but there's no space for the fishing stuff so the person just moves on. Personally, I will take the ~2 seconds required to open my bags, discard one random thing, loot the worms, then discard them, because leaving someone else with worms is like leaving an undated garage sale sign up a week after it is ended.

I agree with the idea of clearing the node if the primary ingredient is looted.

Not able to edit... I wanted to add that I really wish fish were used in some epic cooking recipes, since fish is so delicious, but I digress. :p

This is exactly what I do. ^_^

I also like your idea of fishing recipes, I was surprised when I couldn't cook the fish!

This wouldn't be a problem if players completely looted the node before moving on. Apparently players are lazy and inconsiderate. I agree these nodes need to despawn after their crafting ingredient is removed.

I would pick them up, they may be junk, but you can sell them for a few gold pieces, and since I'm in the early stages any cash is good cash.

Crawlers and worms are worth 0 gold.

Alex, you aren't getting gold from them unfortunately. They are vendorable but you get no gold in return.

Besides that, this has nothing to do with the issue at hand. I want to find thread nodes with thread still attached! Not just worms...

If fishing was useful.. (cooking hint hint).. i wouldnt mind picking them up.. well i always do pick them up but as soon as im running low on bag space.. you know what the first thing to be destroyed will be dont ya :P..
they sell for 0 and are useless there is no point keeping them at the moment.. once fishing becomes useful then yeah sure put the worms crawlers and insect parts in ill happily use them.

I usually pick them up. But I agree, if you pick up the "main" item the node has in it, if other items are left behind, it should despawn/respawn the node after a short time, rather than leaving what looks like a plant but is really just worms behind.

Yes pls, it is so annoying having dismounted, killed mobs and then looted the node only to find some idiot just left worms in it...

Read my third comment, I know it's a small issue and hope it gets looked into *in the future* (guess I should phrase everything perfectly for the trolls).

Thanks everyone else for being understanding of an annoying *small* non-game breaking issue.

I didnt know they persist with only the worms in them, I often left the worms behind due to lack of inventory space and thought they would respawn. now that i know ill be sure to kill em off, but i seriously wish i could auto vendor the worms or any other trash crap without having to do it manually
