Fight clubs for in game gold?

aCraftyMooss255
Show of hands would anyone on the Xbox One NA mega server be interested in me hosting fight clubs where both combatants bet gold to see who wins? For example we meet a couple times a week, two combatants bet gold against each other, hand me the pot and I bestow it to the victor to avoid any salty take backs. Eventually getting a crowd involved and so on. I think it'll be a fun spin on duels and give more incentive to duel one another after getting the duelist achievement.

I don't play on console, but i'd just say, it sounds good. But if it was large sums of gold being bet, how do we know you won't just run away shouting "so long suckers"! :p

I think you need to remove the betting part as gambling would be an issue.

What you can do is have a specific entry fee for a tournament that everyone has to pay and divide that up into prizes for those that place in the top of the tournament.

If you keep it as betting I am wiling to wager that Zos will close this thread or even delete it.

Frankly I am very surprised that more guilds and players in general do not organise tournaments. In fact that is exactly what I am going to look into this weekend!

Within a guild context it should be fairly easy to sort out a round robin &/or knock out tourney, call for entry money, split up the prize pool among the top 3, with a reasonable fee from the pool donated to the guild bank, everyone is a winner! (well, unless you finish outside the top 3 lol).

Wouldn't that be a tad hypocritical of ZOS to take a judgemental stance on gambling? Since they do sell crown crates which are a form of gambling.

I like your idea about the fee though, that way the pot for the winner could be larger and if the organizer did run off with the gold then each individual would of only lost a small amount of gold as opposed to a large bet between 2 duelers.

The fee is standard for tournaments. As for the question, I am not going to get into inane and pointless questions.

It's not really a pointless question. You claimed ZOS may have issue with the idea of betting, I am not disputing your claim one way or another, I don't know if they would or not. But assuming you're correct in your statement, then I think it's fair to highlight the double standards or not wanting players to bet in game gold and at the same time encouraging players to bet real world money in their crown store :)

Imo betting of in-game gold can't be considered gambling. As for crown crates, they are pure blooded slot machine, I agree there is no point to argue on this obvious fact.

Talking about setting up a betting scheme in the forums is not the same as whatever you do in game. That should seem pretty obvious.

There seems to be some concern that this is against the T&C. Whether it is or not, if it ever happens please for the love of God do not do it in the middle of any city or next to any wayshrine with limited space to pass by! We have enough idiots causing commotion next to wayshrines, dueling, spamming spells, jumping around, swiping weapons or fists at passersby, riding your horse in circles in crowded areas, riding back & forth through the wayshrine, throwing mud balls and pies at strangers when the events for those are long over (throwing at friends and guild mates is an entirely different thing)... We don't need any more crap going on next to shrines or in crowded cities. Take your group out to the middle of nowhere and do it there. The dragon landing pads in Elsweyr are large and open with no enemies in the middle of them. Dragons may only land at any given spot every 15-20 minutes since each area has half a dozen different places for the dragon to choose from, and dragons alternate areas of the map. Just pay attention and when a dragon picks your area, kill it as another fun group activity. Just keep the dueling club out of the cities, please.

In regards to the first comment and I'm new here so I'm not sure how to directly comment on a comment but I only play on one account and I wouldn't risk getting permanently banned over some dumb way to get rich quick lol. I wouldn't directly be profiting from it unless I duel as well. I would just be holding the pot to avoid any salty take backs. It's inspired by the Arena in Oblivion and all my ranks match the Arena's ranks from Oblivion. I have it set up with each rank having a minimum bet amount and their rank makes their minimum bet go higher. Starting from 1k, 2k, 3k, 4k, 6k, 8k, 10k and 15k for the champion. Bets of any amount are allowed and encouraged. But hey this is getting positive feedback so if anyone is on Xbox One NA let me know! I really need people. Ranking up and down you will need to win five official fights in a row to rank up and to lose rank you would need to lose three official fights in a row.

Also I did plan on getting everyone a free trader as a little bonus once I start getting more fighters.
