Is Imperial City better, or worse since the update?

I actually enjoy beating up daedra for Tel Var, but the constant gankers looming since the update has made me reconsider playing anything other than a nightblade when I go there. I think it's gotten far worse now that it's easier to access, but then again, I'm trash at the game so what do I know. What do you think?

I'd say it's samey. Tel Var grind is still exhausting, you still can get ganked pretty easily. Little less people switching characters to get to kill you, easier acces avoiding additional loading screens and a horse ride, but less options for campaign.

They've added a tel var value to Molag Bal for PvE players and there is a few people scattered round but not much going on there still.

Needs to be an incentive to be there other than a basic amount of telvar. I'd up the telvar gain in the sewers, based on the doors and districts above - Or add alternative capture points beneath that give bonuses in the tunnels.

The door in the sewer base needs to act as a wayshrine or let us tele out of the base to wherever we want to go. If I want to leave, I have to go through multiple load screens to get where I should have got in one.

I'm enjoying it now. Though, because of the gankers and frequent presence of groups of two or three players, I only play the CP campaign... Otherwise, I doubt It'd be fun.

If you want it to be better, remove the tel var loss on PvP death, and make a PvP kill award a statistic amount of stones (diminishing if you're killing the same person repeatedly over a short period of time).

And if you want to make it truly great, create a new PvE campaign. That way both PvPers and PvEers can both play the way they want to.

the entire IC needs an overhaul, the most glaring mechanic that breaks the fun there imo, is how fast some ppl can respawn if you kill them and their faction holds that district.

Still at times has boosters and flag flippers, but nothing much has changed. Other than more resources needed for sewer bosses.
Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

I am going to be 100% honest and that my response as 100% bias because....

I liked dead IC because then I could easily grind for the stones to get alchemy mats to make myself and my boyfriend potions. Now I can't farm as easily and it's easier to just farm overland now so I don't go in IC anymore for TelVar, only to fight players. TelVar is only a bonus now but it's just easier for small scale PVP when my bf and I don't want to deal with zergs in Cyrodiil.

So it's better for the PVPers who wanted more action in IC.
It's worse for the farmers like myself.

The fact that it is much easier to get there in itself is a huge improvement. You no longer have to queue into Cyrodiil and then run to the center of the map just to get access IC.

This is never a good idea.

Back in the day, if you had 5k stones on you, you were shitting your pants and because it took a strong and efficient solo player an ~hour to farm 10k stones that were worth 120k gold, losing 80% of it was a huge deal.

Now you can solo farm >150k an hour and can even do >50k P/H just killing adds in an owned district and if you die you lose 50%.

As it stands right now, unless you're someone who runs around with 300k on you, you don't really lose much for a death, even 100k stones you only lose 50k, that's 3 bosses solo, you're talking 15 minutes.

If anything, the TV loss should be back at 80% as 99.9% of the time, it's quicker to farm the bosses yourself than it is to find people and make the same amount in 50% splits.

That is a bit of an issue, nobody wants to pack someone up and have them run back in 14s with full resources. Especially when the opposing group size is bigger than yours.

They should just add a 30s timer on death until you can respawn and force said respawn at the base (If you've taken or dealt player damage) - That gives people at least a minute and a half without the players they've packed up already.

It's just not really great pvp there anymore without heavy coordination.

But it is better for one simple reason - the Cyrodiil population is now separate. In that regard the change was fundamentally necessary.

Probably an unpopular opinion here, but I think giving each faction the two, or at least one district(s) that connect(s) closest to their base would be a good idea. It's quite annoying when one faction is completely stomping the others because of a huge group. I still think losing Tel Var on death is a good idea, and that any player should be able to enter any district. But giving each faction at least one permanent district would give players a guaranteed place to farm faster, while still keeping the risk of enemy players killing taking a cut. With the Imperial City now being separate, I just think it's pointless to force it into the same dynamic as Cyrodiil.

I'm really glad its populated, but it's just the same unkillable zerg ball groups that roll you over with AoE's and have a minimum of six healers in the group.
So, while it's good to see other players there, it's almost impossible for solo/small scale players.

Be careful what you ask for, I guess.
