Exactly this! They all spiral, and ZoS Devs and Reps don't ever show up to communicate any at all! Therefore, they are all non-constructive!! Unless we "need" something nerfed!

    Nerf this thread
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.
Is the glass half full or half empty?
I say, "Get a smaller glass."

"Constructive" is a euphemism for extolling the noble virtues of the forum owners. But realistically, people make more noise when you strike them with a switch than when you tickle them with a feather.

I would be curious to see the constructive and non-constructive threads separated into lists, and see what percentage falls into each category.

Welcome to every single gaming board ever, where people will either never be satisfied with anything, or will blow even the tiniest issue out of proportion.

No wonder why devs hardly communicate with players in boards like this.

And no, I'm not saying you shouldn't voice your concerns or feedback about issues you're having with the game, but you just come up raging like a kid throwing a tantrum, don't be surprised if your topic is ignored and your complaint is not taken seriously. Also don't expect they'll change something, just because you, or a vocal minority that thinks they're the majority, just because they're making a loud, disagrees with it.

Funny how everyone is allowed to have their opinion and frustrations but voicing them is non-constructive, as if we, the continously ignored community, had any way of actually being constructive with no power in our hands.
As long as things don't get toxic, it doesn't even make a difference what is being talked about if the Dev's don't engage with anyone anyway. So what's the point.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

@Eraldus Well, this isn't about one of your average PvP mimimi thread. This is about a 89 page forum thread with more than 149 supporting awesomes/agrees being closed for being "non-constructive" when it in fact has been constructive consistently. That thread wasn't a tantrum being thrown. This one is, because always trying to be nice is non-constructive and spiraling apparently.

I dont mind rant topics. I just dont comment there.
But topics related to game features with start going down hill from the very first reply. Why? Social media rage. People have to prove others worse than themselves while annononimous.

Maybe its comments like yours that are the reason some threads get closed. Its clearly trying to bait pvp players, why even go there? Because you are upset? I get it but just because an issue isnt important to you doesn't mean its not an issue. Even though I dont care about the thread, or what the thread was about, I still find it troubling that they would close it for what looks like no good reason.

Not sure why so many people on here dont care about any issues until its their issue, then its a big deal. Guess thats just the world tbh.. But really, theres no need to try to agitate people because you're upset. Especially when you're complaining about a thread being closed while doing something that causes them to close threads.

I would say, there is a causality there. Why bother have a community manager when they never, you know, manage the community ? Why bother have boards when they are here only to vent and never used for feedback ?

Oh, yeah, because players will find solutions to tech issues that the people who should provide them can't even figure. Like there, for instance : https://media1.tenor.com/images/e59ca08893411feaf155f884afb88990/tenor.gif?itemid=5410455

I know, I was just messing.

There have been threads on their communication issues since launch though, I don't know why people keep expecting a sudden change from night to day in the way ZOS engages with people on the forums.

There have been points where it's better and it's better than it's been in the past, but the expectation that devs are going to sit on the forums answering in every thread isn't one which is going to be met, at least I don't see it happening.

I don't want to be negative and cynical but it's not going to change, and yet people still think more and more ranting about it will change that. ZOS' communication levels are what ZOS has chosen, we can encourage more, but if we keep expecting the unrealistic and then being mad when we don't get it then we're always going to be unhappy.

89 pages, even if they did not respond to the thread on these forums, you would have thought the topic would have been at least addressed somewhere else. ESO live perhaps, or even that reddit ama where the question was brought up three or four times, (yet apparently avoided).

It was even asked of them directly at pax east, and so far all they did was punt it.

"it has always been that way" is not an argument to keep things that way. People expect change because change is needed, simple as that.

No one expects the devs to spend their day on the boards. Heck, when I see the state of the game, I sure expect them not to. But they have a community manager, right ? What's her job, if not managing the community ? Where is she ? Why doesn't she post anything besides a onbe liner here and there, almost exclusively to acknowledge that people can't log in ? If she's overworked, they can hire someone else. They made 50 million dollars last year, i'm sure they could find a person or two to actually interact with the community, select some topics of importanced to ascend them to whoever it may concern, and give us some informations. Heck, I would do it if they did pay me for it.

I am honestly mystified as to why they closed the Bosmer stealth nerf thread. I've rarely seen a thread as relatively calm and reasoned about a subject that bothered the thread participants as much as the stealth nerf does. It's hard to read the closure as anything more than, "We don't want to hear about this anymore. Shut up and go away.", and that's profoundly disappointing.

This was in regard to the Bosmer racial traits right? I'll admit I didn't dive too deep into the thread to know specifics, but from my understanding ZOS stated they were done with the racial balance and there wouldn't be changes.

Those changes might not have been good or the ones people wanted, but ZOS made them and decided to stick to them, so that's their decision on it. In theory if and when they go back and do another pass, that thread would have been the place for the feedback needed.

If I had to take a wager, I'd say my recent outburst on how PvE is being screwed by PvP whiners and how abhorrent I find them, and also tagging Matt Firor in that same post, had something to do with it. But maybe I'm giving myself too much credit and they were just bored of us hippies smoking pipe in the backyard and talking about the goold old days.

There was months of feedback before it went live about why it was awful with no response. And now we have imperials being better at stealth then bosmers. And the best you have for a response is a shrug?

As has been said, they're recruiting more staff, but so far they don't seem to have one.

The current English CM team has loads of responsibilities beyond these forums, that's probably part of the issue.
From my understanding this is what the current CM handle: Forums communication, social media accounts, player rep programmes, patch notes & relaying information from those sources to people within the company which need it.
I'd imagine they have more roles as well.

However without any of us being at ZOS not much we can say on how they run things internally. I do continue to hold my opinion that one more active CM would be a good thing for the company. I am not sure if Sarah has taken up that role or not as she's been posting a lot of updates on the forum as well.

That is all fine and dany, and I do hope they prove me wrong. I really do. However, without a change of policy, leading to a more open communication, it seems unlikely. I would love nothing more than starting a thread thanking them for the efforts they have done to improve their communication and community management, really. Until they prove me wrong, though, I'll remain grumpy and will stop spending a cent on their products.

People thinks fixing bugs is a easy matter, just because said bug looks simple to fix, however they fail to realize that bug fixing in games is like playing Whack a Mole. Sometimes they squash the bug in question, but then two more shows up, because the fix they were planning altered the code in such a way, that it caused other unplanned issues to show up, and this is pretty common in programming.

It's just that the average person has no clue on how coding works, so they think any bug can be fixed by just doing a few changes in the game's code and then everything will be fine, and that altering one line of code doesn't affects other line of code, but that's not how things works... even more when you're dealing with a complex game like ESO, that has a lot of features.

If a bug wasn't adressed yet, it's because they're still looking for a way to fix it, without breaking something else in the process.

Greetings! This thread has been closed as it violated our community rules around spamming and baiting. While we completely understand everyone has their own opinions, thoughts, feelings and even frustrations, we want the forums to be a civil and constructive platform for the game and it's community as a whole.
