Who is the Breton in the portal in Elsweyr?

Have been running around all over this map since it came out - but tonight was a first - came across a portal, with what looked like a Breton mage (name of Betrand Landeau or similar) who made some comment about “No, this isn’t right.” And went back into portal & both vanished.

Not seen this before in years of playing - and its not one of the usual mage playing with daedric portals like in base game.

Am i going mad? Is this new, or have i just been incredibly unobservant?! 😆

I'm assuming he was added with Elsweyr, I haven't spotted him, but my partner saw him. No idea what it's all about though...

I think he does the same thing in Vvardenfell. No idea what it's about.

I saw him long ago in Vvardenfell. Just a random encounter, I suppose. There are no secret quests in this game unfortunately.

He wanted to teleport to his homeland in Daggerfall, but since he failed into creating a proper portal, he ended up... Elsweyr.

Seen that too, but not in Elsweyr. It may be just a random encounter of some mage getting a portal wrong.

Then again it could be this super long lead on to that character getting his own story in the future.

Well its nice to know that i can be surprised by things even after 4+ years playing!

Damn - never saw in Vvardenfell and done that on at least 6 characters!
