I haven't lost any game time, and wouldn't in any event be seeking or expecting compensation. These things happen, and I don't spend my life looking to cast blame and demand compensation when they do.

I've played MMORPGs since 1998 and can't recall one that offered compensation for downtime that only lasted a day or less. In this case it only lasted an evening and players with characters also on the NA server were able to play normally anyway.
As for smirking over the issue of rights, I don't see anything different in the ESO TOS compared with any others.

Just google it and ton of examples will fall out.
And amount of major failures in PC EU last month is so vast, that couple of crown crates will be a nice move to butter up community. Instead of that Mayhem is cancelled and event requiring DLC purchase is rolled out. I can easily name how such behavior is called, but I won't since I signed TOS

Heads ZOS lost, Tails they wouldn't have won.
Tbh I think anyone who owns the game should be given some form of compensation. This is an on-going issue with ESO, so ESO+ subs should be given, at the very least one free month of ESO+ added and some sort of pet/mount and crates. People who are not subbed to ESO+ should get the pet/mount.
I mentioned in another thread that I got a few "goodies" from BDO. I bought the game but returned it (so I had an account) a few months ago. Bought the game again yesterday, logged in and had a few things in the mail as compensation from down time do to a ddos a few weeks ago, and this is from a game that doesn't have any form of monthly sub at all.

a month for a day ? If it was down for 2 weeks i'd say yes, but for 1 day you should only get another day as compensation tbh.

What would you like? Something like this?

I haven't looked into the first link as it required me initially to agree to them using my data. The second link referred to several days downtime, and the third link referred to extended downtime. They don't address my point about compensation for downtime that only lasted for a day or less (and which was for unscheduled emergency maintenance).
The cancellation of Mayhem was inevitable, and if it hadn't happened then the PvPers who are complaining about the cancellation would have been complaining about the stupidity of running it given current performance issues in PvP. Heads ZOS lost, Tails they wouldn't have won.
Will ZOS be reimbursing EU ESO Plus subscribers for the loss of a days play yesterday ?
