Maybe they should do an IQ test and a critical thinking assessment before allowing new players. It would cut down on threads like this. I’m really (look, vowels!) suspicious of anyone who thinks CP correlates to skill at group content.

cp correlates to skill to some degree. cp shows that u spend time in the game. higher cp = more time.

take a real life example of someone who trained boxing for 10 years but has no talent and someone who just started out and has talent.

ofc someone with much time spend in the game should be competent to some degree no ?

Your analogy doesn’t hold up. Someone who has trained to box for years will be a better boxer than someone just starting out. Someone who has trained in sculpting for years will not be a better boxer. Someone who has trained for competitive cycling for years will not be a better boxer.

Someone who has spent years only questing and adventuring will not automatically have gear and knowledge to do dungeons. Someone who got 1000 cp by farming dolmens has zero experience with the skills and rotations needed for dungeons or trials. And someone who has run Caldwell’s silver and gold on 15 toons has probably spent far more time in the game than you, without ever stepping foot in a dungeon.

And if any of those people decide to start doing dungeons, they will have the skill level of a new player, despite playing the game for years. Because spending time doing one thing doesn’t make you competent at a completely different thing.

but doing sports will allready make u better at boxing than an average person no ? :D

    Nope.

Well, ***, I don't own a passport. And I'm not going through the hassle of bureaucracy, months of waiting and redoing it again and again because there will inevitably be a mistake to correct. I have an unusual name, at least for where I live, so I don't recall EVER having an official document done right the first time.

I've never played a game tha required me to proivide official documnets to play. The day a game does that is the day I stop playing it. Or not start playing it, depending on the case.

    where do u live

France. My real life first name is "Ulrick". Or "Ulrich", depending on who you ask. Which is a german name. My mother would spell it with a K, the state would spell it with an H. There was a law back when I was born that required the first name of a child was taken from a calendar. ANY calendar, didn't have to be christian or anything, but you needed to prove the spelling of the name was legit, or they would refuse it. So, the state never accepted the K and wrote it was an H.

My mother, stubborn as she is (fruits never fall far from the tree, I tell you), ALWAYS wrote it with a K. So did I, never even knew it wasn't the proper spelling. Which led to problems when I had my first diplomas... Or my first ID card. Or when I needed to register to social security.

Last time I had to renew my ID, I provided a proper birth certificate, with the H. Didn't care much about how it's spelled, really, I just wanted the paperwork to be good once and for all. They renewed it with a K. Didn't even read the certificate. Which, by the way, is one of the easiest counterfeit document in this country and almost never checked, so you can get a fake ID courtesy of the state... Which I happen to have unwillingly. I did provide them with the proper documents stating my first name is spelled with an H. They wrote it with a K.

So, as you can imagine, I'm not too keen on relying on official documents to allow some game time.

No, most players are horrible no matter how much they play the game just like any other mmo... and really, cp = skill? or knowledge? You know you can run alik’r dolmens if you want to level with no knowledge, effort or skill.

Why not just force every player to livestream including showing the streamer? That wouldn’t be intrusive at all, right?

Excuse me whut? I need to send my passport data to some third-party in different country because of some bot problem/low-skill players in video game? Like it was a freaking government tax inspection and not a video game?
You can't be freakin serious here, buddy?
