So what we are saying is that because someone got something in the past that other people need to be able to get it in the same way or life isn't fair?

How many people came to ESO because of Elsywer that never played this game before or had ANY idea that this big ol' house was 'given' away in a contest?

Do these players not deserve a chance to purchase this house at the same price as the Cave? or the Boat? or the Castles?

    Of course they do.

Do they deserve to get the reward for a contest that they didn't participate in?

    Of course they don't.

Things do not have to be equal for everyone for them to be fair.

Nah, that's not it. I'm not owed anything of course. I'm just voicing my opinion. There could be new event and effort to get something new with the chance of getting this as well. And I think that 150000 crown price is steep, for any house in that matter, and I was wondering if there's anyone that actually bought it right now.

I'm not of a mindset that this must be fair, but at the same time I'd like to be able to get a house that so many people got and I didn't due to my mistake.

And at the same time I don't get the appeal of exclusivity, I don't feel better knowing that someone didn't get the thing I have. I got all the indriks so far and yet I wouldn't have any problem if they were possible to get again next year. Why would I?

Same with villa, I missed it by one day due to miscalculating and I was hoping since then to be ablr to get it. And now ZOS as if to add insult to injury put it in the store for this high price, so I'm voicing my opinion and asking others for theirs. That's all. I'm not owed anything, life isn't fair, but that doesn't mean I have to sit down and not say anything.

I feel you on that, I really do, but this is one of those situations where there is a rectification to the problem, but it's just not within your justifiable spending.

Look I get it, I will never buy a house in ESO if it has to be purchased with cash. That's my own personal take on it and I don't see the value of any of those houses, but I'm all for them being for sale.

At the end of the day you have to take stock of what it is, notable houses cost a grip of money for some reason we don't understand and they gave us so far 2 of them for purchasing the chapters.

It's a longshot, but if you don't spend your alloted crowns from ESO+ you may be able to get that house next year for "free" in the same way that everyone else did.
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

I bought summerset because of the summerfall event and got it last year. I remember how some people were crying on the forums because they wanted to buy the villa furnished instead of getting it unfurnished with the event.

I wonder how the villa looks like furnished, if this is even an option.

It's very empty. I can post some screenshots later or send them to you on the PM if you want to not flood the thread unnecesarily.

Thanks. That would be nice. But I think other people who have the house already on both server would like to see the furnished version too. Maybe the Housing forum is a better place to post pictures.

Too bad they don’t have a 2k or 3k “upgrade your empty house to furnished”. I use mine to hold all my storage chests in a row by entrance for easy use.

It’s $150 for 21,000 crowns. Given the $ per crown at that rate, the house is $107.14 not $150. If you bought the crowns during the sale, the house is $75. Either you got it for free or you didn’t participate and you didn’t. You can’t complain if you didn’t do it, and the price is in line with other houses. You don’t have to buy it. You just want it and are mad about the price. It’s the same with any item for sale. Either it’s worth the price to you or it isn’t.

Yes, my mistake in calculating, I use different currency and I was going off the base crown price for the cheapest pack. 100$ is still quite a lot, especially in my country.
Do you walk into retail stores and rant out loud about how the prices are? It came completely unfurnished for free.

Actually lots of people voice their opinions on prices in many stores, on websites like this for example. No need to be condescending. That's what those sites are for. Maybe it'll change something, maybe it won't. It doesn't hurt to try. Even if they don't do anything in regard to Villa, they may consider not doing something similar in the future if enough people complain. I pay ZOS money every month so I think I'm at least entitled to voicing my opinion about what they are doing. ;)

It is a lovely house and it was very nice for us to get it for free from before, but it is just too big for me (yes i know lewd wording). Makes a better guild house.

Got my eye on that coldharbor place for my new home though, I like the idea of just building something from scratch.

I already owned it from last year, but I feel the salty emote multiplied by a thousand that the one for sale has a furnishing option. It would be nice, if they offered a Psijic Villa accessory set to go on sale along with it; In case the people who do already have it would like it to look close to the one that is being sold.

Was not ‘free’ really. Had to have bought Summerset & then jump through the hoops to get it.

I would not be happy if they just gave it away - and i guess others would also.

New players have access to a big free house with Elsweyr anyway.

Whatever Zos do, they just can’t win on these forums!
Somebody not having something in game doesn't really enchance your experience in any way, does it?

Thing about Psijiic Villa is that although it's far too difficult to furnish satisfactorily within the item limit (although there are a very few notable exceptions), the site itself is perfect for custom builds.

This is what I did with it last September:

Custom-built over-sea house in Grand Psijic Villa

Most of you have probably seen this already, but it illustrates what you can do without having to follow the usual format. Psijiic Villa is well worth the expenditure and effort, if you think outside the box....and a lot of fun.

1,500,000 gold isn't shabby for the price. I got it for free last year though. It lines up with other homes in the game.

Also crowns are 21,000 for $150 so the original post is misleading. (Price is $107.14)

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

I spent 30 minutes talking a friend of mine (who is new) OUT of buying that house. Geeze...

NEW PLAYERS who don’t really know what’s going on, see that on the crown store and want to buy it because it is a great house. They want to feel proud of it. How can they when they’d feel like they got duped for buying it.

It’s just a bad call selling THAT house for THAT much.

15,000 crowns is far too excessive for a micro-transaction; that's kind of my issue with most of the crown store in general though. For that price you could get a decent cosmetic item for the real world instead. If it weren't for the crowns that come with my sub I'd probably just ignore it entirely.

The above is why you already had it. You logged in at least once during a promotional event last year that gave everyone who owned Summerset that house for free (and a mount and pet iirc).

Edit: I do find it humorous that the cost of the house is much less than the cost of the Summerset chapter. But it was a promotion and hopefully a good one at that.

To those complaining about the current price, it is a good and sizable home. The price seems comparable to homes of it's size and quality. I also do not understand why someone would think Zos would do another promotion for the house when the new chapter is the focus. I guess we all have our reasons.

I got it last year on my only account at the time. I subsequently made a second account which of course doesn't have it - and won't be getting it. I don't even really use it on my main account - it's kind of a storage facility, with an outfit station because it's always daylight there, and the colors don't change so much there the way they do at most of the indoor stations in the world - and of course when I want to do something with someone's gear it seems it's always night, so the outdoor ones (like the one in Ebonheart) are problematic.

It was a cool community event to get players with Summerset working together for a common cause. Even though the actual activities were pretty tedious. I very much appreciated the Villa as a reward but I never ended up doing anything with it as it's convoluted access via Artaeum makes it inconvenient to use as a port point. Apart from target dummies, storage chests & port points... I don't find housing very interesting.

I got it last year, and in my opinion they should not be selling it now.

Got it free last year, and it's been collecting dust ever since (the mount too, as a matter of fact). It's cool looking, but I already have a house I like, so didn't feel like devoting time to decorating it.

I may be in the minority here, but I've always felt that all houses should have the option to purchase with ingame gold, and that the crown store prices were a bit pricey. But, it is what it is -shrug-

Eh, there may be people who really wanted it who weren't able to participate to get it free. So if they have the money and they really want it, I think it's great that they can buy it now. Yes, it's pricey, but it's up to the individual whether it's too expensive or not.

Oh boy. How do I hide my vote?!

Well, you guys are making no sense. It is meant to me a limited time event, bringing it back every bow and then just makes it less valuable. I have no problems paying for it after I missed the event. Seeing I'm the only one in here who bought it so far, yeah, don't worry about me, I got a job to pay for it :)

I did buy it since I started playing late January. I hate how much it cost but I love That house. That house is so peaceful and restful to me, I have no idea what I am going to do with it. But it will be soothing.
