Jabs Mechanics ,PBAOE buff, Aoe caps, and consistency.

Now with all PBAOE getting buffed why is Puncturing Sweeps Damage different to 2 people. I know it’s really strong as is but it just seems off.

Against a group Brawler with Master 2h hits all people for 4-6k depending. But jabs hits 1 person 5-8k plus burning light. And everyone else for 2-3k

Should this mechanic be removed or am I missing something

    Jabs suffers from a classification issue and only a classification issue. The skill needs to be reworked slightly to some degree to keep the general performance but remove some of the mitigation available against it.

    The AOE part of jabs will hit 25% less damage then brawler BUT the closest target will get hit by double the damage of brawler, if all 4 hits of jabs hit. Meaning you need at least 4 targets for brawler to actually start out damaging jabs as a whole. If you include a 2 ticks of burning light for, which you will get in packs of 4+ mobs, that number goes up to 5. Seems pretty balanced to me.

    you are comparing an ability altering weapons damage to a base skill. that is very silly of you. of course when you use the ability altering weapon, the skill ought to be better then normal (not that i am saying that is what happens, loads of ability altering weapons are junk, the master 2h is one that is semi passable), since you are giving up a second 2 piece, or at least a monster set. why else would you use the weapon, you are comparing apples to oranges. compare the damage when you have on the same sets, same 2 five pieces and monsters sets, you will see the skills are quite balanced.

    also if your brawler is only hitting for 4-6k with a master 2h, you ought to look at the rest of your build, the amount of damage the master 2h adds is insane, i have seen 40k+ hits when i have 6 mobs in my cone using it.

    This was primarily from a PVP standpoint. But even still.

    Steel Tornado
    Brawler
    Sap
    Drain power
    Impulse
    Subterranean Assault
    Etc.

    These all do 100% of the damage to All targets. Why do Jabs do 100% to one target and less to everyone else when all other AOE do everything to everyone.

    If I hit 2 Saps it’s almost the exact time as 1 set of jabs but does full damage to everyone.

    i mean if you are going to ask a simple question, then you get a simple answer, because that is the way the skill works.

    what is making you compare 2 casts of a skill to 1 cast? again you are comparing apples to oranges. you cant cast 2 saps in the time you can cast 1 jabs/sweeps, the cast time on sweeps/jabs is 1 second. just like even a "spammable" single hit skill, you can only cast one skill a second, it is called a "global cool down"

    if you do the correct math, like i do, you will see that you need to have 5+ targets for jabs/sweeps to be doing less damage overall then most of those skills. ( you have Subterranean Assault for some reason, that is not the same kind of skill as the rest, it is delayed damage, as such does MORE damage per hit, then the rest, like 86% more but is still less then the closest target for jabs, if all 4 hits land.)

    for the record, here are the aoe spammable skills that all have the same base damage now-

    DK
    1. Fiery Breath and morphs
    2. Dark Talons and morphs
    3. Eruptions first hit

    necro
    1. Death Scythe and morphs

    NB

    1. Drain Power and sap essence, power Power Extraction does 25% more damage then a regular aoe

    Sorc

    1.Shattering Prison

    templar

    1. Spear Shards and morphs
    2. Sun Shield and Radiant Ward
    3. Explosive Charge

    DW

    1. Whirlwind and its morphs

    Bow

    1. Arrow Spray and its morphs

    destro

    1. Impulse and its morphs

    all these are spammable and do about the same damage. (+/- 2%)


    so as a templar, you have 3 other abilities that are aoe spamables. here's a simple question for you, why do you use one of those?
