Nope. Whilst some people complain about the draconian moderation on these forums it's actually pretty lax. There are a lot of posts and threads which don't get moderated, as well as the fact people who constantly and actively break rules don't get suspended or banned.
I agree 100% with this actually. I know myself and others report a lot of the threads/posts which clearly break rules or are going to cause issues and we'll see some moderation happen.anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »Nope. That doesn't reflect ZOS' strategy in terms of moderation (or Bethesda's for that matter, since I believe these forums are moderated by one team that also takes care of all Bethesda's forums). It only reflects that this team is understaffed and has no time to actually read this forum and drive it appropriately. All they (seem to) do is react to users' reports. It's reactive instead of proactive, many moderation decision are made out of context, inconsistent with other decisions, etc.
As a result, the moderation here is not "lax", it's simply unfair and somewhat inefficient, because understaffed. It makes people feel insecure (where it's meant to make them feel safe).
Can't compare with Reddit since I don't know much of Reddit. Just wanted to say that calling the moderation here "lax" is the wrong interpretation, in my opinion.

Wouldn't work as the Reddit forums allow users to sink posts like battleships with the downvote where as here, any post with new post in it raises it right to the top again. On Reddit they downvote any negativity into oblivion where as here like feces, it keeps floating to the top...
Point to the part where I said that please.I suppose you're right. The unhappiness here is, after all, totally unfounded.
My idea of good moderation is letting people report, discuss and be critical without being toxic. There is a very clear difference between the two.But if your idea of good moderation is to shut down conversations people are having about the issues they encounter with the game, I promise you it's leading to no good end.
I assume by there you mean on Reddit, and if that's happening then yes that's bad moderation and not the kind I would like to see here. However ZOS is pretty good with helping people in the issues forum BillE is normally pretty active replying from what I've seen. There are new people going there for help with their performance problems too and they just get shut down - and probably just turn around and leave the game for good.
I have no issue with negative threads on the front page and I encourage there being one to hold ZOS' feet to the fire in regards to the issues. However please tell me how new topics/posts of "Zo$ FiX YOUR GAME" "ZOS ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY" "CROWN STORE WORKS FINE LOLOLOL" helps make the forums a better place or encourages ZOS to work on the issues or engage with the community? The negativity needs to rise in visibility if it's going to result in a change. If there isn't a change, the game is dead.
Do ZOS have a 'disconnection with the community'? I always thought they where kinda good on that front.

There are many well known posters on these forums who slam ZOS for their screw ups but manage not to be abusive and toxic whilst doing it.I assume by there you mean on Reddit, and if that's happening then yes that's bad moderation and not the kind I would like to see here. I prefer Reddit as it is way more mature overall and it doesn't obsessively focus on PVPers and their never-ending "problems", like these forums. However, there are good parts about this forum too and sometimes it can provide good information and advice. It just needs less elitist attitude and more consideration for other forum members who are taking part in discussions.

1. Are all doom and gloom and the game will be dead in 6 months
2. Seems to be where most pvpers post.
1. Seems to be made up a lot more of new players, solo players, and rpers.
2. Seem mostly happy as bugs in rugs over the game.
If ZOS mostly reads Reddit instead of their own official forums it might explain their seeming disconnect with the community. I always used the official forums but recently I have been checking out Reddit as well. If you play any of ZOS other games their official forums are completely dead and all the posting is on Reddit.
So maybe we need to post more on Reddit instead of these forums if ZOS pays no attention to them.

Reddit notices everything, they just carefully monitor what will be seen. Then again, they are run by the Illuminati, so there you go.IwakuraLain42 wrote: »Look, they noticed this thread: https://old.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/c55gba/official_forums_opinion_of_this_reddit/
...and their most upvoted comment currently is that on this forum we are just passionate about the game and want ESO to improve!?!? I mean what rubbish! Filth! Disgusting!!!
