    1. Are all doom and gloom and the game will be dead in 6 months
    2. Seems to be where most pvpers post.

    Reddit

    1. Seems to be made up a lot more of new players, solo players, and rpers.
    2. Seem mostly happy as bugs in rugs over the game.

If ZOS mostly reads Reddit instead of their own official forums it might explain their seeming disconnect with the community. I always used the official forums but recently I have been checking out Reddit as well. If you play any of ZOS other games their official forums are completely dead and all the posting is on Reddit.

So maybe we need to post more on Reddit instead of these forums if ZOS pays no attention to them.

Oh absolutely. These official forums tend to be populated in my experience, primarily with PVP players, primarily with min/max type players, primarily with people detached from the reality of ESO for the vast majority of the player base, leading to a lot of nonsense being posted.

There are also a lot of good people though, who try to combat the incessant, often misplaced, uneducated negativity.

Not when any rightfully spread negativity is suppressed. The game runs like a persons behind, is buggy like never before. Talking about these issues is not random complaining or negativity.
If there are issues, people should be able to talk about them IN ANY OUTLET available.
If you cant let your dissatisfaction about a product that becomes worse and worse, then nothing will ever get fixed. And those companies will lose revenue.
Happy costumors are paying costumers. Game is laggy/buggy. People will not give their money likely.
There is nothing wrong with discussing the issues and having a place to constantly remind ZOS about them. However a number of the post and posters on these boards are not constructive and do little more than fan the flames of discontent, spread misinformation and generally make the forum a somewhat toxic place.

I can't say I am active enough on the Reddit community to know exactly how things go there, but I do follow it and whenever I am reading what's new on the sub reddits I follow I do notice people discussing issues on there.

Yeah, I've had a completely opposite experience. Reddit is a hellhole. I've seen people get downvoted into oblivion for just introducing themselves, and then they are never heard from again. Many of the people there are quite rude and lack patience when dealing with others.
I actually hate it. The posts there are less negative because people are afraid of spilling their true feelings because they will probably get downvoted to crap. When you give people more resources to vote, then the quality of the content dramatically changes. Sure there's less negativity, but you're not seeing all that people have to offer, making it a terrible forum for feedback and criticism.

Alright bud. Here’s your game breaking bugs:
    Activity finder
    Stuck in combat
Sliding on the floor when hit by certain CC’s
    Health desync
Delay in cc’s such as javelin or clench which causes either a slow motion animation or just a desync
    Shadow image being bugged
Pirate skeleton monster set bugged causing you to not be able to bar swap when the set procs
Root poisons going through snare and root immunity
Double cc caused by flame clench
When pulling a target they sometimes just immediately teleport back to their original location after you pulled them
    Loadscreens... everywhere
Loadscreens when a keep flips or upgrades causing entire groups to wipe due to lack of game management.
    Necro does not work properly
    - Blastbones acting strange(not attacking)
    - Blastbones randomly not available to be casted(greyed out key)
    - Detonating syphon turns your character around not firing the skill
    - Detonating syphon not being able to hit bosses in Sunspire
    - Detonating syphon not being able to be used when another necro placed a corpse on your corpse.
Mob telegraphs go in random direction instead of where they are shown
Bosses have broken hitboxes in sunpire not allowing some skills/proqqs to hit

I added some more into the quote in italic. And those are actually gamebreaking and all belong to or after Elsweyr. Been there pretty much since elsweyr release. Nothing got fixed. New class is broken, sunspire does not work properly.. ZOS needs to get their -snip- together...

Thanks for adding those things to list, but I don't see the problem which have been really a problem since Elsweyr that you kill a target and can't loot it as you get an error message about "Target out of range". It is often combined with target being killed and then it teleports away from where it should have left a dead body in place on ground.

For starters, let’s talk about how the game crashes regularly during Wayshrine travel. It may not happen to all, but I’ve experienced it, and had several friends and guild mates experience it as well.
Next we can go to how combat cues are not appearing correctly if at all. For instance, in vHRC, the warrior when he throws his shield can actually hit everyone as it doesn’t fly straight along the path indicated, but rather in front, behind, randomly to the sides, and sometimes all of the above. Or how in Sunspire, despite ZoS stating that it was patched, the dragons overhead fire attacks still miss their designated paths by a wide margin.
Next I can go to how despite holding my block, sometimes the game will decide to randomly drop my shield in the middle of an attack that more often than not leaves my tank dead, and my group screwed.
I can also go into how in some instances, when characters are feared by enemies, rather than stop when they run into a wall, they find themselves in the space between the walls with no option to escape other than run until they fall through an invisible gap, or find a way to transport themselves to the nearest Wayshrine.
Those are all issues I’ve experienced in the last three days. There are a large number of issues that some players would consider game breaking. I don’t have the time or patience to write down every issue I run into as it happens just so I can come back here later and create a new post/thread about it or search for someone else who already has and go “same”. I’m glad your experiences aren’t like mine. Hopefully for you they stay that way.

Also to your ridiculous event complain. All the events are literally the same trash.
“Double nodes in this certain zone and do dailies wooohoo”
More events put more strain on the server which causes even MORE lag and the recent massive influx of events was zos purely milking the game so they can get more new players and more money... even though literally almost all of the events were just the same repetitive lazy trash.

Maybe they are trash to you, for me as a new player they are a very welcome boost.

If you think health desync is a mod then This discussion is over

@LucyferLightbringer If you actually look up health desync on this forum through Google you would know that it wasn't just health that could be desynced, all resources like stamina and magica had problems for around a year ago during Summerset/Murkmire time. It is well known issue in this game that this happens form patch to patch.

Same for issues leading to Group Finder that works and then it doesn't, meaning either you get messages that click until you give up to form a group and the process before you get into a dungeon or you are sp lucky that your group will be teleported in and out again. There have been all kind of problems with Group Finder or Activity Finder (which is name that ESO use now in game).

During last autumn there where events after events which in the end made me leave game as it fast get to repetitive doing daily quest in zones to get a token for a mount skin, motifs that was only possible to get through event and some other stuff. Here is a link that show you the last event lasted for 5 weeks.

    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/55981

As a new player that might sound fun and all for you, but be careful to not burnout from doing events, in particular when there are events that last as long as 5 weeks and then maybe are chained with another event that also last in weeks or have certain requirements for achieve a token which is only possible to get during this kind of events.

During one events where one needed to use Group Finder/Activity Finder as to get rewards related to do dungeons for that event, Group Finder started to really break down and Zeni had to acknowledge that GF couldn't handle all the pressure from all players that tried to get into a group or dungeon by using that tool. If I recall correctly you needed to use get into a Random Daily Group for getting a token and extra XP (more then standard non event) from using GF for Random Daily.

With Elsweyr things have become a lot more problematic as we have serious quest bugs (WB that doesn't give credit for daily quest; quest marker that isn't showing in which direction next step one need to go to actually talk with dragon in MQ for Elsweyr), Necromancer that suddenly get a chain of bugs that several people reported which if that would have continued really would make Necromancer unplayable as class as ti where showing a big shield in front for block animation, couldn't mount, use food/drinks/pots (consumables) or sprint and walk/run speed where off, weapon that suddenly disappear visually like bow or move to your feet like DW, not game breaking by itself, but still a sign that something is going on that could end with weapon doesn't fire any more or other issues.

I don't know if you play solo most part or join groups, but as MMO player you wouldn't be too happy if you manage to get a group to share daily quest, kill WB and don't get any loot or credit for finishing quest even when you have spent time to form a group in zone, share to those that didn't quest and to wait until boss spawns again.

To be honest I didn't even know the forums existed, until I got an invite to the PTS server before the launch of Elsweyr and saw about the forums requiring an invite to be used.

Had to create a support ticked to get an invitation to the forums.

I think the problem with the forums is, only those that have the motivation will bother becoming a member many will just browse and never post here or just use alternatives because they don't know about the ESO forum at all.

I came here after spending many years on the Steam forums that catered for players of Bethesda games.

The Steam forums were a mix of good and bad, including a lot of - constant - slagging Bethesda off. Some of it was probably the mindless whining that is found in any discussion forum, some of it had a genuine basis, but some of it had...hard to articulate...an "undertow" Same people with the same - repetitive - attacks on Bethesda. It was impossible not to wonder if there was more to it than met the eye.

I get that seem feeling here.

And the number of times zos has falsely yelled "wolf" in the past has clearly rendered the community numb to any form of reassuring statement. Not to mention their non-existant presence in the forums apart from some posts here and there closing down threads for tos violations. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.
Having said that I believe that the majority of people posting "negatively" on these forums would rather play the game they 've invested time and money on instead of sitting here screaming in a bottomless pit. And zos employes would rather spend their time making their good game into a great one instead of dealing with the same old issues.

As noted, Reddit seems to focus more on the new player experience. To that extent, the normal base game does indeed run smoother most times, and if not it’s far more forgiving anyways. Probably why a lot less complaints.

Tbh. I was surprised that is even a thing, when ZOS announced their Q&A to be on Reddit, rather than ESO forums. It looked to me like a deliberate move, so less ppl would know about it. It felt cheesy & suspicious. As if ZOS was afraid of something.

Nope. Whilst some people complain about the draconian moderation on these forums it's actually pretty lax. There are a lot of posts and threads which don't get moderated, as well as the fact people who constantly and actively break rules don't get suspended or banned. You can also add that the ESO forums has no EU moderation staff (besides Kai who doesn't moderate EN forums).

From what I have seen of the moderation on Reddit it clears up the trash pretty quick.

Negativity gets hidden, downvoted, and/or deleted on the subreddit. That tone difference is an intentional, actively-maintained result by the moderation team there.

I follow Reddit daily, even though I don't even have an account there. I just like to read stuff and follow some gaming forums. I have found ESO-Reddit to be somehow curious place, and I believe it is being manipulated by someone. Every day some of the most upvoted posts are low effort, generic screenshots, or posts like "I'm amazed of this awesome game it is brilliant omg I want to have it's babies". Mods have decided to allow posting of these screenshots for reason (it is not allowed in other games sub Reddit I visit because it is not actually advertisement board for the game). It is indeed intentional.

I'm especially curious about the rabid downvoating for every post that tries to talk about issues with the game. It happens in minutes, if not in seconds. So who does it?

There is a theory (plausible one too) that someone has something against the sub and has created a bot that downvotes topics.

Ummm are you going to another rediit or something? You aren't seeing the reddit I peruse every day. You probably didn't scroll down to the bottom.... I'm sure ZoS and all their fanboiees are down-voting threads on reddit to hide them since they can't delete them like they do here.
