I agree with this. I think the longer people play the same mmo the more crabby they get about it. It happens to the best of us. It's happened to me a couple times before. I'd suggest if you feel this game is broken that badly maybe you should take a break for awhile and play something new.

Or... maybe it actually is broken? I get that a lot of people aren't experience game-breaking performance issues, but trivializing the problem for them doesn't help.

I am not trivializing anything. I said "If you feel". Everyone has experienced the game differently.

Right, my point is that it isn't about feelings. I don't "feel" that I can't login - I can't log in. If I do manage to get a character load, I don't "feel" like my skills don't fire and that I can't swap bars - I can't use skills or swap bars. Making it as if people have a "feeling" about the performance of this game is trivializing it by turning it into an opinion. Come to my house and watch the game be objectively broken.

You're right. I should have said "think". I didn't mean to get your feelings involved. You think the game is broken. I think the game is fun to play and don't experience these issues. It wasn't my intent to trivialize your experience.

Another difference between the forums and reddit - on reddit, this type of interaction would lead to the most up-voted comment being, "aww, now kiss!"

Alright bud. Here’s your game breaking bugs:
Activity finder If by activity finder you mean group finder i use it daily for random dungeon as well as pledges, works fine.
Stuck in combat Never happened to me for no reason, there always was some mob somewhere that had a grudge with me
Sliding on the floor when hit by certain CC’s never experienced it
Health desync Never experience it as well, mods maybe?
Delay in cc’s such as javelin or clench which causes either a slow motion animation or just a desync Playing templar for last week, never seen javelin delay
Shadow image being bugged Cant comment on this not using it
Pirate skeleton monster set bugged causing you to not be able to bar swap when the set procs Cant comment on this not using it
Root poisons going through snare and root immunity Cant comment on this not using it
Double cc caused by flame clench Cant comment on this not using it
When pulling a target they sometimes just immediately teleport back to their original location after you pulled them Cant comment on this not using it
Loadscreens... everywhere This i have to agree with
Loadscreens when a keep flips or upgrades causing entire groups to wipe due to lack of game management. This i have to agree with

Also to your ridiculous event complain. All the events are literally the same trash.
“Double nodes in this certain zone and do dailies wooohoo”
More events put more strain on the server which causes even MORE lag and the recent massive influx of events was zos purely milking the game so they can get more new players and more money... even though literally almost all of the events were just the same repetitive lazy trash.

Maybe they are trash to you, for me as a new player they are a very welcome boost.

Yes some days this place is a salt mine but it is literally where I learned to play the game.
Kind of miss the days where ad ep & dc had there own columns made doing Caldwell gold and silver so much easier when you could find out bugs in quests.
So much good information on crafting and yes this is where I discovered that we have a bank and how to use it

Its a funny idea that. Having a game which has actual content to do, generally bug free and server that run to an acceptable standard... Its amazing how some 'people' think having a sub and if you spend more money makes you more entitled to have more of an opinion than others.

Ayup. Not my sort of environment. Now, mind, I'm not really "in your face" antagonistic - but when I want to post something bound to incite argument, I don't really want to get a mod "in my face".

Argument is good, as long as it's civil. The mods here do tend to keep things civil. Unlike reddit - where as you said, it's "beige hive mind". Or words to that effect. Discussion of issues happens only when people have varying positions on those issues.

So you want everyone to go over to Reddit and turn that into a complaintfest too?

Wouldn't work as the Reddit forums allow users to sink posts like battleships with the downvote where as here, any post with new post in it raises it right to the top again. On Reddit they downvote any negativity into oblivion where as here like feces, it keeps floating to the top...

Definitely, I’ve picked up a ton of good info on the forums. At the end of the day complaints stem from being invested in the game, if people didn’t care they wouldn’t bother posting.

You may be right. There are a LOT of us (eh, I'm 30+ years past 40) and many of us have retired, and have a LOT of time to play something (like ESO, or the TES SPMR games). In general, the people I know in my age metric are simply not interested in pvp. Some of them do pvp, and some don't - it tends to depend on what people find fun.... and what their reflexes find doable.

I never had reflexes for pvp. That was fine, as I - just don't have any interest in it. I did pvp in WoW for a while in a friend's guild on a pvp server - didn't like it (MAJOR understatement there.....) In fact, of all the years I spent playing wow, the 8+ months I spent on that pvp server were what I remember as the most miserable, unfun time I ever had in that game.

I suppose if I thought pvp was fun (I decidedly do NOT), I'd figure out how to make it work even on a marginal connection (which is what I have). But since I am not ever going to do pvp again, I don't have to go there.

    Thank the goddesses.

They always argued that they never did anything to improve cyrodiil, even though literally every patch has been about PvP changes.

So many good PvE skill or sets get nerfed due to PvP problems, but still according the to PvP player, nothing ever changes in PvP. And yet they still play?

Yep, this is/was, exactly the same on the STO subreddit, so all the complainers went to their official forums, what they did then was to shadowban complainers on the official forums. In the end, all they are left with is a cacophony of white knights and the occasional person with a slight niggle but who, on the whole, wants to kiss dev-ass. I follow Reddit daily, even though I don't even have an account there. I just like to read stuff and follow some gaming forums. I have found ESO-Reddit to be somehow curious place, and I believe it is being manipulated by someone. Every day some of the most upvoted posts are low effort, generic screenshots, or posts like "I'm amazed of this awesome game it is brilliant omg I want to have it's babies". Mods have decided to allow posting of these screenshots for reason (it is not allowed in other games sub Reddit I visit because it is not actually advertisement board for the game). It is indeed intentional.

I'm especially curious about the rabid downvoating for every post that tries to talk about issues with the game. It happens in minutes, if not in seconds. So who does it?

Nope. One would think so, but this is not my experience. SWTOR-official forum is only for people paying sub. Everyone can read it, or course, but you can't post or comment unless you have an active sub. That forum is also one of the worst cess pools I've ever encountered in interwebz (well, I don't visit really scary places so take that as you want).

See, there are legit insane people in this world. Some people are so insane they pay sub just so they can spend their time complaining and harassing anyone disagreeing with them, and keep endless drama going on. This happens in both sides, people fanboing the game and people hating the game (but still paying sub, I said some people are insane). Some people have spent years doing this. The only time I've ever told a person to get a life was there, and I still feel kinda bad about it but it was the truth. I really met people there who had stopped playing the game, but payed sub just so they can fight with others on the forum. It was crazy. This forum is pretty healthy place compared to that.

It's because Reddit has much more active and aggressive moderation. Which is a good thing (IMO).

Not when any rightfully spread negativity is suppressed. The game runs like a persons behind, is buggy like never before. Talking about these issues is not random complaining or negativity.
If there are issues, people should be able to talk about them IN ANY OUTLET available.
If you cant let your dissatisfaction about a product that becomes worse and worse, then nothing will ever get fixed. And those companies will lose revenue.
Happy costumors are paying costumers. Game is laggy/buggy. People will not give their money likely.
