does dual wielding actual give any kind of benefits?

it doesnt seem to increase my attack speed, it doesnt seem to increase my striking damage, and none of the skills seem super amazing. so far all i have seen being great about dual wielding is that i get to run around with 2 swords

    I like Blood Craze.

I also get a bunch of damage increase on CCed targets (Stunned, silenced, off balance etc..)

I also get armor pen with a mace, extra damage with a sword, a bleed with an axe or crit chance with daggers.

Seems good to me, but I'm a nightblade with tons of stuns.

Heated blades is an amazing skill in my opinion. I tried it once and I haven't taken it off of my loadout since.

Rapid Strikes (Flurry morph) is really good as well, and as far as I know the buff persists through a weapon swap as well (correct me if I am wrong).

There are pretty good passives that go with dual wield. Plus, you get two elemental effects if your two weapons have different enchantments.

None of the weapon sets are designed to do more damage than the next. The game is all about personal preference and balance.

If you find yourself wanting different abilitys or needing different passives then just change your focus.

Are you shure about that? could be that i haven't hit high level skills yet, but i swear that my S&B does far less damage then my 2h. and it doesn't "look" like that improves as you get higher...the S&B skills are designed around damage reduction, while the 2h are designed around high damage.

And my resto staff tree has nothing but healing spells. I don't see that doing as much damage as, say destro staf

now I could see 2h and DW being pretty balance, as well as the destruction staves. but it seems to me that at the least resto staff (healing spec) and S&G (tank spec) are oriented towards healing and defenses more then damage.

Got the 100% dmg increase on bash? Yeah...Try bashing. Dont forget to upgrade your weapon/shield. Also +bash damage/cost reduction glyphs are good.

Dual wield does more dps with full passives and twin blades + flurry - rapid strikes
    +
+ Two hander has a charge with immobilze, more burst and a long stun.

Theyre both good options just depends what you want or need more.

    it does
i have a DW DK and quite enjoy the dps output. the passives are nice and teh advantage of having 2 different spell effects on your weapons cant be ignored (recently i tried rolling with unresistable damage and blue health shield)
it really comes down to personal preferences. mostly. i'm not sure i could justify a light armour wearing, sword and board nightblade...
