    BGs were a great addition.

They add dungeons/trials all the time.

No doom and gloom from me.

I wouldn't have an issue with a new pvp option.

@Env_t - I wouldn't love it. I despise pvp. I haven't done any pvp since I left WoW in 2013. It's not fun, and it wasn't fun any time I was messing with it in WoW. And from what my nephew and granddaughter say about battle royale, I would never go near it. In fact, they each tried it once, and ran the other direction in a hurry. I believe it was fortnite, not positive. Nephew btw is early 30s, granddaughter late 20s. They both said they were "too old" for stuff like that.

I too would prefer that ZOS spend their dev money and time on other things more in keeping with the game's RP side.

Even from a story perspective, PvP is a integral part of the game and the 2nd Era it incorporates. The three core factions and their story lines all swirl around the Three Banners War. This is the part that is independent from the main story of Molag Bal's invasion. This all collides into Cyrodiil and the PvP that happens there there.

Been curious about BR *ducks the flying shoes* But most of the existing games out there rootkit your system, so I'd never install them. I'd totally try BR mode here if it were available.

Whilst they are two different games, Fallout 76 just introduced a BR mode and it has proven to be hugely popular. So don’t rule anything out. [/quote]

Fallout 76 will do anything to be kept alive.

Eh, it's not MY story perspective. The one thing about TES is that I never have to do anything I don't want to do. I don't care about faction war, never have, never going to. I don't care about the "story" as far as pvp is concerned. I'm not ever ever ever doing pvp again.

As far as the "2nd era it incorporates", in lore there's not much about what was really going on during that era. Which is exactly WHY ZOS selected the 2nd era in which to set the game - because no one could call them on anything.

Take that that overdone Battle Royale meme and shove it up into Oblivion. Just seeing BR mode being added to Fallout 76 was groan-inducing enough. That game will be dead within a month or two once people realize how dumb an idea it was.

I cant see this ever being added (and hope it never does).

Any BR match will be filled with tanks or invisi stamblades.

The only way it could work is if you could only choose from a selection of premade builds. And that goes against the eso theme of 'play your way'.

The game type just doesnt suit eso.

Gotta love the drama of people threatening to quit because someone else might possibly get something they're not interested in.

If a Battle Royale mode were introduced without affecting anything else in-game, why on earth would you quit ESO? It boggles the mind...

I have to agree with this. I couldn't care less about BR, I also find the game concept boring as hell and I often mock all those Fortnite kiddies. But threatening to quit the game because of adding another PvP mod that nobody is forced to play is just overshooting the traget. Possible performance issues are not a strong argument either since nobody knows how much this would really affect the server performance.
I've seen worse suggestions in my time (solo trials, vMA drops from the golden vendor etc.). BF is right up there in my books, but that's just *my* books and I know that it doesn't affect my game at all.

I can already smell all the cloaking Stamblades and bunny-hopping Magsorcs dominating such a game mode. What we need, in my opinion, is just more improvements to BGs, IC, and Cyro (in that order).

I think it would work more like you start with a blank character and loot containers for skills and armor and stuff.

Our are game would be dope with BR

A box might have a set of heavy Lamar and a lightning staff and a mag recovery potion.

    Or

Weapon poisons and a chokethorn set and some random passives.

You have to be resourceful and make the best of randomness.

What is funny is how little support these BR threads get. I guess most understand it is not a good idea.

Whilst they are two different games, Fallout 76 just introduced a BR mode and it has proven to be hugely popular. So don’t rule anything out.

But since it seems the majority dont want it I would prefer to see zos spend time on fixing the game

By ‘most’ you mean the vocal minority on the forums?

It’s always tricky when you just listen to the opinion of an online forum as you end up excluding the opinions of the more casual players that are less likely to populate an online forum.

Most players don’t have an interest in vet hm trials, so should zos stop work on vet hm trials?

Ok as in the majority as in the pvers

Let's face it, RPG genre is about mmaking your character stronger and stronger in the core loop. You constantly level up your character, acquire new skills to use and get better gear. In Battle Royal, you'd strip away the progression from the character - which goes against the core of RPG.

If we preserved the character progression, the battle royal wouldn't work, since BR is about starting from zero and fighting against your enemies while quickly acquiring power via items. If there was no reset in character progression, we would have a typical PvP instead of BR.

So, from the design side of things, it just isn't a plausible idea. I'm quite sure we would have technical limitations also. (because Group Finder for 100 players sounds like a bunch of out of the game variables making GF go ballistic) Games dedicated to BR have their software designed for BR, but ESO don't.

    tanks and invisible guys

It would not be tanks. OP wants Zos to build out a totally different combat system from the ground up. It would not use your character skills and such.

So do not worry about it. Zos has enough sense to know the investment is to great for any possible return. OP's example Fallout adding it does not compare well because it's combat has a very different design to begin with.

Why pepole in this community(Pretty much the majority), likes to force their play style on others?
    Same thing with faction lock,
WHY the f*** do u even care if a battle royal mode added to this game if ure not even going to play it?
What wrong with adding a new feature, that might ACTUALLY, give answer to pepole who seek decent pvp without the lag.

    YES to BR.

    YES to BR.

Probably because it would require resources and investment to implement which would be better spent in other areas. Also thinking a BR mode would limit lag is cute, it won't, as they would need to spread current server infrastructure to accommodate said BR.
