That would diminish the point of map control, a key factor in the maps design and function.

No, people would camp the res points.

The potential for greifing is real that being said what would be a way to protect players from greifers?

They would only be useful if they were somehow raised off of the ground or made inaccessible by wards that lock out people of the opposite faction, such as the res points on some PVP maps in aion were (before aion was gutted)

    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause
    Legends never die

    Cyrodiil does have “respoints”.

You can “res” at any keep that your alliance controls, as long as the keep isn’t under attack.

This sounds like a wonderful idea. Something that was brought up during the event was hos some greifers would camp towns like choroll for questers and even tho having an inaccessible spawn point wont protect them fro getting ganked inside of towns it would keep them from having to ride back.

Nah, its fine as it is.

You can go to any of your keeps or outposts, and the camps when placed. Good enough.

everything that makes people spread in cyro is good.. there are so many useless ayleid ruins..why not use them as spawn points and spread the *** zergs..less lag guaranteed

For those who only want to PvE in Cyrodiil I have a few tips:
    1. The most important one, go to an empty server. This will both mitigate your chances or running into players as well as not add to the load on servers where people do enjoy PvPing. Win, win.
    2. Take a buddy. It is actually a big sparse map when it comes to PvE content. Friends can make those long rides and fishing fun.
    3. Have a mount trained up with speed and stam. Also use the Rapid Maneuvers skill. It's the first one in Alliance War Assault skill line. You get this just by entering Cyrodiil and either doing the tutorial or talking to the commander.
    4. Real PvPers usually won't come after you if you show them that you actually aren't there to fight. Holding block up and walking backwards seems to be a pretty universal symbol. While Jumping usually indicates the desire for a duel.
    5. That being said, wear impen gear and add some to your health. Things happen.
    6. Finally, if you get mowed over, don't sweat it or take it personally. It is just a ride back though the country side.

p.s. Maybe give some PvP a go when youu are more familiar with things in there, yes it can be frustrating at first. But once you learn it, Cyrodiil can be a lot of fun.

On top of everything BigBragg suggested, if you're strictly a PVEer you're probably not aware of the camps (I wasn't until I'd had 2 of my characters living in Cyrodil for about a month). They're temporary Rez points that you can place wherever you want, you buy them from the siege merchant. They're cheap enough you'll be able to get a few just from the AP you get doing the tutorial quest, and they stack in your inventory so you can stock up on them.

Also, if you haven't done the tutorial quest it's totally worth it. There's no PVP involved in it, they just just explain some things and let you fire siege weapons at target dummies. It's quick and you get some AP and I think like 3 skillpoints from it.

Thats neat bro i apreciate the sentiment. I wasnt asking for advice on the mechanics of cyrodill i was just reflecting on some of the common reasons pve players avoid cyrodill for.

What cyrodil really needs is a better damn server that can handle players actually playing pvp

I mean for that they could just give players immunity until they attack other players or leave the general area or after a 1 minute duration unless they attack players which would immediately remove the duration.

Something else that could work is to create a campaign that has the all or part of the towns (such as the quest giver areas) be a 'no-combat' zone similar to the mechanic of the ledges in IC. That way you can at least pick up and drop off quests without getting ganked by griefers
