Nice planning taking the servers offline on a weekend for maintenance. If our companies IT department kept taking our servers offline during peak time like you idiots do we'd fire them and find some people that knew what they where doing.

Yes, I believe that after years of hard work the developers decided today that enough was enough and it was time to burn their hopes, dreams, and legacies to the ground just to spite you.

They are fixing a problem preventing others from being able to enjoy their weekend. It's effecting most of the population. :)

You mean the same issues they have had over the last 2 months that they knew about or since day 1 of the game going to early access. Yeah, they knew nothing about any of it.

Or maybe you are referring to the same issue that cut the 5 day early access to 3 days that they "fixed" that was this same issue.

O M G people or person. There are some issues going on that is ruining gameplay for lots and lots of people and the issues seem to be getting worse by the hour. What should they do, just ignore it all until Monday morning and risk the game becoming totally unplayable for everyone in the meantime? Unfortunately emergency maintenance happens in all MMO's not just the newly launched ones. So...go drink a beer (or 12 pack) grab a smoke (real or recreational) and chill buddy. *** happens.
  • spyritwind
Hmmm ... any alpha or beta testers that can confirm the bank issue existed before launch? If so then ...that's really bad.

No they shouldn't ignore it they should of had it fixed already. This is not a new issue at all.

You know, I almost wish I had moderator powers so I could mass-lock all of the duplicate threads and watch the subsequent fury as people were forced to reply to someone else's thread. THE HORROR.

Yes I'm sure the game is intentionally trying to self sabotage.

Because you know, that's how companies work.

Yes I'm sure Burger King has huge IT department. Almost everything is computerized and centralized.

When's the last time you went into Burger King with the change you found in your couch and they told you they couldn't take your order because their system was down?

Depending on where you are in the world, this can be a major pain, Took the kids to sport mornings, just sat down for some lunch and a cuppa in front of my new fav game, and its off line.
I do get "emergency maintenance, routine maintenance" just is a crappy time for me - Sunday afternoon @ 3pm after I have done all my grown up chores.

No I was responding to a post about BK. However, BK has a much better IT department than ESO. Not once have I been unable to get service at a BK because computers where down.

    Few problems though;

#1 this is something that will take more than a few mins.
#2. Primetime on sat night= screwing over 100k+ SUBSCRIBERS
#3. Like before when they had LONG emergency downtimes, I still do not see ETA. Though they are getting better by admitting this was unplanned... leaving us in the lurch on a sat night with no ETA for a fix = support failure - BIG TIME.

I agree, we can take it lighter as things like this will happen. But the company has to change the way it deals with its public, and gonna have to comp subscribers if you f up their sat night.

It wouldn't be so bad if this wasn't the 3rd or 4th time they have taken servers offline for emergency maintenance since early access. My 5 days of early pre-order access was 3, not the 5 I paid for just 3.

The game was, for the most part, smooth before launch. There were a few issues that needed to be fixed and still need to be fixed to this day, but they weren't very serious ones.

The bank issues, logging issues, chat and social lag, and progress blocking main quests were NOT present in PTS. Those are new problems and no, they were not there for the past two months buddy.

Wow, an intelligent post. The communication from ESO is crap. It has been since early access.

I beg to differ man you cant test everything in the game before patching a major problem all the time and testing a patch against the entire game take a lot of time, meanwhile people would be complaining about what problem they are working to fix

By not serious you mean unplayable lag PvP issues, crashing in Cydrodiil meant you couldn't log on to your character for sometimes hours, quests that had been reported for months that you still can't finish, login issues, those none serious issues?

I mean the MAC review they linked on FB today said early on he couldn't even complete the 2nd main story quest. Yeah great review to be promoting.

Well said . All the no soap peace loving hippies that feel the need to defend MMO companies like a battered wife will continue to white knight the forums . Regardless of their insecurities , the issue remains . This game needs better management .

    Odd, I played all 5.

Maintenance is going to happen early In a release... Anyone who thinks otherwise has not followed MMOs very long.

Problems don't always happen at the best times. This was brought down to address the extreme chat lag and loading screens, and keeping a large population of players from logging in at all. This is NOT for issues that have been popping up for the last 2 months.
