I have not given up on them but some of them are extremely frustrating to say the least.

Yeah, Dungeons are just badly designed in ESO...
Base dungeons are just as OP said

That's pretty much the defacto format for Dungeons/Raids/Trials/Operations(swtor). Trash mobs until you hit boss, then boss mechanics. Then more trash till the next boss, then more boss mechanics, rinse and repeat.

Waiting an hour in a queue to play a 20 minute dungeon? No thanks. I get the easiest undaunted quest each day and solo it on my mag sorc.

    Make friends?
With some friends you really don't have to wait in que...
Even the times I do solo que as a dps the wait seems to be around 15-20 mins on PS4 na for dailies and often times less for a random.
    It's really not that bad...

I noticed that there was not an option for the dungeon finder is messed up and I have not done dungeons because of this.

I'm a newer player to ESO, and frankly from what I have read in the forums, I do not want to try dungeons as a tank or heals, and I have not experienced the dungeons as I rarely spend more than one hour before I switch to another character to work on it.

I may get into some dungeons if I can find a guild group to do it.

This whole thread makes no sense to me. I'm not sure what you really want out of dungeons. They are meant to be increasingly difficult. Remember when you all hit Vet 1 and tried to do your first veteran dungeon? You get a helm at the end and keys for shoulders. There is gear in some that people also farm for. Some did become all about the 1 shot, but overall they do what they are supposed to do. They are meant to have a purpose, but I don't think that purpose is endlessly running as something to do for the heck of it.

I don't like dungeons because I play solo.

Getting into dungeons usually means durr-huurrrrr-durrrrrring bunch of kids overspamming and overrushing the content. Not really my type of elitism, I don't want to be there.

I wish all dungeons are mechanically soloable.

Not easy like overland content - I mean challenging, really challenging stuff, but soloable.

I like to take time, I like to go through dialogues, read letters and books, explore. I like to take on the mob or boss all by myself.

    And also this:
    - As DD I was never able to get into PUG. Not with even 2 hours in the que.
    - And it seems to me I play this game when nobody else is playing it. But those are my working hours, and there is no change on that for the past 6 years, so yeah - solo solo solo.

And also, I really do like ESO, especially dungeons I was going through solo.

If you're just doing it for skill points, have you been through them all or are you leveling new toons? They are easily worth going through at least a few times each, e.g. normal, vet, hard mode, gear/resources, etc.

I generally enjoy them but once undaunted is leveled, gear obtained, and the toon has enough skill points, not a huge incentive to keep doing them.

Best part of the game for me.

Clearing the first challengers were where i met most people I continued to play with. Going through each one until the last then finishing vBRP for the first time was like first clear of VMA but x4 more satisfying.

vTrials are also fun but honestly didn't has as much fun as I did doing dungeons.

Honestly, lately I am just doing the one daily dungeon do each once for the Skill Point, and other than that, I just dont even bother any more…

I just feel like the Dungeons in this game are really badly designed. There is no real strategy behind them, most of them are just DPS/GearCheck, and they only seem to have 2 Challenge Levels: Laughable easy or full of Trashmobs that one hit kill you if you dont DPS them down right away…

The Boss fights are by far the best part of the experience, a good amount bosses are really well done, but the dungeon around them is just... bland and boring. Most Dungeons I join either have a group melting everything in their way, or a group that cant deal with the insta-Kill mechanics, because the mobs live longer than 1 second.

The Dungeons here really go from "you cant really fail, you dont even need a tank healer" to "If you dont do it 100% correct, dont block that trashmobs instakill that has no warning, you dead!" with nothing in between…

Dont get me wrong, I am just talking about dungeons.

Overworld and the single player content, once you find out how to "nerf" yourself with a casual build, is really well designed and enjoyable, even if I often take a 10 minute break when I see someone else in the same cave as me so I can enjoy it solo, and overall the Storys are great.

Its just that I really get the feeling that ZOS doesnt really know how to design a good dungeon. They know how to design bosses. No negative opinion from me here. But Dungeons as a whole? That doesnt seem to be their field...

I've quit doing some of them. As you say - they're designed terribly these days. It's either laughably easy or stupidly hard where even a stray trash mob can instant kill you.

If people want to know why so few people play tanks - there is your answer. They need to bring back their old dungeon design team. They knew what they were doing. This new one... not so much. They're obsessed with DPS checks and instant kill mechanics - as well as stupid trial and error mini games which have nothing to do with the core game play.

I wish they all had duo calibration, where you could reasonably play things like DLC dungeons with two people in a place that's not balanced for 4.

I hate the Undaunted grind. If I can’t solo a dungeon then I just wait until a festival where there will be more of a player pool. Undaunted is the only thing I dread leveling on a new character. Yes you read that correctly. I’d rather do Mages and Psijic than Undaunted again.

You are right when you say it’s either breezy game play or the most precise migraine inducing hokeypokey ever.
They ruined tanking and healing in this game to an extreme point. The amount of 1 shots and lack of strategy is my biggest pain point with their dungeon design.

Zos thinks the word strategy means a mandatory mechanic like unskippable boss phases. Strategy means that two different groups can complete the content at different skill levels if they plan their attack. They did a good job with the optional buffs from March of Sacrifices at least.
