I thought it works how it was intended.

But, seriously, the server performance was bad long ago, but since Elsweyr release, it became complete nonsense. Not only for pvp.

When I first saw the giant I thought you got kicked off the mountain and would fly all over Cyrodiil.

But think of how amazing it is to be able to run on your horse when it is running. That is some coordination required to achieve that! xD

Anyone remember how many patches and "fixes" they implemented over the years to "alleviate the situation", "reduce lags/ loading screens", etc., including drastically limiting the campaign population?
Nowadays you'll get random loading screens just by riding across the countryside in an empty campaign with no other players within miles.

I wonder what Cyrodiil would be like without those "fixes"...

Don't forget that they fixed gap closers with a greater speed so they always hit in PvP => ROFLCOPTER.

I've started getting these in open world PVE (PC|NA), so it's not just a Cyro thing anymore

Because it used to be different and people don't want to move on from the fun they had in the past when this issue could also be fixed instead.

Yesterday, I was running (not even riding) through Elsweyr, and I got the loading screen. After about 15 seconds, the loading screen disappeared, and I was skidding sideways under the world at high speed. After flying through a few mountains, I started free falling down...... down....... down..... and magically popped up at a wayshrine on the other side of the zone.

I had a lot of fun in this game too and I enjoyed every second. But until they fixed all these things and problems its over for me.
But maybe I just play this game too long overall.

I think what makes this video even more impressive is that the ping hovers between 140-250 most of the time. 140 ping should not be functioning like this. lol

Exactly this.

There has always been performance issues and bugs. Some have been fixed, some have not. But, I left ESO for about a year and played GW2 instead. I came back to ESO when they Elsweyr early access began. I was excited to come back, mainly for Cyrodiil, because although I love GW2, their WvW pvp is extremely boring compared to Cyrodiil imo.

But, my first time back in Cyrodiil I started getting extremely long loading screens (Like 2 or 3 minutes long). So, I really couldn't effectively play because by the time I loaded to a keep it was already taken and everyone was on to the next keep. So, I just PVE'd for awhile but still had issues with long loading screens and still do on and off to this day. I even purchased a new SSD and put ESO on it. But, that had no effect on the loading screens or any of the 10,000 bugs and issues that came with Elsweyr.

I don't know WHAT Zos did to cause all these issues but they did something and most of the issues people are bringing up are never even spoken about by the devs. We all thought the patch they did right after the Early Access patch would have some fixes for the issues people are dealing with. But, nope. It had ZERO fixes for anything performance related and it also had ZERO fixes for the very obvious Necro issues. And those necro issues are having a huge impact on PvP right now.

So, I thought that surely they would work on some of the pressing issues people had been dealing with with the Elsweyr patch. But, it was actually embarrassing to see that none of the issues were addressed in that next patch they put out.

The major issues need to be addressed. Weather they are old or new issues, it needs to be done. Or ESO will end up being the game that people are leaving for something else.
