Not sure if textures were updated, but I know animations were which gives a lot of existing stuff a different feel. This messed with some character models (time to use my appearance change tokens...) and changed the pace of combat a bit (try out the new staff attack effects) to be an almost unnoticeably bit faster. It may just be that all the other new things are just making textures feel different, but it's very possible if not likely that textures were updated as well.
