Yeah, impale is objectively a better execute than radiant in terms of damage. Subjectively, since radiant is a channel, it's easier from a rotation standpoint. Templars execute rotation is about as easy as it gets.

For what it’s worth I can spam 3 mages wraths - or 5 probably - in the time it takes to do one radiant.
It’s way easier to execute 6 people in a Zerg with Mages Wrath than even one with Radiant. Please note I’ve killed 10s of thousands of people with Radiant and the simplicity and quickness of MW makes Radiant pale in comparison.

I know you have been gone for a bit, but this is no longer true. They shortened the channel time of radiant. In the time you can LA weave radiant, you weave 2 of any of the insta cast executes (or any instant cast abiity for that matter). Also, mages wrath is not making peoples bars at this point in PVP, which would have been a mindblowing statement a year ago. Dodge, Dodge, Dodge...

I literally did this last night. Haha. Tried out my new Magsorc in PVP. Had some initial struggles and then decided to see if I could just blindly throw MWs into a crowd. I filled up a kill 40 in minutes. It totally worked.
Radiant does still work, and with the reduced cast time you’re right, it is easier than ever. Still you still need to maintain line of sight and there is a huge glowing beam that makes you a target. MW essentially comes out of nowhere.
Legitimately, I was laughably frying people with 1 button. It was funny.
Edit - I decided to try it because while leveling that’s what I would do at dolmens. Just forget any type of rotation or skilled gameplay and spam MW. Worked like a charm. I was kill stealing everything. Worked exactly the same on the Alesia Bridge into the oncoming yellow hoard.

Yeah, blindly throwing Mages Wrath into a crowd of pugs is still going to get kills. Sorc was, is, and likely always will be, the best pug nuking class there is.
That said, it has become very ineffective against securing a KB against a good player, especially if they are stam. A lot of sorcs are opting for something else to apply pressure as opposed to execute burst. Also, Non-pet sorc is basically a watered down version of its former self. 1 pet is virtually a requirement for open world, and a lot of people run 2. It makes bar space very tight.
But yes, if you just want to stand back and fish for KBs against potatoes, Mages Wrath is tough to beat.
In the other hand templar is at best a botheal. Oh no guess what sorc is better at healing too Twilight Matriarch heals more than Breath of Life lol
Summon Twilight Matriarch
Call on Azura to send a twilight matriarch to fight at your side. The twilight matriarch’s attacks deal 668 Shock Damage plus an additional 15% damage.
Once summoned, you can activate the twilight matriarch's special ability, causing it to heal the matriarch and up to 2 other friendly targets for 1671 Health.
The twilight matriarch remains until it is killed or unsummoned.
Just as said in the video, only pothead keep playing templar. Stop beying a pothead switch to sorc or nightblade.
