I was totally unable to "get" etch a sketch. Echhhk - I'm a complete klutz. I can imagine worlds totally unlike our own, and write them.... but I could not possibly manage etch a sketch. I'm lucky to manage a mouse....

Back in my day (eso related only)

If you had more than one vr10 character you had no life.

Cyrodiil and blink mages fml...shutting down whole server for fun. Frigging Chuck Norris guild and meteor spam.

    BWB was so fun

They had to take the lions, torchbugs and deer (most) from Cyrodiil in a patch to resolve unplayable lag. It IS better now, no lie.

When myself and 2 other NA players got all nirn all motifs as master crafters it was a big deal. [and I made lots of $$] Soon after that a patch came and you could loot better gear from barrels than you could craft. Still exists today smh.

Dosha took 2 guildies outside the dungeon rooting me on and trading more repair kits to kill her, without which I would of uninstalled the game.

There were so many people playing you had to wait 10-15 mins to be able to kill a final boss in order to advance the quest. Just trying to get a hit in.

Going into a dungeon as a group was so bugged once inside you had to port to one another in order to share the instance.

There was a Que to login "you are number 368 in line".

The psijic order referred to a ultra group of Alpha players.

There were Game managers in guilds and playing the game. There were also ZOS employees in chat.

The people in game chat were so kind and helpful..WAIT that's still there!

Not for me! That's where I started too. In fact, the first day I wanted to set up a D&D scenario, I didn't have any graph paper around (too many years since school I guess) so I MADE MY OWN. Nope. Not kidding.... drew it out with pencil then went over it with indelible ink (like used for daughter's PE uniforms), so I could let the kids erase stuff....

Ran games for daughter and her friends from jr high (now called middle school I think?) - that lasted for a few years, then they all got older, found the opposite gender in a different way, and then went off to college and RL. It WAS fun while it lasted though!

    Wow. That is very cool.

I bought that first basic box from a walmart in a sale bin for about 2 dollars. Problem was, that basic box did not come with a list of weapon damage. :o We had to guess how much damage we were supposed to be doing, so we just rolled whatever the hit die of the monster was.

First (and probably last) time an Owlbear was ever killed by a single arrow. LOL

ROFL!! OMG owlbears... My goddess they were a problem. Seriously though, die rolls were "the" GOD. So if the owlbear died to a single arrow.... the RNG die god really loved you.

I'm less thrilled by the RNG computers provide, personally.

    Back in my day:
    - The game could run decent on directx 9.0 & Windows XP (yep, I know it is crazy to think of, but those rly are system reqirements back from 2014).
    - Hybrids were a thing.
    - NB tanks were decent (sap tank).
    - Woodelfs were playable race.
    - Argonians were playable race.
    - There was almost no meta (lol ? ).
    - There were no ball groups in pvp.
    - There were no weapon ultimates.
    - There was no lag in Cyrodiil.
    - NB cloak had a build-in purge (lol ?).
    - Sorcs had unlimited streak (lol ?).
    - Mobs & dungeon bosses had different resistance for different type of dmg (so the dmg type actually mattered).
    - There was no inventory management issues for regular players (today we have this problem introduced by zos and solution sold by zos (craft bag) in a forced subscription form).

(I am pretty sure I can think of more stuff, but that would probably make my post too long).

You lucky, lucky b stard. In my day we had to pick up leftover wood shavings to MAKE sticks. And don’t get me started on rocks, we would have given our left hands for rocks.

Back in my day, it was Dec 2017 so there is not much changes. UNLESS you count my average ping time grow from middle of 100th to high end of 200th or even over 300.
So now, when I swap weapon in the middle of a boss fight, it can take like half to a full second before the game register me and allow me to do any attack.
So, back in the day, I have a dps toon, now I have a wps toon, as in wait-per-swap.

Back in ma day Deshaan only had one "a," ONE I TELL YA!, the imperial mount cost 1 gold, a Daedric motif cost 50k and the imperial motif was blue! IT WAS BLUE! None of this super-special gold motif you kids get to enjoy these days. Hell, to earn gold you could really only sell to other guild members. The only traders were in Cyrodil! Who's gonna go to Cyrodil to buy a Daedric motif? Nobody! Dats who!

Back in my days, the bound armament was a toggle and displayed an ugly daedric armor.
Dungeons didn't have version I and II, it was normal and veteran.
    Stamsorcs didn't even have hurricane.
    Procsets could crit.
    You couldn't transmute.
You had to manually form your groups to get in a dungeon (Oh... wait, that's still the case!)
    The storyline actually made sense.
    Overland was challenging.
The set options were really limited as there was only a few VR 14 sets.

    And all of that :
Back in my day, Hundings and Julianos was Meta in PvP. Its was stupid to run heavy armor. Vampire was optinal. A dk stacked a main attribute pool. Twice born stars was BiS in pve. Vetran Zones mudcrabs had to be defeated while fully buffed. On console vMoL firstboss had people taping the healthbar on the T.V screen. Bloodspawn was the only DPS dummy. VMA daggers were a thing(the first time). Three piece V.O, Fourpiece I.A or MoonDancer.

Back in my day resto staff was used for ganking, the entire game didn't feel like tutorial until you hit max get rank, cyrodill had higher player caps per faction and didn't lag as much, dmg numbers used to be in the hundreds and resources used to be in the low thousands like sub 4k.
