You aren't exactly a vestige after you complete the main story arc. You're something a whole lot more, infused with akatosh-power in the form of skyshards and something else. I never accepted the 'Vestige' term anyway. It is a bit insulting.

My characte reclaimed her soul so she's not the vestige anymore in her main story.
As for what I roleplay...Completely unrelated to the vestige, we can't all roleplay as the hero.

Agree with this...you're no longer the vestige anymore as tamriels hero anymore. In fact you are more a vestige if you start main quest but don't complete it.

They never bothered to put in an adequate solution to this problem, and further updates have muddied it up even further (which has frustrated me for five years, since I am playing this game primarily for story). But I have to assume there's still something unusual in the relationship between my body and my soul for anything to make sense.

I take it that there is a dragon break in time going on here. How else can you explain being the hero of all 3 alliances? Yes a daedric prince was involved but there is more to it than that. The hero gets forgotten by npc's at times and at others he's lauded as the hero. We dance through time and space where nothing really matters. I believe we are all the possibility that leads to Tiber Septim and it might very well be that in our own universe we ARE the Tiber Septim of the story. Given our use of the red diamond I believe this makes some level of sense as well. I realize that the writers might shy from this but the problem with the writers is that there are currently way too many gaping holes in the lore and the story. It would be nice if the could button it up but I'm also concerned that they might royally screw it up in the same way that Game of Thrones jumped the shark. I realize that writers aren't always the problem either. A lot goes into a production like this and you never know what you're going to get. It would be nice if they had a better and more cohesive explanation for what is going on in ESO though.

I always start the main quest for the easy skill points and quest XP, but don't finish it because the Coldharbour part was tedious. So technically almost all my characters are vestiges.

I don't care.
