Anyone who knows me knows that I’ve played a Magplar about 99% of the last few years, so despite me having (now) 9 characters, most of them were still essentially untouched level 3s.
So I decided that before I leveled my necromancer I should probably finish power leveling the Magsorc I started like 2 years back that had been sitting at level 37.
Here is what I learned as I got to level 44 by killing wasps and deckhands last night.
Nerf Magsorc.
No ... I kid, I kid. It’s fine but wow, you guys have it easy AF. The Magsorc meta rotation is ridiculously intuitive and easy to pull off. I knew what it would be from years of being bursted by a purple cloud as I’m rooted and getting smashed with a crystal at the same time. From the other side it looks like skill ... from the Magsorc side it’s like the least skill based thing I’ve ever done in this game.
Magsorc is just easier.
And while normally the reaction should probably be “just wait till you PVP” I had 300,000+ AP on the character from 2 years ago. Levels 10 to 37 where actually done in Cyrodiil.
In a nutshell I think my Magsorc - who has like 50 skill points total might wipe the floor with my Magplar that has 300 something. I feel like I just decided to take remedial math after a semester of advanced trigonometry.

Wow can I have some of what you're smoking?
If this is the case I should be able to wipe everyone in Cyrodiil just mashing three buttons whilst drinking tea and a cake, or even better I will hand the keyboard to my 5 year old.
Ah but wait, theres other classes too played by skilled players!
Oh wait now I get it, sorry didn't realise that Troll was a playable race
Be safe
There's always people who are good at a class and do kill a lot of players.
You could probably teach a five year old to play either magplar or sorc, however kids, crumbs and tea are not recommended around keyboards. Mine are a few years older that and understand the concept of a 'rotation'.
The dickiest thing about sorcs is they have a high kill ratio because their no brainer, fire and forget crap steals everybodies KB's and like nb's, they just bugger off under pressure.. yawn and the fact that a pet of theirs can be 45 degrees from my los, have the sorc tab'd and it hits the freakin pet.. i mean ffs lol
Im with you on the kids and keyboard crap but im not with you on the fire and forget stuff?
Be safe
The whole class is fire and forget. Curse, root, frag and then they all explode in the middle of a light attack you added in. Sure, many people can survive it, I have hundreds of times, but go ahead and tell me the super awesome opening skill that Magplars have? Oh wait ... there isn’t one. Let along 3 that all stack damage and smash someone for like 40k at once.
But at least we have radiant ... which I’m now discovering might not actually be as good as Mage’s Wrath.
But thanks for telling me to be safe. Was that the next part of the Geneva Convention after the section that says you can say whatever you want as long as you say “with all due respect?”
Are you actually saying you know a class from playing it at level 44 in the lowbie cyrodil campaign?

Nice leap there. At what point did “easier to play” become “I can wipe everyone with 3 buttons”? You’ll still need a modicum of skill, but it’s clearly easier to achieve this level as a Magsorc than what appears to be any other class combo.
Then again, maybe you stink at ESO.

No. I’ve been PVPing in the vet campaigns exclusively since launch. I am saying that I know the class exceptionally well from fighting against the best magsorcs for years so I just copied what worked best against me. Go figure, I can steamroll stuff.
I’m over 2000 hours in. If I can’t learn my opponents tendencies in that time I should give up.

Are you on PC NA?

Are you having a giraffe? I was a Stamsorc from launch its way easier than being a caster, two hander/heavy armor/Crit surge/Hurricane and wade in, try killing folks with a pointy stick!

Yeah, but that pointy stick spews fire balls or bolts of lightning from a safe distance.

So you're saying magsorc is easy because of the leveling process and fighting noobs on Xbox in the pre-level 50 campaign where half the population doesn't even know how to roll dodge yet? Sounds like a typical nerf sorc post to me.
Yeah, sorc can be easier to level because of the pets and attracts tons of noobs and FOTM players, but it is also a bot killing machine. You really don't get the overall perspective on any class till you get to a much higher level.
At high MMR on PC NA, you basically only have 5 or so magsorcs that are BG regulars and aren't just free kills. All the FOTM and noob sorcs are just free points and are just as useless as getting a NB on your team. On top of that, pretty much all the good players I've seen try out a magsorc have ended up doing just as well or worse than they would have on their main anyway. As for your point about magplars, they can definitely do just as well as sorcs and can easily have high scoring games. In fact, they tend to be stronger in games with more roll dodge spammers and tankier enemy teams since beam goes through roll dodge and hits way harder than fury.

No. That’s definitely not what I’m saying. I have thousands of hours of vet PVP. That’s the only place I play.
Did you know that when they crowned the first emperor in beta, I was in 2nd? No, of course you didn’t. You just made assumptions and didn’t read. Any leveling in Cyrodiil done by me would have been in Vivek, from 7 to 11 eastern (prime time) and highly likely as a solo player. I know exactly what I’m talking about.
