Leveling 25 - Too hard

    Come on folks, really? It is a sad tale of events that every MMO that comes out is compared to another. This game in itself if unique because it follows and enhances the Elder Scrolls mythology, not Arthas and the LK. I just don't get this comparison thought pattern. This game has quest, dungeons, pvp, grinding, etc. etc., but so does every MMO. Does that mean this game is also very AEONish? or GuildWars2ish? It's all quite troubling, but.... that's the end of me caring for such foolishness. OK... I'm happy now. On to the good points and the question at hand as per original poster.

    Crap last insert.... Minus the 1 or 2 folks in this thread, for those complaining about level 50 content and you do Not have a level 50, Shame on You. How can you possibly base your opinion(s) off of an experience you have yet to have?

    Spoiler ALertz! --- The game hasn't launched yet.... Things will more than likely be different once we get there, IF in fact the content is as some race car drivers have complained it is already. Silly Gooses.

    This game looks and feels like an Elder Scrolls game should be. With many additional bonuses. Don't rush through, take your time, craft, fish, grind, explore, hell just chat, but do not rush through the game. That only diminishes your experience, which would otherwise enable you to have a more sound and educated opinion to share. I for one am thoroughly enjoying my level 6, which I am learning completely the ins-and-outs of. The point is, find what you like about the game and do that if you truly want to play it, if not (in the Eternal words of the Floaters) Float... Float Oonnn.

    Ok... got side tracked again, but I'm attracted to ignorance. Seriously.. :(

    To the original poster, grats on your levels, but the probability of having missed something, quest, goals etc. is high right now. Keep looking, do as others have suggested, get your gear upgraded, take a hard look at your spec and so forth.

    To all of you, if you are a fan of Elder Scrolls and Bethesda, have heart! Again, the game hasn't launched yet. The best is yet to come. Cheers!

    How else do you improve something if you don't compare, there have been so many fail MMOs coming out of big IPs that you would think ESO didn't have to do all of the same bad things for themselves,

    Also TES has been around for decades and I for one am not to embaressed to say that it is missing many good parts of the series I love like choices or that I don't like their idea of putting immersion over actual playability hell even chatting is apain to do while your doing other things seriously ?

    This got somewhat off topic, in a brief return to the topic at hand, I have heard both that leveling is fine, and that leveling is too hard.

    In my experience it seems that leveling is a little to hard/slow. MANY people are completing a area (or so they think) and cannot progress to the next area because they are noticeably, were as people who REALLY complete a area end up being slightly over-leveled. For example I thought I had completed most of stonefalls and was level 12, But the next area started at 15, and a guild mate who pointed out that I missed some had made it to 16 before starting the next area.

    This makes it seem like we are expected to explore and complete about 90%+ of a given area instead of a more reasonable (easier to find, follows the natural progression of quests/roads) 70%

    This is not a all that uncommon problem in MMO's actually. However, MOST MMO's with this problem also have multiple areas to level at any given time granting you another at level area to go to to try and find more stuff to make up for what you missed. In The Elder Scrolls Online, every alliance only has 1 area for each level range, meaning you have to complete just about all of the content to make it to the appropriate level.

    This ends up being compounded by the lvl 50+ 10 veteran levels requiring you to clear the other 2 alliances of the game to get lvl 10. While interesting, and fun I like completing content after I am maxed out (speed runs, no-armor runs, ect..) This creates the problem of having to play ALL of the games content multiple times to get multiple characters to level. What if I decide I HATE 1 specific zone, but cannot get my last veteran level without it? Compound that by me playing 3 or 4 characters (I plan on having a healer, tank, and dps character, and one of each class) and after I've leveled the 2, I give up on my third because I don't want to go to that area again. (act 3 of diablo 2 anyone?)

    veteran you cant even do alone unless you pro the basic mobs kill you. also you need to do basically every single quest in every zone to hit rank 10 vet since the mobs give you 42 exp and your target for lvl 2 vet is 425k

    I've been attracted once more....

    The Real problem most people have with any new MMO is that they want it to feel like the previous experiences (i.e. a familiar feel Compared to XYZ MMO). Suddenly something that is new and follows a different, harder progression line is bad. If folks pay attention, most of the DEV comments clearly stated that this game was primarily based around exploration to advance in-game. Thusly you have to actually go looking, instead of having EXP handed to you. This game is as it should be in it's developmental stages, because that is what it's still in and will be for months more to come. MMO's evolve to become good or great, none start off with such statuses. As far as the being over-leveled going into a new area, when has that Ever been a bad thing?

    Lastly, if there are problems that you feel so compelled to mention, how many emails or contacts have been made to the devs specifically with constructive communication. Quite frankly I hope the game does get harder and harder, that is the "justification of existence" of any MMO to provide challenge. Just because something is hard, does not mean it's impossible, it just means we have not figured it out yet. In a year people will be on these same forums complaining about how Easy the game is. Probably the same people who are now stating that is too difficult. Anyway! Cheers!

    @Godofcheese‌ i left deshasn the other day and was level 24 without mob grinding i did do all the anchors, dungeons, world bosses more than once and discovered every location. And i did not even do the tier 2 group dungeons and no pvp. Have you discovered all locations in your previous zones? Even at lets day 25 u go to bleakrock and discover a location it gives u lvl 25 equivalent discovery exp or scaled to whatever level you are. Just a tip!

    If you get all skyshards, quests, battlefield bosses and dark anchors plus main storyline, you will be right at the correct level for the next zone quests. No mobs grinding, no pvp for extra exp needed. Anyway it's what I am experiencing so far. There is a TON of content on each map, explored every tiny spots on the map where you see nothing, big chance you'll discover one more quest or cave.

    For pvp, I still have to start it (too stuck in the pve stories) but in beta getting in a group or raid was the way to go. If you get one-shot you might want to check your armor and health and maybe get protective skills.

    Im kinda shocked how people manage to run out of quests.

    If anything imo this game has TOO MANY quests.

    I'm pretty much always over the level of quests, and I skip like 75% of them. I'd actaully like a disable-level up option because I oftne out level a zone before im even half done with the quests. (and while they give xp over lvld, it's still not as fun to do them, as you get no loot or achievement progress)

    You seriously must purposely run by every single monster to manage that.

    Monsters give a lot of xp in this game. Kill some for a change and youll do fine.

    Maybe it's my old school mentality, but yea I enjoy actaully fighting some stuff along the way, so it keeps me far above the curve I guess. but still can't get how other players manage to fall so severely behind it.

    1. Make sure you find every single skyshard in every zone those spend on your passive abilities
    2. Don't skip quests some rewards skill points even if they are not main quest
    3. Explore
    4. Understand what your abilities do, all mobs even multiple 4-5 levels above you you should be able to kill no problem at Lv 25, crowd control often
    5. Wear right mix of armor and weapons for your play style
    I am in still in Deshaan at level 26 and there are still quests for me to do, I also collected all skyshards from starting zones Stonefall , deshaan and prophet and tribunal quests never had any problems with even soloing world bosses

    As the title says.
    I'm a lvl 25 Imperial Templar
    and I'm currently in Shadowfen, and I'm out of quests that are my lvl.. I don't know how that is possible, and I can't manage the 27-30 quests either.
    I also get oneshotted in Cyrodill doing the daily quests against lvl 25s.

    In other words, i'm stuck.

    Well it sounds like you missed a few quests...I highly suggest you go back and complete some of the ones you missed. But if you actually ant find anymore, guess its time to do team play.
    As you noticed the game's level system is way out of balance...what may be rated as 10 levels lower then you might be stronger then anything you can handle. And no it doesn't get any better when you level up...just gets worse.

    The person who said they went to level 50 in a day or so....yeah you can exploit and have friends power level you fast if that's what you want to do too.

    Its why they are having issues leveling in the veteran ranks....they where doing easy stuff to level and now have to actually use their skills...which they never actually used much. And with only 5 active skills slots...lol.

    For Veteran Play I suggest you do the adventure zones...should be a few more released soon as well.

    Truthfully they don't want players leveling up fast...so they messed with the balance in the game....and made things very difficult in many places....but...they failed to calculate for number of players and other things....thus allowing people to exploit the system and level faster.

    Like for example they made some bosses and single enemies really tough....when instead they should have increased the numbers of those enemies. To make up for the tough enemy they increase its exp output.....thus making it an easy farming target for a small group.

    The person who designed the encounter thought it was good on paper....but from lack of testing didn't realize they made a balance mechanical error.

    They should have played it or thought of what something like this would be like in the real world...but they didn't...thus they left a broken mechanic which allows small groups to level up quick.


    I play a lot of games so I see these errors a lot...and I have seen many ways these things where fixed.
