I quit a year ago due to the game just not keeping me engaged. I like a lot of features compared to old mmos I played, just always felt like something was missing. I read about Necro class and got excited. Do they play like DKs in WoW? Is there an army of the dead type move? I only know about a mass rez move as a healer (is it an ultimate or regular move? Probably ultimate I am guessing)

I quit because trials are impossible to get in and you couldn’t que in them, and guilds for the most part are useless, at least the ones I found. That, and I was never an ‘elite’ dps and had no idea how to get the good gear without being in trials where I bet they drop.

Is the game worth coming back to? I’d probably try if Necro was good and I could become the type of ‘melt everything in sight’ dps. I ran support and was a mediocre yet serviceable and competent I was ok but couldn’t solo melt everything like the rare player I came across in dungeons. I want to come back but need help. How can I get to that level of dps? I have 900+ cp and one of every toon before I left.
Do not come back for Necro. By all accounts it's a buggy mess of a class right now.

To get into a normal trial, listen to zone chat in Craglorn. I guess it depends on platform, but on PC EU it's easy to find a trial group that way.

You don't need trial gear. You only need that for the highest level of competitiveness. You can steamroll all content, if you are full CP and skillful enough. Melting everything in sight requires you to understand game mechanics and practice your rotations. That doesn't come easy to everyone and may require some serious work, but that's what boosts your DPS like crazy, as long as your gear and build is decent. Trial gear may give you the last few % of damage, but a setup like Spell Strategist + Mother's Sorrow will get you close. Those sets can be farmed or are available in guild stores.

Just to understand what level you were playing at, did you ever complete vMA?

I only play PVP (PC EU) so my answer would be no ,not worth it, the perfomance is laughable and insulting (big delay) so even if has potential dont worth the come back for someone who is gone, for those who stay then better have a good motivation for it (a good friend , nice guild ,or just want play really casual).

Now about PVE... i never got remotely interested in the end pve content and by what you wrote you are a PVEr , a new class helps to bring interest to people ,i already saw a lot necros around and perhaps the new chapter zone is fun ,then you have this new guild finder but i had no use it so no idea if is useful

Honestly my opinion is that i would recommend this game to people for the Pve (but not for the pvp) however you already got the point where you try search "elite" guilds for do the end content etc,and anyway it made you quit ,so as long you dont get lucky and find a nice pve guild at the moment you come back, then i would not recommend the game ,if the Elsweyr chapter (talkin about zone ,quest, pve in general there) is like the vivec one (last time i spend money on game) then absolutely not worth it.

Yeeeeah about that, i dont know better game with AvAvA.

Performance is bad in prime time, but theres no alternative really, GW2 abandoned their WvWvW.

I came back after a year and I'm happy I did.
I main a raid friendly healer but wanted to finally break free and test Stam and went bow/bow stamcro like I tried with a warden and I love this build!
    Soooo much fun.
If it helps I started at the beta. I'm really happy with the changes, balances etc.
Others will cry but that's the min maxers who are never happy.

Hmmm… depends on what you are looking for.

If you problem was to find Groups for Trials, and that was the only thing that really drove you off, I say the game is worth oming back to, because we now have a Guild finder, where you can look for a Trial Guild, no matter if Casual or Hardcore, so the chance to find a Guild that does alot of Trials where you can find a place is pretty high right now.

For the Necromancer, on Stamina he plays kinda like the WoW DK, You dont have an Army of the Dead Skill or permanent Pet, but you can summon different undeads for a short time to work for you (A Ranged DPS, A Healer, an AoE Nuke (currently bugged)) and overall I like the feeling.

The closest thing to an Army of the Dead Spell is one of the Morphs for the revival ultimate, that turns up to three corpses into Skeletons that Charge at nearby enemys and explode.

    So in short:
It was never easier to get into a Trial Guild, and the necromancer is alot of fun.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Never completed vMA. I was casual and just played with the wifey in regular dungeons really. Would like us to get into trials.

Game is fun but the servers are messy at the moment. Esp. PC EU is giving us headaches.
Necro tank is huge fun btw.

So I was kind of in the same boat as you a yearish ago?
I quit when Morrowind dropped. Never had done a trial, didn't really do any end-game stuff. After completing some of my favorite content (Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild) I kind of felt like I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do and didn't know how to start getting into trials.

I came back around Summerset, and have had a blast ever since. Craglorn zone is super easy to look for trial groups to gear up. The gear will drop in normal as well as vet, and now that there's a guildfinder, it shouldn't be too hard to find a guild that suits you specifically: a returning player inexperienced with trials but wanting to get into them.
I always find something to do when I log in, whether it's dungeons/trials or just fishing/questing/exploring at my leisure. I tried to go back to another MMO recently and it couldn't compare, even if it's a really good game itself.

    Will heal DPS for memes.
