BUG: FIXED - 05/28/2019 - Crafting Surveys removed entirely?

I got 12 characters, all max level, been doing writs almost every day for about 2 years now, I'm well aware that it's Supposed to be RNG. But the way it is right now for me isn't about an unlucky streak.
I've been drawn to this thread because I have noticed the same and it seems like more people have noticed it too.

I really hope ZOS can announce when this issue has been resolved. Because for now I'm putting my writs on halt until the issue has been dealt with.

Definately. Same here with 8 toons and not a single survey so far. I have ESO+ but I don't have Elswyer.
It's pretty easy to notice the bug if you do those writs every single day.

Im getting more then ever, used to get one per character on a good day when I did all the writs, now Im getting 2-4 per character, sometimes even two from the same writ ie clothing
Do you have Elsweyr? YES
Are you getting surveys or not? YES

Things I have: ESO+, nine daily crafters.

Things I do not have: Elsweyr, surveys.

Three days times nine crafters times seven crafts, and I'm 0 for 189? ZOS needs to address this.

@Billdor When something only has a 1 in 100,000,000 chance of happening, you can start asking questions... Hell in science, the threshold is 1% (1 in 100) (or even 5% (1 in 20)) for something to be 'random' and say that there is an issue.

Yes, I'm fully aware on how randomness works (I studied Physics and Mathematics in school), We are talking about astronomical odds here against, with multiple others confirming.

For those of you in this thread who are responding, please clearly indicate the following.

Do you have Elsweyr? Are you getting surveys or not?

Do you NOT have Elsweyr? Are you getting surveys or not?

The bug appears to be accounts that do not have access to Elsweyr not getting surveys, while those accounts that do have Elsweyr are getting double survey drops

This is what I have seen.. I have 1 account with Elsweyr, getting surveys, even doubles.
I have a 2nd account without Elsweyr - no surveys, 15 characters, all 6 crafts (no provisioning) (15x6x2 = 180) (0 for 180). (7/8)^180 = 0.000000003% chance of that occurring due to random chance.

I run all writs everyday on 24 characters across 2 accounts.

Account 1 has Elsweyr and has been receiving surveys since U22 went live, sometimes double surveys in the boxes.
Account 2 does not have Elsweyr and has not received a single survey since U22 went live.

This is not some case of bad RNG, they broke something with the update... considering they added some new surveys for Northern Elsweyr my guess would be thats where something went wrong when they made that change.

I had a dry spell for several days also. Then last night, BAM! I even got double surveys on one turn in.

Except those maps usually don't even have set gear and are meant for new players.

Maybe they rebalanced it because they didn't intend people to mass farm writs with 30 characters. Maybe they want them to be rare.

Turns out it was the Any Race/Any Alliance bundle I bought! I wasn't paying attention to the fact that it came with maps, I just wanted my Necro to wear blue and have the pet/horse/outfit haha. Good perk!

I have literally provided the statistics of it... We are literally talking about a 1 in 100,000,000 chance of it being random. (More now, as I'm doing my writs on the alt account... we're now 0 for 198 on them a 1 in 300,000,000 chance now

I hate anecdotal evidence, and have called others out for using it myself. I have hard data.

Try again.

Edit: My main account (WITH ELSWYER) has received 25 surveys in the past 2 days... a drop rate of about 12.5%, which is in line with historical patterns

3rd day, 10 master crafter toon, doing all daily writ, no Elsweyr: 0 surveys so far after update.

If they reduced the rates... fine, that's their prerogative. (They increased the materials dropped with Wrathstone, I was fully expecting them to reduce the rates on survey drops)

If they reduced the rates to ZERO on accounts who haven't PURCHASED the latest expansion... that is a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE THING... and we need an explanation.

Why even suggest this if you have read the thread? Did you read what the problem is that people are talking about? It is a binary issue easily disproven if not true.

People are saying that surveys are not dropping at all if you don't own Elsweyr. That is not a rate issue.

All we need is a single person who does not have Elsweyr on their account to tell us they received a survey. That hasn't happened.

And even that rebalancing motivation seems counterproductive. Why would you rebalance to punish people who do a lot of writs when that means never getting anything for people who occasionally do writs? And why even add writs to the game if you don't want people to do them?

Third day no writs. 42 turn ins a day. 3 days 126 turn ins with 0 surveys. I am a paying ESO+ member and have all except the most current chapter. I would normally have about a dozen or more surveys at this point. If it was about balance they would have described such in the patch. There is nothing about surveys mentioned in patch. That means these are unintended results of the update.

BUG!

Nice. Just did writs on a single character. Got 2 blacksmithing surveys from single writ.

Very odd that the ownership of a chapter has any impact on survey rates.

Same boat as everyone.

1 account WITH Elsweyr - 4 crafters = multiple surveys since patch
1 account WITHOUT Elsweyr - 9 crafters = 0 surveys

Please give us feedback on this. Its a huge waste of mats and $ (sells)

Aren't they mainly rng? I get them some days and none other days. Reworking on 3 Crafters again on PC like I had on console.
