Given the constant hate and cries towards upcoming decisions i get to read about in Zone/Guild chat and here on the forums recently, as well as occasional hate tells telling me they can't wait for the next patch, should I prepare for shelving my Nightblade and just focus on another class? Which class is currently doing well and is fun to play as a main character focused on stamina? Both PvE and PvP (And yes I only really play one character.)

If your Nightblade is a stamblade then no, stamblades are fine in Elsweyr, Magblades took a nerf hit but they're not dead either, people just like to exaggerate nerfs
    Hoping for more playable races

It only will be barely less gank and more brawler. People are out of their minds if they think is going to really drop NBs. The biggest threat is more enemy night blades slotting mark.

Don’t shelf it, but make a stamina warden anyway... similar to Nightblade in that there are tons more magic skills but this can be mitigated to some degree with a set like shacklebreaker (increased max/recovery for magic and stamina). It’s the most fun class (for me) and it’s great in cyro...

Well since i'm more into warrior type gameplay and less about ganking (just liked the dark theme of NB), would u say Warden works the best as a "warrior" class? Or is there a better option? :)

Nightblades got shafted. Stamblades and magblades got nerfed.

Youll do less damage and have less effective tools to kill.

If youre an experienced player, youll defeat bad players 1v1.

Enemies that were strong against you will now be stronger against you due to nb nerfs.

As for pve, youre not the best tank or healer. As a single target damager you may or may not be top 3.

If youre ok with this and have fun, play it. But I wouldnt come to the forums and ask if the class is ok. This is where the people that wanted the nerfs hang out. To them the class is perfectly fine and the changes were great!

I don't plan on shelving either of my NB's (1 stam, 1 mag). However, I do wish ZOS would stop nerfing the crap out of things because of PVP.

If you look at it as a choice between dragonknight and warden ... I would say dragonknight if you want tankier more defensive oriented or warden for slightly tanky, better dps. Definitely branch out though! Play through both to level 10 or so and see if they click for you... playing a different class will give you different ideas for you main so there’s that benefit as well.

I have a prediction that Stamblades will be harder hit with the changes then magblades, but I’m just guessing. There were not a lot of BGs on PTS to test and I only did 3.

Stamblades can do well, but I think you’re going to be forced into either an archer or heavy armour brawler with dark cloak. Reason being aoe has been buffed like crazy, and with caltrops being buffed so much it’ll be an easily accessible 28m range stamina aoe to knock NBs out of stealth.

PvP is going to change a lot when it’s anything larger then 2 people. How it will pan out? I’m just guessing, but stamblade I think will be the hardest hit if you’re a glass canon type. If what I saw on PTS continues Cloak will be next to useless in melee range.

I may be a bit of a contrarian too, but I’m fairly sure magblades will end up stronger then before the patch. Those that adapt will do well.
I enjoy being the underdog playing MagNB in PvP.

Agreed. It would be too easy if you play a dominant class.

I’m salty about the nerfs and yes I have rage all over the forums because these nerfs suck but stamblade will still be good in the right hands in Elsweyr but our biggest problem will be fighting tanky builds especially and mainly in my opinion tanky stamina dks with 40k resistances with dots and defile this will be our problem 👍

    Uh.. yea.

I know some people base their personal value on video games.

    Im not one of them.

A class.. Got nerfed. Not me. Im still OP and awesome.

Did they really remove the stun (on NPCs only) from ambush? Cos I find that really useful in pve and against the npc's in cyro. We don't exactly have a lot of stun moves, as a stam nb.

I’m maining stamblade next patch. People that say stamblade is nerfed are the bad players who zerg surf and can’t handle outnumbered combat. If you play stamblade because every other class is too difficult, then yes it’s a nerf. If you are looking to grow as a player then it’s a buff.

    This is funny.

"People that say stamblade is nerfed are the bad players who zerg surf and can’t handle outnumbered combat"

Nightblade is appealing because of its effectiveness when solo. Its kit is mostly single target and solo oriented. If any class was designed to be a lone wolf, this is it.

This patch nerfed that while aoe/group skills got buffed. DBoS, P.extraction, mark, ambush, etc.

But hey, sometimes that inner "nerd" comes out. You jump online and make generalizations to fuel your belief.

I'm going to make 100 accounts to like this 100 times. The amount of nerfing that seems to be done with ONLY PvP in mind is absurd. If ZOS has THAT big of a problem with PvP balance, then they need to start figuring out a way to change skills so that the change only applies in PvP situations. I know people have been saying this for years though and nothing has changed, so I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I've tried other classes and they just feel hokey. I'm a ride or die stealthy archer/melee class player across games, so I really don't like knowing that if the NB nerfs keep continuing in the direction that they seem to be going, where a heavy armor brawler type NB is the strongest (THAT'S NOT A NIGHTBLADE, BY THE WAY), I'll look elsewhere for games that can remain true to that.

And yeah, I realize that I can adapt and play whatever style I want, but to me it's more the fact that they're making these changes solely with PvP in mind with what seems to be zero regard for the effect on PvE.

Stamblade dps is so huge right now that I<ll doubt the nerf will make them undesirable in PvE. People are over reacting. I know that I<ll keep my stamblade for PvP but I don't care if its good or not.

Don't stop playing a character or play style you enjoy just because people on the forums are upset over whatever changes come to whatever Class or role, OP. Play what you think is fun, and only stop if it stops being fun for you. Don't let others' disappointment in something dictate your enjoyment, especially since most of the time, the things people are upset about don't affect the majority of players (ie they're changes to how things work in PvP, or they're changes to meta gear, stuff like that).
    Character List [RP and PvE]:
Stands-Against-Death: Argonian Magplar Healer - Crafter
Krisiel: Redguard Stamsorc DPS - Literally crazy Werewolf, no like legit insane. She nuts
Kiju Veran: Khajiit Stamblade DPS - Ex-Fighters Guild Suthay who likes to punch things, nicknamed Tinykat
Niralae Elsinal: Altmer Stamsorc DPS - Young Altmer with way too much Magicka
Sarah Lacroix: Breton Magsorc DPS - Fledgling Vampire who drinks too much water
Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath
Lirawyn Calatare: Altmer Magplar Healer - Traveling performer and bard who's 101% vanilla bean
Gondryn Beldeau: Breton Tankplar - Sarah's Mages Guild mentor and certified badass old person
Gwendolyn Jenelle: Breton Magplar Healer - Friendly healer with a coffee addiction
Soliril Larethian- Altmer Magblade DPS - Blind alchemist who uses animals to see and brews plagues in his spare time
Tevril Rallenar: Dunmer Stamcro DPS - Delthor's "special" younger brother who raises small animals as friends

Come, make a Bosmer Nightblade with me, and together we can detect PvE enemies that can't be bothered to hide. But at least we won't be hurt by the loss of our burst heal, because enemies will be too busy laughing at us as we tumble along the road to be doing any damage to us.
