part of my log in routine now, check mail, anything from gold spammers reported,
spot some one in chat doing it, report and block.

I think there are even more gold sellers now after the bans... Today have even been worse day so far.

How hard is this? Really, why can't these gaming companies do something substantial? Yeah, yeah, IPs can change, keep at it. Eventually the process will become annoying and tedious enough that at least some of the gold selling companies will move on.

Hey there, everyone. We understand your concerns, and rest assured, we're working hard to keep ESO free of gold-seller spam. Are you adding an auto-ignore for when we report them under the Gold Spam heading? If not, we're still getting spammed. Get a live person in the game to smite these spammers and block the accounts, including the IP of them.

To fix the gold spam you also need to start to ban those that buy gold in game.
If the gold buyers go away the gold spaming goes away. And the real problem is the gold buyers TBH.

I'm almost at 100 accounts ignored (and reported) already.
Is it true that there's a limit to how many people I can ignore? Because if those that I already have in my list won't be banned, I will soon be unable stop them from harassing me in-game.

IP bans won't actually stop anything.

Irrelevant, unfortunately. They're using multiple accounts. They're disposable. You're just putting an account on the ignore list that's gone the next day.

I don't understand - how can an account be disposable? I thought, outside of the free period, that you have to pay a subscription cost. If there is a ban on the account, I assume they don't get a refund and they would have to pay real money for another account...

To KEEP something free of something insinuates that it is free of it or has been at some point. It is worse now than ever.

Keep seeing it non stop in chat, getting the emails and now new today for me, several invites to a gold seller guild with their website in the invite.

It will never stop because you folks in the gaming industry don't really want them to stop.

It'll delay their next attempt. Enough times, they may get frustrated and slow down.

Well, it saves ME the time of not only reporting them but then also having to ignore them. And anything that makes the reporting/ignoring of these annoying accounts is a benefit to us all.

Zeni should offer the people playing the gold sellers jobs in customer support. They've obviously got nothing better to do than run around in circles :)

Why do you not simply scan the chat automatically for Goldsellers?
And dont say thats not possible, in Warhammer Online we had several chat mods that did autoreport and autoignore Goldsellers.
Also this Mods worked perfectly and were programmed by fans, so for gods sake do SOMETHING.

But I can't block them anymore, my block list is full... of just them. I can't even use it for anyone else anymore.

Clear your block list on a daily basis. They don't seem to use the same accounts longer than a day or two.

One of them sent me a guild invite and the guild name was an advertisement for their web site. At least they are getting creative!

Trouble is, due to gold sellers, I now only have my guild chat tab open, and any non guild member that sends me a friend or group request is simply declined and ignored.

Probably some really good people that I've done this to unintentionally and they probably found me rude for ignoring them, but the few times I've accepted, it's been gold spammers.

So not only are they a real pain in the arse, they are ruining the social aspect of the game for many. And because I only have my guild chat open, I also don't see any trade posts, but when I log in and within 1 min I receive a spam email and the entire chat window is filled with gold spammers and people telling the spammers where to go, having zone chat open is not a pleasant experience.

Thanks for the tip re limit on the ignore list. I will continue to report the gold sellers but won't waste time putting them on /ignore anymore.

Also getting in-game mail now from gold sellers so I just report and delete.

I'm assuming these gold sellers have to buy the game in order to play so can't the game key be blocked?

Yes, but they have enough funds to continue purchasing game keys.

I really can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to give any personal details to such a site, but if every time they are banned, they are buying another account, makes you wonder how many stupid people there are.

If they get banned, surely they have to start over again at level 1 and no gold with a new account, or possibly they have numerous accounts so when one is banned, they transfer from another to the new account, which would explain the reasoning innocent people who transferred gold to friends, spouses etc ended up mistakenly banned earlier in the week as zenimax tries to clamp down on the gold spammers and acted a bit over zealously.

The sad thing is, every day, the spam gets worse. So I hope those found to have bought gold also get banned because if they didn't buy it, these vermin wouldn't have any market hence would go elsewhere.
