Kit Rework For Stamina Templar

If you think about the class, there is only 1 spammable damage ability in the damage ability skill line (aedric spear) three for magicka templars. The other two abilities are a gap closer which isn't a damage ability but more of a utility ability, and the other is a damage shield that does damage that scales off of health (which is the worst scaling damage in the game). You should be wanting this re-worked it would be better for both of the classes, Magicka and Stamina. It would be better for Templar as a class as a whole. @ThanatosXR

One things for sure, LA weaving with jabs is a hell of a lot better on PTS. And the few extra seconds of minor fracture should help secure burst kills a bit. My ritual is about 600 extra health per tick. Idk how they’ll perform overall with the rest of the changes to other classes and Necro, but I’m not ungrateful for these small buffs. We will likely still be towards the bottom tier for sure, but a good passive overhaul could change that.

While these issues are obvious to stamplars and stamsorcs (i have seen that people with these play styles tend to agree on both classes having problems). Just look at what happens when a stamplar or stamsorc complains in another thread that is not specifically for templars. You get a barrage of "l2p" , "My best performing characters are on stamina" (while not specifying what class mind you). It blows my mind how people don't understand that a stamina build will perform decent ths to guild/weapon/world skills regardless of the class. They got bursted in a bg once or twice so they think any stamina build is stronger than magika (like pls , we have been tolerating the absurd damage magsorcs dish out for quite a while now).

The only play styles the devs really care about are the most played . That is it , nothing more.

I used to really enjoy dueling. Now every time i win i feel it's because the other player is bad. Against a decently build magsorc a stamplar simply can't negate all that burst for long (and im talking with capped def here). I have been leveling other classes for some time and it is just mind boggling how the devs even refuse to address the issue.

And when you start reading how many pages and pages the other classes get every patch. Like im sorry but the NB class has gotten more attention than even necro. Magsorcs will get an increase in dmg (like they need it but whatever at this point, i can't take a magsorc seriously no matter how good he is as a player).

Jabs is a good spam skill , but only when it decides to work. On top of that i think it's one of the skills that gets mitigated the most from a lot of factors. You will face players you feel you are jabbing with one of those retractable rubber knifes.

I am really done at this point.

Great read, I like the flow of DPS on my Stamplar, but it was always hindered by sustain on single target DPS and in general the trade off for me was a little DPS for more utility. The DPS trade off is too much and the utility is too low currently IMO.

Some things I want to see:

Make Blazing Spear scale off highest stats

Increase the scaling of PotL in some way

Decrease the channel time of Biting Jabs to .8 seconds

Also, I agree with the point Empowering Sweep should not grant empower. Minor Berzerk or even Minor Endurance would be a better choice.
    Playing since beta...

Spammable: Biting Jabs, which also gives Major Savagery for that 10% crit bonus.
Ranged Skill: Binding Javelin, 4s stun
Utility: Power of the Light, for Minor Breach/Fracture AND Damage store/burst
Utility: Ritual of Retribution/Extended Ritual, a nice cleanse/purge at a relatively low cost

You want a good Stamplar Spammable to supplement: Biting Jabs>Brawler --- you get your damage shield and a direct damage hit while an AoE.

Stamplar isn't mean to be top tier DPS, it is meant to be a decent DPS with a nice little debuff in Power of the Light, easy sustain with Restoring Focus and Repentance, and a cute little trick pony now with Cleaning Ritual/Morphs since it's a ground HoT AND 30% Slow movement in it's area along with the cleanse (2-5 effects).

As for the statement off of shield health>damage conversions...please grow a brain. The new OPTIMIZED Radiant Ward gives 4619 on a 44k hp tank (not an unreasonable amount of HP to bit) and then 13k shield (for 0 targets/base). Blazing Shield, same value 13k, but the damage on it is 5372.

The Skill lines are favored towards magicka/mag recovery builds, but disregarding hp shields is....basically stupid. I've been able to move Radiant Ward into my rotation on a magplar as it has an 8.6k AoE value and 9% per target hit bonus to it, making it a pretty reasonable shield on a 17k dps (up to 11k shield in a full press), while on a tank, I've been able to use either one, depending on if I wanted a larger shield or one doing more damage, just had to invest more into spell pen to have it hit hard.

Stamplar needs neither as it has Brawler to fill that niche.

I recall the devs were asked about reworking the original classes (might have been in relation to stamsorc at PAX or ESO live) and they said they were not going to rework old classes again(?)
