Learning recipes on a wrong char....

Role play... my crafter doesn't do any quest lines, my sorceress doesn't do any smithing, my Templar does no alchemy...

I see no reason to have recipe, motif or many other items open account wide. My crafter makes items, puts them in the bank and whichever other character needs them pulls them out of the bank.

I will eventually have one or two houses that they will share...making the role play even better... more cohesive.

I know many people want all the possible achievements on every character... well isn't it cheating that goal if you are just given something on Pete, just because Paul got it?

Argh, no, it would be awful to have to click through an "are you sure" on every single recipe and blueprint.
It would be a much better idea to have the ability to lock them like we can lock weapons and armor.

There are a bunch of things in the game I would love to be able to lock.

So zos, can you please make it so each time you learn a blue or superior furnishing recipe the game actually asks you if you are sure about it? Because you know, you might be opening boxes, you press the button one more time and boom, 160k *** gone.

I mean seriously, wtf zenimax? How can you not think of stuff like this??

Same thing for motifs, it's baffling that you did not think of this, and it;'s been 2 years, TWO YEARS.

Yes i am pissed, because this is pretty basic stuff that is already implemented in the game, and it would prevent stuff like this from happening, so yea, it is also zos fault for not thinking about this, i just lost possibly 200k because of this garbage, not only that but it's also 100 % worthless because it's not my main crafter.

Do you need people to remind you to breath as well? 🤔

Just wish I knew what recipes are worth gold. If my crafter can learn them, I read them. Who know how much richer I could have been.

If you know 80% of the recipes, anyone you don't know is rare.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I've done this a few times these past few weeks... lol. I wish the selection bar wouldn't jump up to it because I'm in the opening up boxes mindset when it does.

I wonder if this is more of a bug. I just opened a large number of event containers and the UI always jumps to the last recipe in alphabetical order. If I get a motif or survey it doesn't jump to that section, only recipes, and only the last alphabetically.

I was in a vet dungeon months back and I thought I'd use one of my xp scrolls but accidentally clicked on my reset skills ones and ended up with no skills to play with on my bars. I've tried to careful since then but yesterday I still accidentally used up a reset attributes scroll. Am I the only one that does this ?

I agree it would be helpful to have a button for recipes and hopefully scrolls. It's not an urgency for me but if they implement it, it would definitely be a bonus.

I've actually contacted ZOS about this through the in game method and have had recipes transferred from one character to another. Try it.
previously @HaruKamui but I outgrew my weeb phase (probably)

It was still you the person playing the account who got the achievement... Really, people? You have nothing to add to the conversation except dismissive and smart aleck responses? Yeah, because we don't already have random characters that have certain skins, dyes, and even motifs not actually earned on that character.

For the people worried about the prices of things going down because of recipes being account-wide... I have yet to meet someone who has multiple crafters of the same profession where they're after all the motifs and recipes just because. Most if not all only need or want furniture recipes, motifs, and food recipes for that one character that they need it on. I don't see how that would affect your farming. It'd just make using and keeping track of what you know or still need to learn easier. As we get stuff we'd see right away if we needed it or not. If we accidentally used something it'd be no big deal because if we were allowed to use it we obviously needed it. Not... "Oh crap I thought I was opening a box and accidentally used a recipe this person who is the character I needed to use it on!" Or, something expensive we already know on the appropriate character but used it on an alt accidentally. Something we could've sold for a nice sum.

what i do is mark furnishings and recipes as junk so they are separated from the rest of the consumables. much easier to keep from accidentally using one on a character that isnt my main crafter

umm I did contribute.. it's called my opinion. It is not dismissive, nor is my complete reply smart aleck.

There are achievements in the crafts... such as "Alliance Style Master" where when you learn all the Alliance styles you get the achievement "Alliance Style Master" and get Motif pattern blue... If you share the motif's ( or recipes ) across that account then all of your characters will get the achievement.

What are the chances that every character is going to find all the motifs recipes? thus get all the achievements in those are's of crafting.. But if everything is shared across the account, then all the achievements are shared across the account.

Sorry.. I want my crafter to get Master Smith, Master Botanist, Master Chef.. etc, I want my Dragonknight to get Master Monster Slayer or Ach-mage... they don't need to share achievements.

My opinion... btw if I had not gotten some advice from friends, I each of my characters would have chosen one craft to specialize in.. and shared the product.
