Next expansion location needs to be Skyrim.

Skyrim has been rereleased 7 times already, id rather go somewhere we havnt been. Leave it for 2021 when its skyrims 10th anniversary

Honestly? No, not really.

The next expansion needs to be focused on Werewolves and Vampires as those 2 storylines and abilities (mostly vampires those as pointed out in this thread) have been neglected for 5 years now.

Fill out Hammerfell or the rest of cyrodiil (as pve) first. I'm personally not very into eso's rendition of the rift and eastmarch. I only go there for surveys. Even my new pact toons tend to avoid those two zones.

Season of the Dragon isn't an exception. It's the new content rule. So going to Skyrim depends on the story, not on strategically unlocking that part of the map.

This is all just one part of a yearlong adventure called ‘The Season Of The Dragon’, which kicked off in March with the smaller dungeon pack, Wrathstone, and provides a clear picture of ZeniMax Online Studio’s plans for future content. With ESO’s first two Chapters, Morrowind and Summerset, ZOS released smaller DLC packs around them, but the content was unrelated to the Chapter. For example Summerset centred on the high elves and their homeland, but the Wolfhunter and Mirkmire DLC packs that followed were all about werewolves and Argonians.
Things needed to change. “We were stepping on ourselves all over the place,” explains ESO director Matt Firor.
“We had this big promotion to get old users back and new users into the game and we used a lot of Summerset content for that, because that was the biggest thing, but by then we’d already launched two more DLC [packs], and people came in and said, ‘Hold on a minute, I thought this was all about elves, why’s everything about lizard people?’ And that was like, ‘Okay, we’ve got to change that,’ and that led to telling one big story, use all Khajiit, Elsweyr, dragons, just tell that story and have one unified message.”

Murkmire is indeed misspelled in the Xbox Magazine article, and two instances of "Elseweyr" on the preview page.

Whiterun hold is definitely close. Key elements are now in the game, dragons etc. Expecting high hrothgar, greybeard guild with way of the voice skill line (fus ro dah ulti) meeting Parthurnax at the summit of throat of the world, it's coming just watch.

I sincerely hope not. We have es5 for all that. Those things are best for single player, not good for mmo, not good for lore.

I'm guessing the location will be related to not being where Elder Scrolls VI is.

The only thing we can say with certainty is it won't be in AD territory, because there won't be much of it left.

Plenty of Cyro territory. DC really deserves a chapter... but EP territory has the most space available on map.

I'm not nostalgic enough for Skyrim (considering that I still play TES V every so often) that I would be excited to see ESO devote a year's worth of content to the province. The Reach would eventually make for a fascinating DLC (considering how the Reachmen are already featured so prominently in the game as enemies) but I would rather see Cyrodiil fully fleshed out first.

I would love to one day get to the point in ESO where I can begin walking in Grahtwood, continuing east through various fully fleshed out zones (Pellitine, Anequina, Blackwood, etc) until I can reach Black Marsh.

i would love skyrim, solsthiem would also be cool... the only issue with Winterhold is that we already have the mages guild skill line...so you have to find another opportunity for new interesting skills

Like others have said I’d rather wait until the anniversary. Make that year Skyrim themed with the chapter unlocking Whiterun, The Pale and Hjaalmarch. Save The Reach and Haarfingar for another year in a Reachmen themed release. Then later in the year a small College of Winterhold themed DLC for the Winterhold land after the chapter.

But for next year, Hammerfell for next year would be good as we haven’t had a Daggerfall expansion for a while.

So to sum up:
Next year: Hammerfell chapter, 1 dungeon DLC, a zone DLC, quality of life update/PvP solo free for all battlegrounds.
Anniversary year:
Skyrim chapter: Whiterun, Hjaalmarch and The Pale holds as explorable PvE zones. Saarthal trial. High Hrothgar solo trial.
Skyrim themed dungeons.
Zone DLC: Winterhold PvE explorable zone, College of Winterhold theme with a College skill line.
Blackreach: three things you could do here
1. Turn it into a trial to be released with the College of Winterhold DLC.
2. Squeeze in another zone DLC in Q1 and have it as an explorable zone.
3. Save it for another year.

My bet is one of those:
- Skyrim - Nostalgia reason (yes a game from 2011 is nowadays old). Also it would tie up pretty good with the fact that we have dragons with Elsweyr. It could for example explain how the dragons disappeared etc.
- Hammerfell - Simply because the next TES 6 game is suppoused to take place there. So for ZOS it would make sense to relese that area before TES 6, since after TES 6 less ppl would buy this zone.

Uhh. Yup.

Anyone who thinks vampire and werewolves don't need their own storylines/improvements clearly doesn't understand perhaps the most lacking part of the game. It's fine if you yourself don't like vampires or werewolves, but did it ever occur to you that an update to these lines/an entire chapter/story based off of them might give zos the chance to add in a third "hunter" finally for those that don't want to be vampires or werewolves?

Also saying they don't need such is honestly just pure ignorance. They're the most UNTOUCHED part of the game when it comes to the player character being a vampire/werewolf, there is a ton of room for quest lines and skill-line additions/improvements. And much like the guy said, they haven't been touched in virtually 5 years.

So yes, that is what the next expansion needs to be focused on. There is literally nothing else for them to focus it on, we've had daedra invasions, morrowind antics, and now dragons/imperial takeover.

That's a lot higher than it is for me - it's not even on the list, there is a lot more of Tamriel, Nirn and Oblivion that could (and probably should) be seen first!

2021, a "western skyrim" expansion!
I would love to see that!

Personally I am hoping for more black marsh tho... maybe some imperial remnant regions... and definitely the other morrowind regions, especially the wierd beasts of gorne and the tomb city of necrom... but I really would prefer to see those come as DLCs and not expansions, as to draw more people into those places.

Expansions I want to see...
...at least an Akaviri themed, covering the isles between mysterious akavi and tamriel - letting us find out the reason for the invasion, and prevent the next one, maybe?
...and maybe a maormer themed, to let us see the archrivals of the altmer from the other wide (perhaps with some "high seas piracy" thrown into the mix?)
...and some more "far off places" themed, like... an expedition to ancient Yokuda, see how that place developed after the ra-gada left to settle in hammerfell, and perhaps even one to frozen atmora, see that place...
...and one expansion set -entirely- in a daedric realm. Maybe with an "lost in oblivion and trying to get home" storyline, and a very maze-like realm full of sin and daedric temptations? (Yes, I am looking at you, Sanguine! Tho I guess Vaermina might also make a good candidate, as might Hermaeus Mora - those are the three whose realms I -really- would love to see someday!)
