Can we get combat music like this when Elsweyr drops?
Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where destiny is made.

I play healers or DPS often for vet dungeons and trials (NA, CP810+). I play mostly elves or Argonians.
I primarily play Damage-Based stuff in PvP, but occasionally I'll play something tanky or got the heals.
I also love gaining more knowledge both metaphysical and mundane regarding TES lore.

I also occasionally role-play, but I prefer playing the game.

awesome. makes the summerset one even less interesting than it already is.
and, while it might be because ive done a little light exploring there, it really does bring to mind Elsweyr for me,

I don't like the vocals. But the theme itself is pretty good - at least until the end when it slowed down and got boring. Better than the last two expansions that's for sure.

It's odd - in general I'm not at all interested in vocals in music. There's a few outliers: Crystal Gayle (only CW artist I can stand), Enya, Celtic Woman - and ESO. But my taste generally runs to Classical piano, and Lindsey Sterling.

I'm sort of the opposite. I usually like these kind of vocals mixed in with the music. Enigma for example (I'm showing my age :() has a lot of really cool chants and stuff mixed in with their music. But for some reason the ones on ESO just seem to distract from the song instead of compliment it. I'm not sure why.

Well, music is for sure a very individual taste. I don't ever diss anyone for what they love - even kids who can't hear by the time they're 18 due to how loud they have the volume on their earbuds!

Mine too, unlike husband's. His is leftover from when he drove truck back in the 40s - VERY noisy early diesels, and of course he wouldn't use protective measures.... Some of his issues are also because it's a male-genetic trait in his father's ancestry - and because he refused to get hearing aids when he should have. And some are due to hunting using high-powered and very loud rifles and shotguns since he was a kid (so.... 70 years appx).

And now, he's needing new aids but the ones he's told are best for him come with a big tech involvement: either a very expensive mobile phone plus app, or a "fitbit" type watch - also expensive. I don't care about the cost. The problem is he's allergic to tech. Can't use a computer, when he screws up changing the channel on the tv I get to fix it, and I don't even watch the damn thing!

He can make a call on our antique flip phone. That's it. Of course, he can't do that from here - as we have no cell service at the house.... or internet, or tv. Thank the goddesses for dish antennas!

Kids, protect your hearing. The only worse thing than hearing loss for knowing/enjoying the world is loss of sight....

Forgive me for the analogy, but it felt like they blew their wad prematurely by playing the main Elder Scrolls verse immediately at the beginning and then going full custom for the rest. I liked it better when they start with original music and then slip into the main theme further in, even though that opening was fantastic. (i LOVE strings)

I also agree it really petered out toward the end though. I'm kinda torn. Summerset's theme was great as a whole, while Elsweyr's had a strong start but an uninteresting finish.

The original will always be my no.1 as far as main themes go for ESO. This one had its own flavor, but felt pretty weak compared to all the others. A friend even thought the track was fan-made...

This one thinks it needed more Khajiit vocals. Too much Elf and Nord and not enough yowling.

    The drums were nice though.

This one is sure she will be humming it in her sleep before the end of the month.

It's very good but I do wish that we were able to choose the music on the title screen. Loved the original and the Morrowind one, Summerset not so much.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

As mentioned, musical tastes vary widely, but I enjoyed it muchly from start to finish, including the vocals and the softening at the end. The nice hook (for me) is when a few notes seem to start like the original theme then veer off. It gives a sense of being somewhat familiar but takes us somewhere else

I see what you mean but I thought it was worth it at the very end. Start with straight main theme, full custom, then at the end was a sort of modified version of the main theme in a different key. Came full circle for me.

I did not get the feels from the summerset theme at all, but Morrowind was awesome sauce. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Question... Are the main themes ever played beyond in like the character select screen? Is it not ever played actually in game? Might need a mod for better music selection based on location & combat status....

I really enjoy this main theme- having played around a bit in Elsweyr on the PTS, I feel it's quite fitting to the area and its aesthetic which has the feel of ancient India combined with China. I think out of all of them, it's going to be my favorite, although Vvardenfel's main theme will always be nostalgic for me because I started my first character in Morrowind.

I really like the Arabic flare this piece has- something I would have liked to see more of in the zone music within the various desert areas of the game. It's exotic, like the Khajiit themselves, while the drums lend the whole thing a deep, resonating feeling of darkness and excitement that remind me of the downbeat of a dragons wing's in flight.

The end of this piece seems to be getting a lot of critique, but I don't find it boring at all. It allows it to end with a peaceful yet mysterious "One Thousand and One Nights" feel, like a traveler fading off into a starry desert night in search of where their journey will take them next.

The piece as a whole, from beginning to end, reminds me of some of the best Bollywood, where there is a strong upbeat to start with and a gentle finish. I'm very much a fan of this type of music in general, so I feel like I know where the composers were going with this one and I approve. In fact the more I listen to it, the more I like it, and I could honestly listen to it in every desert zone haha (I probably will be from now on!)

Either way, well done- I wish the rest of the zone music had this much punch and exotic flavor.
