Hi @ZOS_HugoP,
[Incident: 140408-047243]‏

After 84 hours of waiting my brother did not received any kind of information regarding the suspension of his account. He cannot post on forum so I do it for him.

We would be grateful to have more information on what happened and if we can resolve this matter more quickly. The mails we received so far only explained that the problem is being checked by the appropriate team and to keep communicating with the customer support.

We don't know why he got banned and he is definitely not a gold farmer or a exploiter. I've been with him the whole time since the game was launched and we did everything together and I did not get banned for doing exactly the same things.

Thanks!

(update wrong incident number)

Did he give you a large amount of gold at any point?

Yes we gave a large amount of gold to a friend but we both gave the same amount and we gave gold to guildies as well but smaller amounts

ZeniMax tends to permaban people who send large amounts of gold around because they see it as selling gold...

So i wish you the best, but prepare for the worst.

Ya, their support is pretty brutal. Especially for people that get banned for no reason. Those tickets should be priority # 1.

Im starting to think about leaving the community just because of the time it takes to solve this issue. It takes so long I would never want to have to deal with the support.

I've seen many threads about this. What this is doing is discouraging helping others. If people are afraid to get banned, they will become paranoid. I don't blame them. Spent so much money on a game only to have it taken away unfairly and without explanation? Ridiculous. ZOS, are you even reading these threads or just skipping over ones you consider low priority?

Do we get a special price for reaching 5 days of waiting for any progress on an incident?
    [Incident: 140408-047243]‏
Because in about 20 minutes we will reach that point.

Good to know. I was planning on being a nice person and trying to send someone in our guild enough money to buy a basic horse in the future. Now I know not to be a nice person because that can apparently get you banned from the game.

Oh and by the way...if you seriously want a response from Support you should call them and wait on hold for an hour or so. That's the ONLY way you'll be able to talk to someone.

We already tried but being on hold for 2 hours was way too long

Hello! according to the terms of service, they are allowed to ban you without reason or notice. if you already sent in a ticket under the repeal ban section and that did not work, try buying a new account. it sounds like at the moment you just need to wait for them though.

yeah of course buy a new account and lose the imperial edition and pre-order bonuses not gonna happen would rather wait months than lose those benefits.

    Patience is the key.

I would not assume that the ban is due to exchanges of gold. It could be due to something that was said in Zone chat or via whisper. Some action in game could have been reported by one of the people reporting bots, spammers, and gold farmers.

Don't go buying a new copy of ESO. If the ban becomes permanent, for any reason, the new copy of ESO is a circumvention of the ban and that account could also be subject to a ban.

The worst thing to do is violate any other Terms and Conditions while waiting. There is no guarantee that they are forgiving and will overlook transgressions made after the ban.

Finally got good news took 6 days but he is now unbanned! It was because of the mail being a bit overused and he was mistaken as a gold farmer.

hopefully you guys wont have to live through this.

on the sad part his vacation are over and he wont be able to play as much as he thought.

    have fun everyone!
  • Crazysam87

I've mailed no less than 100 items (I'm constantly selling things) and I've also sent gold to a couple friends.

I'm not saying this didn't happen to OP's brother, but don't assume they're handing out bans left and right for this type of behavior.

I am Glad it is resolved. I hope that they give you a couple days credit on his account at the very least. Did you not get charged for those days that it was banned?

Yeah, it seems like they are going after gold spammers with dynamite instead of a scalpel.

I find it hard to blame them as it is a problem and one that customers are constantly complaining about and asking for remedies.

Here's hoping that the will eventually find a more reliable way to detect the true culprits.
  • PerfectTemplar
I gave 15k gold to a friend to help afford a mount, it was most of my gold. If they ban me I will be extremely pissed off.
