They likely have a development instance(s) of the game to work and test on. Their own patch/test servers they can make changes to before bundling the changes into a patch.
Pulling the servers down would gain them nothing.
Find the spine to do it, even the most playerbase would cry and scream over it. Fix the game and then relaunch so we could enjoy a bit more stable enviroment, with less issues.
It will be more beneficial in the long run, i quarantee it. Players would respect Devs more, for making such a bold, but wise move.
Wont you all agree?
To OP: Feel free to take a 1 week break if you are having too many issues. So far for me, it hasn't been too bad of an experience.

Thats what ive been doing, because for me game is unplayable in a way that i cant log in most of the time, and if i can, unknown error DC will kill the game soon and then character is locked out.
Theres a ways to get back in the game, but if i have to undergo that routine everytime i want to play my character for random 1-100mins, it will not do.
These people have no idea how to prioritize. I had a bunch of ticket in because of a login lockout caused by lousy security patch tying ISP address to account. ARE you kidding? The codes take so long to arrive they are expired or plain don't work. I wasn't able to get into a game I PAID for, that should be a priority. Not just me but all of us. Game should never have been allowed to launch. I was in 4 betas, all these things wrong were there. We did copius bug report which probably ended up in ZOS in box and ignored. Kinda the way the tickets are handled. Some customer service. You get flowery role playing clown bot who decides your fate.Unnecessary, just prioritize the critical issues and issue patches on an ongoing basis.

It's pretty simple. If you're not enjoying the game in the state it's in then step away until things get fixed. Nothing wrong with doing that. I've thought about it myself several times just because this is a game I really want to be immersed in. Glitches, bugs, disconnects, login issues can really disrupt any sense of immersion. I'm just having too much fun still when things are actually working well to stop playing right now.
