Crystal fragments proc

OD1N
Hi Guys,

I just made a Sorcerer the other day and got the skill crystal fragments.

Now obviously I want to be using this skill when its procs but I am finding it annoying to know when this is.

I'm surprised that there is no glow animation around the border of the skill when it procs (on PS4). I do realize that my characters hands will have a collection of crystals around them to notify me when it procs but sometimes this is hard to see in battle. Also, my hands glow for other abilities which makes it confusing and difficult to see.

Is there some option on the PS4 to make the skill glow?

Well, there are three indicators for the proc:

    - Purple crystals around your wrist
    - A special sound
    - A buff

If you don't recognize the first two you can go into your settings and permanently activate the buff/debuff tracker.

Eh, I'm fairly sure my magsorc has a glowy border around the skill when it procs. Same with my magblade and the spectral bow proc. There's a special sound and the border starts to glow.

Either way, I'm on PC so I have the benefits of add ons to indicate it.

Uhm if the skill is really glowing when it procs I haven't recognized it yet on PS4. Will check that later when the servers are back up.

Mine does too - but it's probably LUI.. The biggest queue is the audio though.

I logged in today and checked if the skill glows and I don't think it does on PS4?

I changed my buffs option to "on" and can now see the buff above the skill bar! This has helped a lot! Thanks

There is a sound when it procs but I generally play with my sound on really low so its hard to hear.

There is no glow around the skill icon, it could use a icon change the likes of power lash and spectral bow, would be nice

The audio doesn't tell you how long you have the proc active for though. And if you miss the sound cue due to other sound effects or someone talking or whatever, then it's near-on impossible to know if you have a proc active. You need an add-on for that.

They should make the skill change the icon to something else, like the Assassin's Will proc or Flame Lash, while the proc is active.

On top of that I'd also argue that adding timers on the base UI of skills, like the ActionDurationReminder add-on does, would be a great improvement for people playing on console.

Works fine for me. Clear and loud "ching" sound, and constantly proccing.

If it is same like on pc, icon for Crystal Fragments should change color. From blue to purple (just like when you have pet activated) - but only color is changed

I had problems with it too but i have advantage of pc, i can simply download addons.

Now i can see that icon on screen when proc is active, thx to sorcerer helper

On PC the icon changes to purple and I get a buff telling me it is active. I don't believe I have an addon that adds the buff icon, maybe it is a setting like other people are saying. I mostly go by the color that it's active, but that's probably 90% successful because sometimes the icon will be purple but it's not instant to cast.

Can you try with another skill that has the same tells to see if your issue is restricted to frags? Like the scamp, white icon for me when not summoned, purple when it is summoned, and buff on the screen when I use the ability.

    Nothing happens here, never...
It did work some time ago, but I tried several things to check a buff addon, just casting it to see if it's instant, etc...
It's broken for some reason... I'm thinking about trying to reset my skill points... But then I have to spend gold...

    Hmm.

This is ZoS' response if anyone else have the same problem, I am now repairing, will let you know if it works again.

    Greetings!

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team. My name is Allison and I will be more than happy to assist you today!

I understand that your Crystal Fragments ability is not triggering its chance to make your next Crystal Fragments cost less, deal more damage, and be instant. First I would recommend removing your add-ons and running a repair on your game files.

To completely remove add-ons from The Elder Scrolls Online, players should perform the following steps:
    PC:
Go to the "Elder Scrolls Online" folder in My Documents.
Open the "live" folder (NA megaserver) or "liveeu" (EU megaserver).
Remove all files from the "AddOns" folder.
Remove all files from the "SavedVariables" folder.
Remove AddOnSettings.txt from the "live" folder.

Please note, players do not need to delete these files. They simply need to be removed from the game folders. Players can keep them safe by moving them to another folder.

Players who did not delete these add-ons and wish to restore them can do so by moving the files back to the "AddOns" folder.
After that, run a repair by following the steps below:
Click Game Options (located under the News Section).
Click Repair and wait for the process to finish

Ok so, repairing the game files seemed to fix it.
If anyone else is having the same problem check the post above.
I still don't have a clear representation of when the buff is active, aside from the sound so I guess I'll download an addon for that.

Just practice with it. With enough time on that build you’ll start to subconsciously notice the proc sound without even having to think about it.

Many of us on PC use Addons that help notify us of different things and this could be from an addon.

However, the purple crystals around the hands or wrists is accurate as a base game notification.

Interesting. Never seen those before, never heard a sound notification, but on PC the skillbar icon definitely changes color.

Try to adjust your sound settings. Turn up effects volyme, lower ambient and music volyme.

On PS4, the skill on your action bar turns from blue to pink. Look closer.

Mate, necromancer doesn't come out for a few weeks, chill. This thread is from a year ago before they implemented the cursor change on a procced frag.
