Well I dont like it, and streak has an increased cost per cast based on how effective and unique it is. I'll go that far.

Streak is reliable, cloak is not. I do agree that invisibility is too effective (when it works) though.
Streak is reliable...on flat terrain without any obstacles and when sorc is not immobilized and enemy dont have gap closers. Streak "is too effective (when it works) though".

Great point. I like your thinking. Cloak should have a similar cost increase as you use it, especially with the new changes coming to the skill.

PVP is the only place where stealth is useful. Well, unless you are a DB/TG junkie. So, naturally PVPers would want to nerf it.

I’d be okay if shadowy disguise had increasing costs... on the condition that nothing should be able to break you out of stealth, no aoes or anything. Until that happens no, there are too many counters.

Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

The opposition to stealth and invis gameplay in ESO reminds me of CS players who don't like snipers and BF players who don't like vehicles when those are core elements of the game design.

No, it's not fun to have a bomb drop on you from a plane or to be one-shot from a sniper you can't even see. However, overcoming those obstacles is fun.

The PVP culture in this game becomes more PVE-like every day. PVE players hate to die. That's why all PVE mmos are super ezmode now. They are primarily played by the audience who turned most single player games into interactive stories with no actual gameplay.

I always wonder, how many people that complain about stealth, or cloak specifically have ACTUALLY played a magicka nightblade in pvp long enough to be decent, then, still hold the opinion that cloak is overpowered?

My guess is not many, and that most people find stealthers frustrating because pre-emptive attacks are often the most neglected consideration when building a characters defenses. The counters exist, there are all kinds of things... a single ability that when slotted negates the power a nightblade is supposed to hold, at least conceptually.

People who played a magNB a while know that one of the biggest costs to having cloak, or just being a magNB in general is that as a class it's much harder to play than others... well, used to be. MagNB for the most part has been officially 'casualized'; the cloak at this point is just bells and whistles. Currently, the most popular magNB build out there doesn't even use shadowy disguise, it uses dark cloak, which doesn't go invis. But they nerfed that, too.

That was a mistake, as mentioned before, people were shouting for shadowy disguise nerf but dark cloak got busted. I really respected people who use dark cloak over shadowy disguise and I will still do. The nerf was un called for, even for the people who hate NBs aka(magsorc).

Is sneaking (stealth) around in a war zone fair? I'm sorry, is this really a question?

This is the description of nightblades when you enter character creation:

”Nightblades are adventurers and opportunists with a gift for getting in and out of trouble. Relying variously on stealth, blades and speed, they thrive on conflict and misfortune trusting to their luck and cunning to survive.

Nightblades can specialize on three distinctive class skills. The player is free to focus on one line or distribute points across many, allowing for deep build customization.”

Now tell me, does this strike you as a class that likes to fight fair?

This about sums up how ridiculous this post is.
