We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.
How can you justify this? Maintenance on a FRIDAY NIGHT?

Wow people, I'm extremely happy with the time they those, I live where it counts (USA East Coast) And to hear that they're supposedly fixing server issues just in time for me to finish my toast, pour another cup of coffee. Have my morning smoke. Call off work for the day. Then get ready to play the whole day and weekend issue free? That's perfect. absolutely no issue. They chose the perfect time.

If 8am EDT is 10pm Oceanic time, then 11am/12pm for us would be 1am/2am in the morning Friday Night/Saturday Morning for the Oceanic players. Would that an acceptable compromise? Most players here in NA would be at work on a Friday at 11am, so it would not negatively effect the majority of NA players, and it would allow our Oceanic fellow-gamers to have their Friday nights of gaming. Seems like a win-win compromise to me.
Unless schools out, then you killed it for a lot of others. Instead of a Friday, they should have it on Thursday. Thursday at 11AM EDT wouldn't effect many that I can think of.1 -

Friday, is basically the start of the weekend, after you get home from work.
The Oceanics seem angry, and it looks they have a right to be, this is a dumb situation they are forced into.
-you can see the frustration in some of the comments, and it's not made any easier when other people who are not oceanic are arguing with their feedback, kinda dumb, i hope those weren't the people the feedback was based on.
The EU server's are currently based in US.
But will be moved to EU at some point, so it's pointless to argue that an oceanic person should go play on there.I for one think Friday is another horrible day to put Maintenance on, i don't understand the decision.
By "player feedback" do you mean:

These maintenance times do not affect me in the least, but I will say, it is quite odd to have them on Tuesdays and Fridays. Most people have Fridays off over a Monday, and most people play sick at work on Fridays as well. The Monday/Thursday option would have been the ideal times for maintenance.
Also, where did ZOE get their polling from? I was never asked what time was best for me, did you guys? I seriously doubt that WE told them Friday was a good day for maintenance.
Better question! How many MMO's over the last 10 years didn't use Tuesday morning as a maintenance window for their NA server?
Also, I don't think they actually need to call you up on your phone, and ask you that question...when all they have to do is look at server load throughout the day/week to determine the best time.
Personal note...I see more people missing at work on Monday morning's than Friday morning's. Might be because we grill out every Friday...Texas thing I guess. No one wants to pass up getting fat on free food!

You aren't exactly right or wrong however.. you have to understand that we've been climbing the same rope for many years and not with just ESO but other titles too.

NO that's not how it works. Consideration is about compromise. You don't call it a compromise when you're only listening to the majority. What's happening now is really bad for a whole region of the world, and they could easily make it less of an impact for us with a little compromise.

Have you not seen these forums? We don't support the person right next to us, why on earth do you think we would support a region for which a lot of us don't even know?
Now I would agree that region based servers should actually be within that region.
However I do not agree that the window should be changed. I actually think its a good time, as it would mean a fresh server restart right before the weekend for the primary server audience.
Don't think of this as an anti-oceanic perspective, but I prefer the idea that servers for NA have schedules based on NA times.
