Some people will always get screwed. That's just how it is. This has nothing to do of when it's the best time for you. They schedule (or try, anyway. Leniency is given in the first month-two months due to major issues that need to be addressed) their maintenance based around the lowest server activity (Such as the lowest amount of people that are usually on at a particular time.)
It sucks, but tough. There's nothing you can do about it. Unfortunately, the minorities/alternative scheduled peoples that usually play around the time of maintenance only have the option to just deal with it.

This one must defend the OP. If Mystic would check his timezones, he would realize Valen is in Guam timezone.
Starting immediately, we have changed the regular maintenance times for The Elder Scrolls Online, based on player feedback.
Lots of valid points and I do understand...But... There are 4 other non-peak days in the week. Why Friday of all nights? Surely there would be other options...
Instead of attacking each other over who is more "entitled" to a priority in consideration, why not talk about potential solutions?
The Friday maintenance time is obviously the issue. Why not move it 2-3 hours? Say, Friday @11am EDT/12pm EDT? If 8am EDT is 10pm Oceanic time, then 11am/12pm for us would be 1am/2am in the morning Friday Night/Saturday Morning for the Oceanic players. Would that an acceptable compromise? Most players here in NA would be at work on a Friday at 11am, so it would not negatively effect the majority of NA players, and it would allow our Oceanic fellow-gamers to have their Friday nights of gaming. Seems like a win-win compromise to me.
I for one think Friday is another horrible day to put Maintenance on, i don't understand the decision.
By "player feedback" do you mean:
"we selected a different day at random because one of the other maintenance days was upsetting people"
I stopped reading this thread because of all the back and forth crying about minorities and the such. These maintenance times do not affect me in the least, but I will say, it is quite odd to have them on Tuesdays and Fridays. Most people have Fridays off over a Monday, and most people play sick at work on Fridays as well. The Monday/Thursday option would have been the ideal times for maintenance.
Also, where did ZOE get their polling from? I was never asked what time was best for me, did you guys? I seriously doubt that WE told them Friday was a good day for maintenance.

Unless schools out, then you killed it for a lot of others. Instead of a Friday, they should have it on Thursday. Thursday at 11AM EDT wouldn't effect many that I can think of.

Wow people, I'm extremely happy with the time they those, I live where it counts (USA East Coast) And to hear that they're supposedly fixing server issues just in time for me to finish my toast, pour another cup of coffee. Have my morning smoke. Call off work for the day. Then get ready to play the whole day and weekend issue free? That's perfect. absolutely no issue. They chose the perfect time.
You Non-Americans have seen for the past 10 years company's cater to us. The USA. For any of you to still complain about this you need to grow up and maybe move out of the *** hole your in.
ZOS has done an amazing job with this game and with 61 million items in game. They have definitely worked their ass off, not for you to sit and complain. Be glad they even allow your country to play it!

There's a difference between making a time that doesn't affect USA much and making a time that completely screws over a whole region.
They need to shift maintenance times to take Oceanics into consideration.

When you're the majority, you'll be considered. Blows, but that's how it works.

I'm in Australia
